These are Pashtun-Hindus of kakar tribe. They are from Quetta and the tribal belt of kakaristan region. Hindu Pashtuns of kakar tribe were in great number in the past. One thing is misunderstood, people think that the kakar Hindus are effected by the Hindus of india but the kakar are ancient Aryans who were following the vedas but today as the majority of vedas followers are from Hindustan so the religion is named as Hinduism and the people who follows vedas are now termed as Hindus. Peshawar derived from word Pesha (occupation) because it was home to different professionals from all over Indian Sub-Continent. They came here through different cultures, occupation, traditions and religions. They were employed by different rulers. The main evidence here is Qissa Khwani Bazaar (Story Telling Bazaar) Where the soldiers and professionals of different languages used to tell the stories of their culture and region. These Hindu Pashtuns have nothing to do with Islam. People of Indo-Iranian ethnic groups like Pashtuns, Balochis and Hazaras were mostly Zoroastrians with minority being Hindus and Buddhists. All Pashtuns of Afghanistan, Pakistan and India were converted to Islam later. A good number have converted to Sikhism and some have remained Hindus.

PAKTHA & Pakthoon are as old as that of Afganisthan, not Pakisthani, but there is state in Pakistan Khyber Pakthunkhawa, for this relate long history of Peshawar. In the old days the hindu trader came at pashtoon areas. Some of them came with famalies for the purpose of trade. And pashtoons are very hospitable so thats why the hindu trader started living with out any fear. So with the passage of time those hindus traders presented him self as pashtoon. The story of Jewish qais Abdul rasheed adopting Islam has no solid ground. On the arrival of Arab sufis pashtoons adopted Islam. The main evidence here is Qissa Khwani Bazaar (Story Telling Bazaar) Where the soldiers and professionals of different languages used to tell the stories of their culture and region. The mixture of these languages lead to the invention of Urdu/Hindi language. We should be thankful to our elders to give us the beautiful gift of this language.

These Hindu Pashtuns have nothing to do with Islam. People of Indo-Iranian ethnic groups like Pashtuns, Balochis and Hazaras were mostly Zoroastrians with minority being Hindus and Buddhists. All Pashtuns of Afghanistan, Pakistan and India were converted to Islam later. A good number have converted to Sikhism and some have remained Hindus.

as someone with family from Jalalabad and Peshawar, just wanted to say,, we should not be using Pashtun as an identity, of course are families are from KPK, of course we speak Pashto , but our actual identity is Hindko. I believe if someone does not have Pashtun tribal affiliation , they must not use the Pashtun identity. However, doesn't make as any less native to the lands of the KPK, the hindkos are actually native to Peshawar even before the Pakhtuns came ( and it is a well documented historical fact), and these communities lived side by side for centuries

Lovely video. They have lived among Pashtuns for centuries and have adopted their language and culture. Now because of nostalgia, they are missing their past. As far as their origin is, they are not Pashtuns by blood as all the Pashtuns are Muslims only. I wish they are welcomed by Indian culture and not let them feel to be aliens.

ayon dash Bhudism is a very old religion. Pashtuns are later inhabitants of their land. Still their live people of other ethnicities including Persian speaking people. Although all the people are Muslims now except for a small minority of people living chitral who are thought to have come with Alexander. They have their own ancient culture. We have Sikh religion people and Hindus too. But we and they all know that they are ethnically different. Neither they claim to be Pashtuns nor we claim this.

The first important Pashtun can't be Hindus and non muslim, I agreed on one thing that they were Original Muslim pashtun from Pakistan loralai they migrate to india after partition they spent long time with Hindu community they got married with Hindus than they became Hindu.
Pashtun is not a right word they are in reality huns who lives south to oxus Valley, thus came to be known as pusht(back) + huns = pushthuns. They're are many proud huns in gurjar community!! & pashtun are just a gulaam hindu who got converted to Islam by turks & Arabs.
