I agree, I just got this game a week ago for $20 for PS4

I spend more time watching tutorials on how to play the game, then actually playing the game
It's an awesome game, but many of the basic mechanics could have used a better explanation, like for example, only adults can build. I was trying to make a bed with the starting baby for an hour before giving up. I can see why so many gave up on it earlier on, but once past that first 30 min - hour it's MUCH better.

How am i a new player an have common sense enough to know the reason they throw u in with little help or guidance is cuz its supposed to add a feeling of what it would be like in that time. Like what u think they had little apes voices in there head giving them a turorial. If that's to much for someone to handle. Then u probally shouldnt be playing the game if were being honestly. That's an on u problem not an on the game or developer problem.. They delivered on a game they promised
I know this is late af, but the babies mutations are spontaneous as you carry them around, I'm near positive the mutations are also linked to what you did while carrying said baby.
Edit: Also, neat little tidbit. Neuronal energy pool full? Plop down a bed wherever tf you can find the grass, doesn't need to be a settlement. (just listen for the Tigers while building.)
If anyone’s picking this game up again there’s a great trick with meteorites and evolving. If you bring children to the meteor site to examine it they will get a random mutation each. If you then pass time so they grow up you can go to a different meteor site to do the same with the new generation.
It’s especially good early game where you can get 12 mutations in 1 evolution cycle along with doubling the amount of skills you can lock in per time jump. If your lazy you can also give special stones and meteorites to another ape to form a relationship immediately.
Quick tip, if you want to have more reinforcements, find a meteorite with you carrying baby you will get 1 extra reinforcement for how many babies are around.
Example; if you have 3 apes that are all carrying 2 babies you will get 12 reinforcements just by picking up the meteorite.

You should do a video on finding and befriending outsiders. So far, locating other apes has been the hardest thing I've encountered in the game.

I still see lot's of questions about this game. The trick is to have 6 babies at all time. find a meteor with all 6 babies with you. the meteor adds 6 extra slots to lock when you skip a generation AND the meteors add random mutations to babies that had none before. SO... after one meteor you go to the next generation. Make 6 new babies and find the next meteor. after 2 you skip one more generation to lock a total of 24 slots. and make another 6 babies. Then you Evolve. The meteor adds a random mutation to every babies present that had no mutation from birth yet. the mutations will only lock in when you evolve while the mutations are on elders and adults. you only make the 3rd generation of babies to lock the mutations from the 2nd generation of babies. This way you'll get the maximum amount of mutations for every evolution. I Hope this will help you guys. Cheers!
one small side note: be aware that babies after visiting a meteor need to be place on the ground to trigger the mutation. this can be done at any time after you visited the meteor.

@@kishuroffixial3891 You can have 6 babies that get 1 "lock in" skill point each for a total of 6. After the meteor visit, with a total of 6 babies in-tow, each baby receives 1 "extra lock in" skill point each for a total of 6, 6+6=12 total "lock in" skill points for the first "generation skip"! Do that twice, gives you a total of "24 lock in skill points"!

Seems like finding meteriors helps lock in more traits on deck tree, and the 2 your missing might be use of grinder
I absolutely love this game, I've uploaded some videos on the game, and have made every mistake in the book. But I learned from it, didn't like it at first til I got the hang of it.
Something I learned was that when you bring children with you say 3 adults carrying 6 children. You get reinforcements double and if you build a bed and drop your kids then pick them back up all of them will get mutations. Then you can do that for the next generation and then evolve once you have those mutations.

I think you forgot the main part. All of this only works if you go to a meteorite site and inspect it.
Should of left link to ur video on how to walk upright took for ever scrolling in ur videos to find it good to see Conan still getting up dates
so with other words to unlock an upgrade for a skill,you have to do the exactly same things as before just a lot of times right?

