A key to world peace. In private life and politics. But so hard to practice in real. So hard. Not the theory or the analysis of Marshall but to practice. It is a little bit like tennis: it is easy regarded from the theory (just bring the ball one time more into the field of the opponent), but so hard to do. But nevertheless worth to train as much as you can, because it will bring you more than joy to you life: It will bring connection and meaning.
The hardest thing for me is in the early stages of a conflict I feel petty for bringing up something "I went out of my way to get you something, you weren't grateful and didn't even offer to reimburse me, that makes me feel sad, and not listen to you/be around you, could you be more grateful?" Instead I say nothing, end up over indulging the person and when I can't hear any more politely tell them I'm going, when they get angry I just lose it, verbally and even shamefully physically if they aggressively banish me/have a history of threatening behaviour.
8:18 but you are teaching now something and trying to change the behavior, or are you? perhaps your "sharing" then teaching...need to ponder on this...
Rather than trying to change the persons behaviour, you are creating a quality of connection and empathy, where you are aware and connected, not to the strategy ie what they did, but compassionately connected with the precious NEEDS they are trying to meet by the behaviour. And to create a quality of connection where they can also hear YOUR precious needs not met by the strategy. Now you can together create a strategy that would enrich both your lives. As someone who has been using this with my family and with 1000's of people, it is incredible to have this quality of connecting, and definitely not what we are taught to do.
I think it's more like the people in the room have come to learn about NVC and to hear Mr. Rosenberg speak. Rosenberg is not there trying to teach them, but the people are coming there to learn from him. So it comes naturally. If someone does not want to hear what Mr. Rosenberg has to say or disagrees with him, I don't think Mr. Rosenberg would have a problem with that. The question was about "how do I teach someone X". Mr. Rosenberg isn't going around looking for people to impose his views on others, people are simply coming to him. So it's natural giving.
He misunderstands “telling people spiritual TRUTH AND REALITIES (uncomfortable and unwanted)” as being “trying to manipulate”... “cutting off life”... “motivated by the desire to BE RIGHT AND WIN” He’s misreading and projecting his own intentions, perhaps subconsciously, but telling the truth or reality is not a crime, and it’s not wrong, just because it’s “UNCOMFORTABLE and UNWANTED”
It's all about how a person communicates and with what intentions. People attack other people with 'truth' all the time. If you're someone who actually knows the truth, then you'll have conviction in your sharing of it.
I do agree everything we do must be NOT OUT OF FEAR But not for his reasons, his reasons are “everybody will pay for that fear” My reasons are “God didn’t design you to live for your emotions or other people?”
“Natural giving” - the problem with his philosophy is that, nobody has this “naturally” in them Ofcourse we were “designed to” do a lot of good (“give from the heart”), But THE FALL OF MAN happened in which now we need to be BORN-AGAIN for our MOTIVES for giving to become PURE, And for the desire to GIVE to become natural “NATURALLY,” we are selfish, not selfless!
Human beings best operate when they understand themselves and others explicitly. Through this they are able to know what it is they want and need, and what others want and need, and they can arrange themselves around each other accordingly. They are not selfish nor selfless, and they are both.
He addresses this in part 1. This is a series. I think ideally we would all watch the entire thing to fully understand where he's coming from! :) th-cam.com/video/M-129JLTjkQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=GM-02-wInQ5XhFfK&t=331
His jackal/giraffe comparisons bother me. Jackal's have family structures and live each other, care for each other. Giraffes...rape and abandon their children if they can't walk over the fence.
Well it's not rape. It's Nature at work. If Giraffes too had family structures, their survival will be risked. Jackals cannot survive being single parents or just by staying solo. They have to.
Im guessing you are wanting more understanding of the compassion and care which jackals live with? And respect for these animals? If so, I so get that and am with you. Its meant to be a symbol to help people understand the difference between the 2 ways of connecting. However as you move more into NVC, the jackal becomes our best friend, with so much wisdom and understanding within what it is saying.
@2:00 just contradicted himself I’m all for the technique of communicating clearly and all, But his politics and religious beliefs are dangerous, Previously, he’s promoting violence against Christians and Conservatives (the problem people and jackals creating chaos by using moral judgment language by calling people and actions “evil” when they are), He claims it’s jackal of you to call anything morally wrong, “wrong,” - he even said imagine a peaceful and harmonious place where the Earth is healed by no labels like those, “no right or wrong, no duty, no obligation, no rewards for good, no punishment for evil” and yet here he’s saying it’s morally wrong to have no moral duty or obligation (to be irresponsible) Lots of rings of Carl Marxism, Lennonism, Socialist-Communist overthrow and takeover etc ... he looks like he’s going to be showing up soon
Hmm.. interesting you could have a point. I guess we can never take everything someone has to say as truth but it's sometimes good to take some of these ideas on board.
I love this man!! Can you imagine what the world would be like if we all practiced NVC?
I learned I CANNOT change anyone! Nice video!

Brilliant man. I wish I'd seen this years ago
I love this guy
You are the best Marshall! ♥

There is not supposed to be any criticism, unless you want to be criticized. People treat you the way you treat people.
Love the concept, love the puppets... it will take considerable effort to make "Giraffe" more natural, but it should be worth while. I'm trying!
Amazing
danke fürs uploading - wirklich nützlich!

Yes, of course.

You can’t teach or change anybody?
Didn’t he just teach that? Isn’t he making these videos to affect or create change in people? Helllllooo?
correct, unless they want to change or be taught.
Inspiring desired outcome is different than forcing it... That is the message...
Or is he just talking to a group about thinking in a different way it's upto you to learn from him or not
