They’ve changed the base so it can now have more names on it. It all started in 2010 when they accidentally added “Spain” using the English word rather than the native word of the winner (eg Espana). 2018 was the first tournament with the new plate underneath

The trophy probably won’t be replaced because it is so iconic. FIFA will probably do what the NHL does with the Stanley Cup, once a ring on the trophy has been filled, it is taken off the trophy and replaced by a blank ring, the old ring put on display at the hockey hall of fame. So instead of a new design for 2042 the current bottom of trophy will be taken of and replaced by a new one, then the old one will be placed on display at the fifa world museum

1:07 I actually do remember that at the start of New Years 2022, I decided to keep all of my valuable possessions (with a few exceptions) in a locked draw to protect them from robbers/burglars and only take them out when I’m going on big trips (ones I stay overnight). I haven’t been a victim of burglary before but I am prepared so nothing too valuable is stolen.

I learned three new things - knew the other 7. I read originally that tiny square plaques placed in two rows around the base were supposed / intended to be used for the winners, but yeah, the first "new" winner, West Germany, was inscribed on the bottom. Seriously, that makes no sense at all!. They would have had room for a lot more winners around the base and it would have been on view, like the original Jules Rimet trophy.
They can rearrange it that way, and then add new rows at the base as needed.

they've changed the engraving style from straight to round the diameter, which will have more space and can fill up to 10 country names(if bosnia won, 7 maybe)