Ugh now I have auto couple and auto babies, but everytime I skip a gen NONE of the babies has mutations! I have noticed if I randomly have a baby and put it down on the bed it will get a mutation. It's happened at least 3 times so I'm hoping doing that will help
What I still don’t understand is how the the game will say “this spontaneous genetic mutation will become effective after the linage’s next generation” then next generation no one has it. Why not?
To permanently unlock genetic mutations you have to evolution leap, adults or elders, then it will lock in
This game is 4 years old and no one was able to fix my issue but I guess this video says the solution
Basically I rushed the game to point I wouldn't get any more mutations not from meteorites nor babies and trust me I did 5 meteorites no mutations I breed 40 babies no mutations
Also I would appreciate If someone can tell me why I can't get no more mutations I'm guessing it's because I'm not max lineage blooming but I'm not sure

What's the best way to evolve?
@@Breakingzcode do an evolution feat which are easy as discovering new areas..have to do at least one in order to evolve, the best way to me is to always make six babies early, if its early in the game I get my neuronal energy up and unlock nodes. Especially the communication one so you can make the monkeys follow what you do. Actually they are all important..but when you first start you dont wanna bring many apes out to explore..take one adult or elder(if you dont wanna deal with “fear of the unknown”, but you get a feat after 20 fears overcome) with two kids on back because it makes you gain neuronal energy faster and if you find a meteorite, you can either take all the kids to it if you have alot of reinforcement points to lock in. You get an extra reinforcement point for every child present when you discover a meteorite and also the kids without mutations that are present when you find the meteorite gain a mutation! Always have a weapon!

I have a question, so I’m at the end of the game, like I’ve completed it but I didn’t become omnivorous and I want to but I don’t get any mutations. Any suggestions?
To get a specific mutation you must have more abilities in that area, for example the mutation you need for omnivore is in communication, or you can start a new game. To activate it though, you must have it, change generation then evolve.

the 3 times i evolved with a maxed clan i evolved and arrived in the new camp alone any ideas why? they was all in camp and not on expedition

What happens when I settle at a new place and my clan is left there? I know it says something about your clan being left behind if they stayed there but do they produce and if your new clan produce the max, would you be able to go visit? Is it best to leave some members at your previous settlement to expand?
Raymond Smith They wont reproduce on there own, and you can only settle at one place at a time.
How do you connect the mutations. Also do you have to use the primate that has the mutation to unlock the next neuron in the tree. Also I've noticed if you don't lock down the mutation, and that primate becomes an elder and then dies you lose the mutation?
It's been awhile but I figured this out. When you have a primate with the mutation you want, you evolve. Not the 15 years after a baby grows up, not that one. Evolve, hit your skill tree and scroll all the way out. Species evolve.

You have to evolve in order for the mutation to be equipped
So basically the fastest way to get the most mutations is to carry two baby apes that don't have a mutation and just keep doing a bunch of stuff until one of them or both of them gets one then after that put them both back at the settlement then pick up two more baby apes and just repeat the process that sounds simple enough anything else?
Thats if you tryna be safe..you could carry 6 babies on 3 adults..but if you havent reached a level of attack which requires a mutation than idk its smart unless you work smart..there isnt one way to play
I’m at the ocean and I missed only a few little feats here and there so my evolution leaps are super short so I’m kinda stuck, any tips?
Kill everything, dodge everything twice and make animals kill other animals are the easiest ones or using tools. Others require backtracking to find sites etc
Im at 3 millions mark and discovered all the maps locations, what is the fastest way to gain feats points for evolving? Killing animals?
did you already find all the meteorite sites?
There’s dodging each animal in combat _twice_ , intimidating them successfully, killing them, and “making” your predators kill their competition (whether that means injuring one while the other is nearby and just watching what happens next, or them being too close to each other while you’re in the vicinity).
Besides those, there’s tool usage (applying the proper tool to the correct situation, then a second time), a number of things, but it seems you must have completed some of those to reach every map location.
Anyone else run into a bug where you cannot learn a neuron that you initiated. Even with full neuronal energy, 2 of my neurons are stuck with the learn option grayed out and the neuron is a white dot with a circle around it. I lost them after not having enough reinforcements the prior generation so that might have something to do with it. Any ideas?

