@@rustysguitar1I've had a guitar for many years but unfortunately mine didn't come with an instruction manual. Retirement is on the very close horizon for me and committing time to make some progress is at the top of the "me" list. I'm looking forward to using many of your vids on my journey. Thanks again Rusty!!!
@skippytbk7891 wow! That’s exciting that you’re going to retire soon. I just retired about one year ago. And let’s keep working on this stuff together, my brother.👍
Thank you so very much for creating and sharing this content with those of us trying to make music. My goal is to be a decent rhythm player, this lesson is going to be a valued tool in making me better. Great advice to slow down. Thank you for sharing your experience knowledge and passion. BEST AND PEACE
Rusty, you’ve got a knack for teaching important things that others leave out, especially right hand work. You’re right, it is fun to play. I’d rather stay home and practice, and jam with buddies, than go see mediocre cover bands even if they are all the rage locally.
Oh man! Thanks for slowing down. I don't know about your other subscribers, but I have difficulty seeing your finger work at your regular speed. You're so talented that a moron like myself gets left way behind. Your hands are so relaxed that shapes get covered over. I simply couldn't discern BRV, ZZT, or DBs. When you slow down, I can play and replay it and replay over and over again until I get it. Thank you again.
Your no alone. I've message him about putting tab up he didn't want to. And also better camera. angals. He has good information if you are there yet. All this TH-cam video give a wow moment. There's a lot of information overload.
Almost 100 K ‘ love you my friend ❤. Enjoy your weekend Rusty .❤ I tried to send a tip but my iPad or something is buggy . I’ll make it up . Thanks for all your support and help with your teaching approach. Since I met you ( online ) I’ve been really excited and motivated to get out out intermediate guitar prison. I’m playing about three hours a day. Thanks 😊
Once again great lesson that really connects with us older rockers! ❤ Keep up the good work with all areas, soloing, rhythm, and theory. I really appreciate you covering all these important areas! Thank you 🙏🏻
Hi Rusty, Always a pleasure, I enjoy your rhythm sessions the most because your choice of music really suits me. A trip down memory lane while I practise. Thanks mate.
That was brutally good! You sure do know how to get my attention. I want to learn all those in your intro. Rusty you da man!! fist bump and man hug from this 65 yr old that loves your channel. Rock on my brother!
What a perfect way to start the weekend! Thank you Rusty! All the best from Belgium! By the way, your sound is amazing! I told you before, but I will say it again. 🎸👌🏼😎☀️
Great video with super helpful tips for nailing those classic rock rhythm guitar parts! The specific examples and techniques you demonstrated will definitely take my rhythm playing to the next level. Thanks for sharing your top 3 ideas and breaking them down so clearly. Rock on! 🎸
Love your choice of songs to teach different rhythms and methods. Learning certain techniques from popular songs builds a foundation of capabilities to play so many other songs, or create songs. A practice routine based on just this lesson will help so many get to the next plateau of playing. Well done!
Only just discovered your channel but have to say what brilliant lessons, you really understand the elements that make a guitar player sound good and your teaching is engaging and so good. Keep up the great work
Thanks Rusty, get your self a nice beer or coffee, or make some candles burn at your church for those you may have lost. I appreciate your free lessons so much, I hope you stay strong with peace and health on your side. For those who believe in god, be a good person, and good you will receive. I personaly I dont believe in dogmas, but what you give , you will receive. I call it destiny, others good carma. Peace and love for all around the world. Thanks Rusty !!!
Slow it down, slow it down, slow it down! It's tempting to try and play up to speed before having the technique down but the speed will come with practice. Good lesson!
Another great lesson. When you play a power chord like C or D up on the third and fifth frets, how do you prevent the low E from ringing out? I can’t use my thumb to mute the low E.
Thanks for checking out the lesson Scooby! I use the tip of my first finger and just barely touch the low string. That’s how a lot of players do it. Catch you later, bro.😎
Why do so many guitarists balk at counting, especially when playing with others and you need to get that basic groove bang on....?..I think they think they are past counting...
Many guitarists, including myself learned rhythm by feel. Most of our Guitar heroes do not count the up-and-down motion. Thanks for checking out the lesson.👍
Fantastic lesson Rusty! This will activate some light bulbs for many of us older beginners. Thanks so much for sharing your insights and wisdom!
Thanks a lot, Skippy! We can really connect with these old classic rock tunes! Talk to you soon, buddy👍

Can you provide the up and down arrows for each measure?
The best way to learn these techniques is to use a metronome and slow it down! Thanks for checking out the video👍

Thanks bro 😎
