I am so glad to find your channel. I have also been intrigued by qubes but have been a little overwhelmed with all the possible choices. Please continue the tutorial. In addition, I have been perusing your videos. You are a crazy prolific content provider. Something for everyone. Don't let yourself get burnt out. Thanks.
You should throw some tutorials in this playlist that focus on airgapping BTC, XMR, & ETH transactions. That's something you don't see on TH-cam I'm guessing because no one is confident enough to explain it in a video. There's plenty of documentation & you just need to know basic networking. Having video explanation is great
I love the idea of especially xmr but I can’t find anywhere to use it w out commiting a crime I don’t wanna buy drugs or anything but I rly want to utilize it
I added it on the install as it was an option. If you did not do that, you can create a new qube and one of the options is to make it a USB qube, though I think you may need to tweak some other settings. I will need to look into that.
When you make edits to a template, like your Firefox settings, you need to shut down the template then restart the AppVMs that rely on that template. Then you should see the changes. It won't le you restart until the template is shut down.
9:27 the problem here rather is, the config files for appearance etc are saved in home folder, but every qube has its own home-folder-storage and therefore has no access to this area regarding the template. Only main application files are stored in the root filesystem which is handed over from template to respective vm. solution could be modifying the application config files in root filesystem, some applications do support this afaik.... :)
Good day. I have Qubes OS installed but size of the disk has been exhausted. Pls is there a method to deploy a standalone ISO on my QubesOS using an external HDD as storage location for the Standalone ISO Qubes?
Could you be able to tell me if it’s possible to add more applications to a vm..I want to add libreoffice to my work qube. Much appreciated and great videos
To install LO persistantly, you need to install it to your template qube. In my case, I use Debian as the default template for personal qubes, so I would need to boot up the Debian template and install LO there, then it will be available to your personal Qubes.
Hello, I installed it and after booting I can see: “Loading Xen 4.14.5 … Loading Linux 5.15.94-1.qubes.fc32.x86_64 … Loading initial ramdisk …” Then the screen goes black. Any suggestions? Thanks
when I had this problem with debian, the solution was to give the kernel the 'nomodeset' option at boot - then the kernel hands over graphics mgmt afaik
One more thing, you told that you've configured firefox inside the template and then you noticed that it doesn't apply to your appvm. Of course it doesn't, because it save on the template's user config not inside the appvm unless you create new appvm after that. That's bad for your privacy. You should change the config of the user inside your appvm not inside the template. When you do that it will create ~/.mozilla folder inside the template and the unique id will be the same all over that template-based appvm that you created after.
@@unpopulartrip5827he accuracy of his comment made me load a Black Arch distro You're saying it IS advisable to edit the User config on a template level? OK.
None of my virtual machines are running and if i try to start one i get the message "start failed: internal error: unable to reset PCI device 0000:01:00.1: internal error: Active 0000:01:00.0 devices on bus with 0000:01:00.1, not doing bus reset, see /var/log/libvirt/libxl/libxl-driver.log for details" very grateful for help!

Took the words out of my mind.
Really resonate with this comment. Please don't stop this series!
I appreciate these, I've always really wanted to play around with Qubes ever since I first saw it lol it's so friggin cool

I noticed in your previous video in the Qubes Manager you were missing says-usb but in this video it is present. How did you install that Qube?

on first boots there are many issues. you need to reboot and will be fine
Very nice video, thank you so much for the great work, keep it up!!!

How do we add a custom Kernal to the template so it appears as an option along fedora, debian, etc ?

Hello, how add sys-usb cube ? Have some tutorial about that ? I tried with qubes OS guide but had to install OS again... :)
Much appreciated!
Can you guide me on how to route my networkVM to firewallVM, then later route traffic to VPN VM?

dom0 doesn’t show up for me, how do I fix that?
Where is it not showing up?
I figured it out
Isnt it bad practice to put and use applications in dom0?
Yes. I am not certain I did that in this video, did I?

You haven't showed how to connect to internet
It is not any different from any other distro. Ether plug in an ethernet cable or go to the network manager and login to a wireless network.
bro, what happened to your audio?
I believe I recorded these with a different audio setup, or something was messed up in the recording.