After a generation you can't learn them I think. You need to unlock them again.
U probs had a mutation that helped unlock it, then passed a generation, making that ape die, then no more mutation til u get it again
If I reinforce a skill does that carry over forever? Or do I use my reinforcement points on the same things forever
once a neuron is locked in it stays that way for the rest of the playthrough
I just started this game and this is my experience so far
my first prime ape died to bleeding because I didn’t know how to make bandages making me kinda pissed but the game looks great and the music so calmed down when I figured out I could make more apes instead of looking for them I bred the apes until it didn’t let me. While exploring the ape I was playing as fell from a tree killing her the elders I had died to crocodiles my last adult ape died from a tiger while I tried to figure out what counterattacking was all I had was the babies to play as so I restarted.
This game is not afraid to screw you over ain’t it?

You can also stop bleeding with honey I'm sure.
Alter the leaf thing, poke the bee hive and eat for poison protection or alter stick with honey on it to grab the honey to stop bleeding and protection

You can get an anti bleeding fix/buff if you alter horsetail without a tool and then "apply" so your hominid rubs it all over themselves. This game has a huge learning curve, but it's worth it, especially if you love evolutionary science.
Im not getting anymore mutations and im trying to get the mutations so i can walk on 2 legs for as long as i want, but im nlt getting any mutations with any of my babies. What can i do to fix that?
Improve your abilities. Mutations are locked in multiple stages; first is behind a simple neuron, next is behind evolutionary jumps. So work on skills
This game is honestly a perfect idea but i feel like it was half made.

Also you can get more reinforcement points by visiting a meteorite with 6 kids…. It will give you an extra 6 points…
How do you reinforce them because I saw a video on it so when you evolve you keep the evolutions but I don’t know how
So when you are on a bed spot, and bring up the evolve menu, there will be 3 menus to cycle through, Evolution, Generation, and Neuron tree. Generation is how you “reinforce” neurons. In that menu, there will be a number on the lower right hand side, “reinforcement points” or something. If you have 1 baby, you only get 1 point, to a maximum of 6. Don’t just lock in anything, and remember, all the abilities you’ve unlocked to “learn” and then reinforce, will be much easier to require until you lock it in. So to lock in, generation menu, there will be a bunch of blue light neurons, those are the ones available to lock in. Select the ones you want, then (for me it’s spacebar) bottom middle of the screen a prompt will tell you press spacebar to change generation. 15 years passes, any elders die, adults become elders, and babies become adults. The mutations(orange colored, given at birth) take affect in your next evolutionary leap, locked in neurons remain with your lineage the rest of the game. Typically so far I’ve found and others, you can only do about two generation changes, unless you don’t want the mutations the current clan members have. The elders, and adults have “revealed” mutations, babies with mutations (there will be some when you evolve leap and lose, you will get more later) do not have their mutations passed on. Meteorites (not precious stones) give reinforce points per baby you have around you when you “inspect” the meteorite. Go ahead and inspect the crash, but only pick up the meteorite, take it home. I only have one saved, they stay at the base you evolve from, even though they don’t move with you, just go back and get them. So yeah, if you inspect with 6 kids around, you will have 12 points to lock in neurons with. Keep in mind, you will need to unlock all of those abilities to use those points up before a leap or they are wasted. Make sure you know you are not going to evolve anytime soon, and plan on exploring a bit more and getting some feats done so you can use those extra points. Hope this helps.

I have a question I have a skill and In my tree that I unlocked at the beginning but when I want to the next generation it won’t let me unlock it again it looks like I can but when I try it doesn’t work the learn button is grayed out is this a bug or what can I do to unlock it again and the skill is deep sleep
You have to carry around a kid for awhile to gain enough energy to re unlock things.i think
@@TheWidowmaker430 can also look at the bones of your clan that died through the years after going through a generation gives a lot of neuron energy to relearn what you didn't reinforce.
Ragnarok PXN okay I’ve just started, how do I advance a generation? Does it do that automatically? I’ve been having babies I think I’ve got like 6 of them and I go to the reinforcement menu to select which traits to reinforce, but what do I do after that?
@@nerdoutreachprogram5358 if you have babies go to your settlement be an adult not a elder and go to the bed that you make and lay down and go to the evolution screen and move up to where you reinforce the neurons down and after you lock them down if you are a adult should say skip a generation I play on ps4 so the triangle button appears for the skip generation.
Got to have babies and be an adult cause once you skip the elders will die and the adults become elders and babies the adults so make sure the one you are controlling is an adult cause if you are controlling and elder the skip generation button won't pop up.

