- Here’s one of the oldest tricks in the book. There should be plenty more clips of these so we’ll just call this part I. Other ones I may possibly do are smaller tropes of this kind or someone is actually behind them etc. There are other videos that I want to do too, I thought I could do more, but have to focus on other things now, so these videos might take a bit longer. What are the Characters?
The Fletch clip has me in hysterics just for the fact you can practically hear the dog say "what" in response 😅
You could make a compilation of scenes where the villain is defeated, the hero is about to finish him, the villain says "DO IT" but then the hero says "No" and spares him
One example being the conclusion of the final fight of Michael against Gabriel in Legion (2010)
Villain to hero: "We're not so different, you and I"
The moment when Woody said “Buzz, look an Alien!” And then Laughed His arse off is one of the Most Iconic moments in Toy Story!

Kind of fun trope. I know I missed many clips, will add them in part II. This video mostly contains the straightforward use of the trope. Was planning on mixing it up a bit at first, but there just were an overwhelming amount of clips for this trope and for its subversions and twists. So, they'll be separate videos someday, maybe. Not sure what to call it exactly, but another cool compilation would be one that's based on characters who seem weak and/or show an aggressor mercy, and then the aggressors realize later when those seemingly weak characters show amazing powers or when someone points it out to the aggressors that they are lucky that they weren't killed. Basically, something like "I punked him! / No, he spared you."
