The doorbell rings the first time: "Hi, my name's Joe. I'm here for Flo. We're going to see the show. Is she ready to go?"
The farmer grudgingly sends Joe and Flo off.

This definitely has me a little worried for any daughters I might have in the future.
My 15 year old daughter brought over her 18 year old boyfriend (her Mother, my Ex-Wife, had given her blessing).
I sat them both down and had an honest discussion with them about my reservations regarding their relationship.
I heard him say "don't worry, if I get her pregnant I will be there for her and the baby."
I heard the music from the DOOM video game and everything went red.
I don't remember anything after that.

I'm an uncle, the worst guy my niece brought to her mom's (my sister) tried to ask my nefew for crack, my sister definitely wasn't having any of that, i took the guy by the neck and walked him out and told him to leave, then grounded my niece for 3 months (all of summer)

My dad kept warning every male who entered our lives to be careful, because "this house is matriarchal". Noone got this, until our cousin came because she needed a help to get rid of a "problematic" ex. @@angenequenash5180 never had that issue. The Paramedics in my state get treated pretty fairly. You do have folks that don't understand what Paramedics have to go through once you become one. Medic school ain't no joke.

I dated this guy that after I dumped I found out no one liked, literally no one. Not my parents, not my aunt and uncle, not my friends and not my boss. My mom told me he used to stare at her boobs and butt. He was manipulative and cheated on me. I hate he had such a power over me for months, but thankfully I got out of that situation.
My stepdad (a former Naval officer and commercial pilot) is protective of me (which was pretty nice considering that my biological father was not a good person at all).
I brought home my first boyfriend when I was a freshman in high school and my Stepdad did NOT like him. At all. He pulled me aside when my BF and I got back from the movies and told me that I could do better.
I didn’t listen because of young love…and man did I come to regret that. The BF and I were in the toxic relationship from Hell. He was emotionally and verbally abusive with signs it was about to get physical when I learned he cheated on me. I confronted him and the punk sucker punched me.
When I came home with the shiner, Stepdad left. He came back an hour later and said “He won’t be bothering you anymore.”
I never did find out what he did or said…but my ex was out of school for the better part of a week, came back with a shiner of his own and whenever he saw me, he’d look like he had seen the devil himself.

To this day, I don’t understand why some very intelligent and actual nice girls will date absolute bums and scums when they could easily get so much better. Just to confirm, I’m happily married but this was a theme I saw repeat itself numerous times throughout my youth.
Sometimes it happens when you have daddy issues. Dramatic traumatic abandonment issues with you're Father. I can't remember the name of that syndrome. But I remember learning that in one of my psyche classes. Honestly too lotta girls including myself. Actually didn't go for that good guy. We wanted the bad guy to see as more attractive lol. You live and learn later in life.But yeah that thread sounded like those dads were pretty attentive. 😮So that's surprising .🤯😊
It can happen to anyone. You just usually hear about the “intelligent and nice” ones because they’re more noticeable, especially if they fall off the wagon. Sometimes it’s a modeling thing, from parents or media. Often it’s just a developmental thing. Hormones are difficult to ignore at a certain age, and abusers rarely begin as they mean to go on. They wait till you’re hooked.

It was me i bought the losers home. Always dated them cause as someone on dialysis with kidney failure i never thought any normal man with a career n not an addict would wanna deal with someone like me. But my current bf changed all that. Its almost 2 yrs n im still getting use to it.

Oh trust me my dad met several of my loser partner but the last two he wanted to murder as they were hella abusive. Edit: also dad wasn't the only male in my life to want my last two exes dead my brother, my male best friend, my ex/best friend etc all wanted them dead for treating me the sweetest person in the world like shit now I'm currently going on dates with an absolute sweetheart of a man in the town near mine and we haven't made it official yet as I still have trauma to deal with from my last two exes

Fathers, don't absolve your daughters for making bad choices, for whatever reason women like the bad boy looser. As a young man myself I truly don't feel even slightly sorry for people repeatedly making bad choices anymore. I've seen over a dozen of my former female classmates date players and are then surprised when it doesn't work out, it's actually quite entertaining at this point.
Sadly dads only hold sons accountable and not their daughters.