@@xcoldhart4837 The reason you bring a child is for exp mainly, always bring two. But for the story its because the kids are learning off what you do and becoming the new you in later generations, same with children today they learn off what they see and experience.
If you discover a meteorite it will give a mutation to all the children you carry at that moment. So only discover a meteorite if you have 6 children with you. It not counts if the children are in the base, you have to bring them to the meteorite.

Ok but if I skip a generation to make the mutations on a baby slightly marked will I loose the slightly marked genetic mutations on adults?

So I'm confused for some reason when I passed generation after reinforcing my 6 skills of my choosing it's still starts me as though I haven't learned anything or none of my noren's have evolved is my game glitched am I doing something wrong?
You must have thought you reinforced them but you probably didn't if you have to learn them alk over again

NEED HELP if anyone is willing to give it, can't seem to unlock the top right side of the tree, I have gone really far on all other corners but haven't even unlocked the first one yet, what am I doing wrong?
Top right is swimming/endurance/motoricity. Just grab 2 kids to carry, and start walking through water. Also, go into deep water and swim around. You’ll progress through it. Also to get bipedalism, you need to have a kid with the mutations for motoricity. There’s 3 mutations for it total. Just walk around, stand up when smelling/hearing/using intelligence. Walk through shallow water.
You also need to pick up rocks and sticks and smash them together by altering

Reinforcement points literally arnt working for me. I lock the skill. Pass time and then lose the skill. HELP
They will only lock if you pass the generation
If you go get the meteorites with baby's on your adult monkey have 4 baby's with you or 6 if you can. It'll give you reinforcement points for each baby that went with you
@@texan0763 you can also get new mutations with the babies, all you have to do is drop them off on a bed after inspecting the meteor

@@brownbiscuit4254 yeah for sure. Have one of the other monkeys follow you with baby's on it. Just make sure you make a weapon for that monkey so they can defend themselves if something attacks. But tbh I try to stay away from the predators 😂
Got a question just got the game a week ago and I wanted to ask how many reinforcements points can you get I once I know 12 forsure but can you get more than that I only ask because I had like 3 meteors come down plus there was two more that I was going too so I have 4 sites but I don’t want too waste them just wondering if you read this soon I will subscribe.
Dion Rodriguez I think it’s the amount of kids you have currently plus 6 points for each meteor. However, if you find all of those meteorites and get the points, they will only be useful for one generation. If you have 20 points, and you only use 10, the other ten will be lost.
Seems as though it's as many as you can get. I went out farming meteorites with 6 children and now I have 30 reinforcements and have to unlock 30 nodes if I want to get my worth. Don't do what I did because now I can't skip generations to get new mutations.

Can you have all mutations, because i have passed a quite few generations now with no new mutations on new babies, i have a lot of mutations, and it seems i can't get anymore, i want metabolism...
Can someone explain why my settlement keeps getting attacked by teleporting tigers?
It's part of the game. You have to kill them. You get attacked by 2 every time you skip 15 years. If you kill them both you won't get attacked any more until you skip more time.

That's what reinforcements are for so you can keep what you learn when you pass a generation
You technically keep knowledge “of” what you learned every generation, just, some gets forgotten. The way it’s set up, you have immediate “access” to nabbing those nodes again after advancing, so long as you build up enough neuronal energy rather than having to re-unlock literally everything.
If its your first time, use the easiest mode! You’re welcome..if not you will be getting upset..unless you have the patience of a vulture

If you dont wanna lose mutations, skip a gen and evolve. Usually when you evolve elders have no mutations, adults do. And if you have automatic couples and babies, then The babies do as well. So pass generation to get the mutations you want on adults and elders then evolve. But always try to lock in at least 6(maximum) regular nodes before passing a generation. Which will require 6 kids, one reinforcement per kid allowed.

I have a question that I hope someone here can answer. If we had an elder with a desired mutation, but we also had a baby with another desired mutation, would skipping forward a generation(activating the baby’s mutation but killing the elder) make us lose the elder’s mutation? Effectively making us have to choose between the two mutations?

