FFXI - Intense Ambuscade Vol One July 2024 Battle Strategies and Easy Solo Battle Examples

- In this months Intense Ambuscade we take on Qiqirin. I go over Battle Strategies for both solo and party play while showing two battle examples of me soloing it on Easy with Ninja and Dragoon.
One important detail: you *can* use Geomancer, if you only use debuff bubbles, as only buff bubbles trigger the level up mechanic.
This means Frailty, Wilt and Torpor are all still usable
I would also add that DNC is very good this month. Since you're very likely not haste or attack capped, Haste Samba and Box Step are huge, and Climatic Flourish skillchains can bring adds down much faster when it's available.
I couldn't have asked for better timing. The same week I got my Tizona to 119(III), an Ambuscade started that heavily encouraged the use of Blue Mage. It's thankfully not an extremely challenging fight, so it's been fun solving the puzzle of party setup and loadout this month. And everyone gets to play unusual jobs!

Having two Blue Mages alternating Mighty Guard with Diffusion is a great boost towards capping Magic Haste. Blue Mages also have Tenebral Crush for a potent Defense Down that also stacks with Dia and Box Step, and Dream Flower makes for an accurate Sleepga against the adds. Dancer is an excellent job to have on hand as well, as the 10% Job Ability Haste for the whole melee squad, Quickstep, and Box Step are all hugely impactful. A good Dancer can also eliminate the need for a dedicated healer such as White Mage or Scholar.

Hows the kclub affecting your dps overall? Increase due to ws frequency? Or more-so only for fights where mb isn’t as useful/good, like this one.
Really enjoying it but definitely situational. The TP Gain is immense of course but you take quite a bit of a damage hit on Hybrid WS's without having the strong stat bonsus's in your offhand. Definitely proving very useful for 5 step skillchains and blade: shun spam where that offhand's stat bonus's matter's much less. Red Mage should be a great outlet for it once I optimize the gearsets for it.
What Shuriken do you have lockstyled there?
It's called a "Grudge" and is only obtainable through mog bonanza.
Just got my RDM to Mlvl 34 today. So Ima go in solo and test how long my Sleepga lasts for on D. Boss can't be slept but will the bombs wake up the adds no matter how far away the boss is pulled? Like to the corner?
Sadly from what I see yes, doesn't matter where they are.
On the plus side, they're really easy to sleep, so you can just cast Sleepga again. In my first run I accidentally let them wake up like 3 times and had no problem just doing another Sleepga, on D. It's probably easier to just fight on top of them so they're all in range if they wake up.
@@kaeBR Still not done this yet. :p Was thinking of using Sleepga to start with overwriting with Sleepga 2 just before it wears (I be going RDM/BLM). I been told the bombs are easy to dispose of with a single WS so perhaps put one DD on bomb duty instead of them all targetting it. But I notice no Cornelia. Can't even use her for Haste aura?
