- July 2020 Very Difficult Intense Qiqirn Ambuscade. Jobs: Samurai, Dragoon, Monk, Red Mage, White Mage, Dancer. Blue Mage, Warrior and Dark Knight also very good for this fight.

Hi Ejin, I can see you are using Barstonra & Barpetra. I assume Barstonra to help reduce the duration of terror, but what about barpetra? I have noticed the white mages in the Japanese groups I've joined were using Barfira+Baramnesia, which I think isn't really useful for this fight.
I don't think bars matter at all. The theory is that Terror and Petrify share a slot and can't stack(you can't be petrified and terrified at the same time). There's really no evidence that barstonra reduces the duration of terror but the rats don't really use anything that can be resisted anyways.

RDM/SCH is also solid. at the start accession-aquaveil for all the blus.

That's why I've stuck with /BLM. From time to time the bomb will explode and instead of a wipe/huge mess with /SCH, it's just a "meh, sleepga" again to fix the situation. Plus you get Elemental Seal for Impact on the boss so there's that.

It''s not nearly as much of a grind as it used to be. Very solo friendly now, IMO. You can actually play for an hour or two and make some progress, unlike the old days.

XI is still one of the most grindy MMOs on the market due to its ENORMOUS amount of past content to do, but at the same time it's all manageable grind unlike it was back in the 75 cap era. Even if you can only play 1 hour a day, you can always make progress doing something, unlike 75cap era where it could take hours to even find a group.
It's been a while since I've gotten a look at an up to date lidt at what's BiS for sam melee and Ws sets. Do you ever post your gear choices?