Think that was backwards. If you evolve while an elder or adult has the mutation, you _keep_ that mutation, but if a baby has it when you skip forward, that one is the one that’s lost.
@@alecLogan you lose mutations when you evolve and the mutation is on a baby, also when you pass a generation as an elder. The latter because you can only lock mutations in while evolving, passing a generation doesnt lock in mutations
I have a question I hope someone can answer, I have the genetic mutation needed to become bipedal and I have proprioception (the node needed to get closer to becoming bipedal). But my genetic mutation says my genetic mutation will become effective after the lineage’s next evolution, do I need to evolve or should I just keep training?
The child who has that genetic mutation needs to become an adult that's how it secures because if you evolve and the person who has the genetic mutation isn't a adult the genetic mutation will be lost. When the carrier is an adult you need to evolve to make the mutation active.

It's actually in many ways FAR more complex than many other survival games, mainly in how so many fundamental features that should have been explained aren't. Ironically the eating, sleeping,a nd drinking si actually EASIER than in most other survival games.

Babies who don't have mutations at birth if you carry them around for awhile and bring them back to the settlement and put them down a spontaneous mutation will unlock on it as well.

I'm 28 thousand years to the finish (2 028 000), but to evolve it says we have to make an evolution feat. Does it have to be a new one I've never done to be considered an evolution feat? I passed at least 4 generations since the last one and killed or dodged animals, pushed some animals to kill others, and I can't make an evolution....
Check through your feat lists (in the evolution window, zoom out until you get to the view furthest out, and the feat lists (and categories) should be your guide.

I still don’t understand what reinforcements are it’s says all reinforcements must be done if possible I have six and that number hasn’t changed. a4c2s0THC I FIGURED IT OUT!!! While on the Generation screen, hover the cursor over and select the glowing neuronal orbs (X button for PS4) you want to spend Reinforcements points on so the next generation will start off with those (All other neuronal orbs will have to be relearned from scratch each generation). Unfortunately, selecting an orb that is further down on a chain will cause all orbs in that chain to be selected as well, immediately spending more Reinforcements points. Thankfully, you can always deselect the neuronal orbs you spent your points on to regain your points to choose again before finalizing your decisions. Once you’re sure about which neuronal orbs you’ve chosen to reinforce and spent ALL of your Reinforcements points, the option to Change Generation shows up (Triangle for PS4)...It might seem complicated written out like this, but I hope this helps you some!

Unlock 1 feat, have 1 child and kill elders and adults for the smallest jump if it even moves forward. You need at least 1 feat to start but get extra time for births and less time for deaths.
How do I increase my dodging capacity
To increase your dodging capacity you must repeatedly dodge animals ( any kind will do, Green Mambas, Warthogs and saber tooth’s for example) just be prepared to get injured because your hominid will not be able to dodge animals early on.

Children with mutations, are gained at random, while the baby is piggybacking an adult. These mutations are specific and again random. Mutations are like the bo uses you unlock as you do stuff.

How do u get the attack mutation
First you gotta grab some kind of weapon such as a rock or stick. Then you have to find a animal. I suggest the green mamba near the sister arches or the giant warthog near the right side of the river near the arches.
You may have to get bitten or attacked to learn how to attack and dodge against predators and other animals
When you hear the Ching you go press the forward button to attack and right,left or back to dodge

You got too use your senses and scan things, or eat food in a unknown area. Then the game will say to follow the white dots on screen and then you can conquer your fears. Tip: stay in the trees for the most part so you wont get killed by predators.

