The original was a fun 80’s action movie, but I don’t know if it would work for today. It was a movie of its time. Jake Gyllenhaal is one of the best actors working today but feels oddly miscast in this role. Casting Conner McGregor was a choice. I’m guessing they were going for something different and hoped it would pay off.
