The two weeks that never came. The Republicans were ONE VOTE AWAY FROM WIPING OUT OBAMACARE, but for John McCain's vote. If the Republicans had won that vote in 2017, millions of Americans would have lost their health care and there WAS NO REPLACEMENT PLAN at the time of that vote! Nothing. Trump repeatedly promised and continued to promise a new and wonderful and inexpensive health care plan that would take care of everything, the best health care plan ever, throughout his 4 year regime. WE NEVER SAW IT. We also would have gone back to those "good old days" when a pre-existing condition claimed by the insurance company would deny you coverage or charge you more than you could afford, and "adult" students (over the age of 18) who were in college and/or living at home, etc. were not covered by their parents' health insurance coverage (if they had any coverage).
I'm remembering "when you got 15 people, and in a couple days it's going to be down close to zero..." January 26,2020 - Trump on the pandemic... after he terminated his pandemic response team.

The ACÁ has been a God send for millions. I was personally able to get a state job and qualify for health care coverage. A dear friend as her family were born with a blood disease. Never was able to acquire health care until AC Act. She and her family members were finally able to get the health care they desperately needed. Her’s is just one family. Think of the millions more who are now able to see and receive the proper health care needed before an emergency.
This is just one of the many programs that the president and former President Obama and others have worked towards enforcing for the American people. The Biden/Harris get my vote again for 2024.

I've been donating to a few key congressional races, and of course, president Biden's reelection campaign, safe in the knowledge that my money will be well spent electing democrats in November.

Not sure about that - I seem to remember times when GOP candidates for various positions got a lot more money but it didn't guarantee them the seat. Dems need to canvass, promote, advertise, hold town halls etc. They really need to not get complacent.

The border security bill would give the government emergency powers to refuse entry to migrants crossing the border or to quickly expel those who had already entered the US.
The “trigger” authority, called the “Border Emergency Authority" would enable the administration to summarily deport
migrants who enter between ports of
entry without permitting them to apply for asylum.
The new emergency authority could be activated if border “encounters” reach a daily average of 4,000 over a period of seven days and would become mandatory once border encounters reach over 5,000 over a period of seven days.
The bill gives the federal government significant discretion over exactly when to implement this new emergency summary-deportation process and does not require it to be publicly announced. The upshot is this: on any given day, a would-be asylum seeker would have no idea whether they would be allowed to seek asylum in the U.S. or not.
The bipartisan Senate bill would add more than 1,500 new Customs and Border Protection personnel.
The bill would direct $20 billion to additional enforcement on the border, and to combat drug trafficking.

Still will let in 4,999 a day x 360 days or 1,800,00 a year.
