What a privilege it must have been to learn from his family...father, uncles, and grandfather all legendary artists...it shows in every note. Thank you for posting this...beautiful.
I am 76 yrs old and remember hearing this song sung by my aunt when I was just a kid of about 8rys old. I don't care who signs it or about technical issues.. the song evokes beautiful memories of my youth. The lyrics are powerful and I feel sorry for people who can't appreciate wht songs can mean to people.
When I was a wee lad, my dad had an old clock that will sound this music as alarm. This brings back my childhood memories, waking up to this set of lovely tunes in the morning.
I must be getting old. This tune, particularly this guitar version makes my eyes well up. Gracias

I too enjoy playing many classics and favorites slowly to savor each note.
What a very individual and lovely interpretation. I played Pepe's recording and then several other guitarists and loved them all. It is so interesting to hear how the different artists perform this piece.

I am younger than you... 75 years old. Streams of memories come back as I listen to this piece. My mother used to sing it and so did the older generation. She sang it in French and the verses are quite evocative.... the deceased loved one, the white dove.
im 72 .i can remember hearing this tune played often .it was very popular then. i have always liked it and always will.

I went to school with Celino and Lito, great guys. I remember being a young kid and Lito's dad Angel and his brother played for us at school this happend two or three times, of course I was just a kid enjoying the music and had no idea as to what a special treat this really was.

Celino is the son of Celin. Celedonio and Angelita had 3 sons: Celin, Pepe, and Angel.
Celino is one of Celin's kids. I've been close
friends (and student) of the family for 30 years, so..this is the truth. Celino is absolutely an incredible guitarist.