As far as when to evolve, it depends. There are a couple factors that go into evolution: the feats you’ve performed (such as discovering a new region, dodging or killing an animal, crafting a new tool, etc.), the genetic traits you’ve reinforced (how many you’ve got reinforced and deciding which traits you wanna hang onto and not have to keep buying) once you’ve reinforced the ones you want the final factor in evolution, and arguably the most important, is genetic mutations. When you get a baby with a genetic mutation potential, you need that baby to reach adulthood (through a generation leap), when it reaches adulthood the genetic potential becomes realized and can be locked in once you do an evolution leap. So ideally you wanna discover as many genetic traits as you can before doing a generation leap, then you wanna make sure you have as many genetically mutated adults and elders as you can before doing an evolution leap (babies with mutations don’t get to keep their mutations during an evolution leap because the mutation never became realized by reaching adulthood, so it’s a balancing game between having more mutations or keeping the mutations you like over ones you don’t like: quality vs quantity, if you will). The other factor to consider before evolutionary leaps is the feats, how many you’ve completed and which ones. Feats add years to the evolution leap, so one feat might advance you 15,000 years for completing, another might only do 10,000. You also get a bonus amount of years added if you complete a whole section of feats (like discovering all uses for a tool or something).
So keeping in mind that the goal of the game is to reach humanity (or close to), you’ll want to consider how much time will advance when you do a leap, you can grind out a ton of feats and grab a few mutations to lock in, then leap farther than if you did very little in the way of feats. It all kinda depends on how fast you wanna move through the game’s timeline, but don’t worry, you’re almost guaranteed to not be able to advance too fast, so don’t stress about that. My first evolution leap brought me from 10 mil years ago to a little past 9 mil, but some people jump to 8 mil on their first, it depends on how much you did before your leap.

miliebobbybrown_mills nah, most of your leveling will happen naturally as you wander around and explore, so it’s not something to focus too much on. If you’re out wandering and wanna work on leveling something specifically though, you can do that. Like, I’ll sometimes go out just to hunt some animals and level my attack and defend traits while maybe unlocking some feats, but while I’m doing all that my other traits are being used and leveled, like my senses or communication or omnivore traits etc., as I walk through the jungle. But you could go out specifically to level hearing traits or something, I’ve just found all those level while I’m busy with other stuff.

@@030baller5 man, it’s been a couple months, so forgive me if any of this ends up being wrong, but I believe you can have quite a few reinforcement points per generation. You get one per baby (that’s usually the 4 you’re talking about), and you can get more by finding meteorites. The way meteorites work is they give you one reinforcement point per baby you have with you at the time you discover the meteorite (this is important because you can’t discover it, go home and grab babies then come back, it’s only the babies you have with you when you first discover it). I think the most I recall having for one generation was 12 reinforcement points (had 2 other adults with me, and we all had 2 babies each when we discovered a meteorite, giving 2 points per baby, 12 points total), but you have to make sure you have enough neurons to reinforce before getting that many points, otherwise any unspent points will be lost when you skip a generation. Hopefully that helps, lemme know if I need to clear up any confusion or anything.

It depends on how many evolution feats you unlock in between evolutions. The fewer you unlock, the shorter the evolution.

Hi! I struggled for a long time but got it down! (spoilers) Listen for the same sound/prompt as grooming/altering, thats when you let go of X or space, while pointing in forward direction, the screen rim will also light up/show a flash. Practice on a new family line that won't be your main. Small green snakes are easy to kill, make a pointed stick, make sure if you're holding 2 weapons that the stick is in your right. You can consume/apply preventative medicine before you go, for example horsetail paste and kat paste, or mud if in your area. Lemme know if anyone still needs help

Evolution is loosely based off of feats. If you have 1 feat to be able to evolve and only had 1 child, killing all the elders and adults the time will be minimal. Each birth adds time while deaths subtract time

precious stones usage is exactly the same as normal kind of stone (for crafting) and cannot be altered.
Also idk if this apply to all precious stones, but Meteorite and Diamond does hit enemy harder than unaltered obsidian/basalt/any normal stones.
While it's main purpose is for your evolutionary feats, it added a lot of years for your evolution, it's like collectible only.

The first thing I do when change to the next generation, I make 6 babies right away (max. babies), no Alabama allowed.
If I have 2 males and 1 female I make 1 baby for each male (more likely to have a genetic mutation) so 3 females and 3 males I mix them all up while avoiding incest and maximizing my chances to have genetic mutations, Im in the 3rd generation, a total of 18 babies have been born and I unlocked 4 gen. mutations
Conclusion:
more diversity = more chances of a genetic mutations.
More incest = less chances of genetic mutation even with practice.
NOTE: genetic mutations can apear with practice and mixing your apes with genetic mutation, As long as you dont do incest!!!!!!!
