    Loved this! Facing fears is a hard thing to do. A friend of mine learnt how to swim at an older age, went for adult swimming lessons for those who don't know how to swim; did it in secret and finally told all of us after he had learnt! Perhaps there are classes somewhere in Tokyo, it did absolute wonders for his fear of water, quite understandable if you don't know how to swim. Wonderful walk from Manly Beach - all these lizards are your friends, no need to worry unless you try to pick them up😊

    Oh Shinichi I’m so glad you went for a trip to Manly, I love Manly, I lived there for 15 months in the 1970’s. I had a 1/3 day there in November 2015, I had fish and chips from that exact seafood shop and it was just so delicious.. I also went on the walk you’re going on, it’s a really lovely walk.

    Way to conquer your fears! Great job, Shinichi. What a gorgeous, active day you had. And, doesn't food always taste so much better after working for it? 😋 Loved your shirt, btw. You looked so summery, fresh, and handsome. Thanks for taking us along with you! 💜

    I like the retrospect you’re doing in this video. I never like travelling and i just came back from solo travel in Japan. This took a lot of energy on myself to plan but not overly plan. Slow solo travelling seems to fit with me although i think I’d appreciate a companion or friend along the way, to share some of the experience but i don’t want to burden them with my own plans/interests.
    I think you did the best thing for yourself: go with the flow that your mood and body tell you to 😊. Walk where you want to go, eat what you feel like, slow down or stop to appreciate things around you. Hope you’re enjoying your journey to the fullest! All the best! 😊

      Why brave? We’re a very safe country to visit, and our good public transport system makes Sydney a comfortable place to navigate.

    Years ago when my niece was 3 I was visiting and needed to visit Sydney to pick up my passport so I offered to take her with me for an "adventure day" and we would see some ferries. On the ferry over to Manly she was looking into the water intently for so long I asked her what she was looking for. She said "I'm looking for the fairies, you told me we would see the fairies in Sydney!"

    Oh Sinichi, funnily I am planning a solo trip to Japan later this year (I am from Sydney). I congratulate you for pushing yourself past your comfort zone. I also get super anxious on ferries, and have a huge fear of flying as well. The first thing I look for whenever I board a ferry, I start looking for where the lifejackets are kept. I hope I am as brave as you on my trip to Japan.

    I'm sorry you don't like ferries. Ferries are so great! Last November I didn't take the Kagoshima ferry, but I took one from Kumamoto to Shimbara and one from Wakayama to Tokushima. Oh, and a boat trip around Kujyuku Islands in Sasebo. Darn it, now I want lemon steak! :)

    If you’re near water in eastern Australia you’re sure to find the eastern water dragon. They’re delightful and harmless, and definitely won’t attack you unless you attack it first.

    Oh, I'm so jealous! The city where I was born and spent my early youth. Lived in the Bondi Beach area. I now live on the other side of the world. You've been here also: Amsterdam. I would love to visit Sydney again, but it's kind of hard because of stupid immigration/citizenship laws. Anyhow have a fun time over there, it's a wonderful place to be.

    • @lmaree200886
      @lmaree200886 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you were born in Sydney why can't you come back? Did you give up your Australian citizenship to live in Europe?
      My grandfather came to Australia in the 60's from Switzerland and never became a full citizen cause he was too sick for the ceremony. He was in construction for over 30 years, got asbestos poisoning😢

    Emperor Garden Bakery
    1 Baked Char Siu Bao
    2 Ham Siu Gok
    3 Char Siu Bao
    Jian dui or fried sesame ball is more towards the sweet side with red bean, black bean, green bean.
    At the chemist you can buy magnesium oil which may help with your anxiety with water (this one you would massage).
    When you're back in Japan you can learn how to float (I tell this to many Asian migrants that move to Australia) this may help you lose some of your fear of water.

  • @kattrablake7008
    @kattrablake7008 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I suggest meditating on a floating dock over shallow waters. Just get used to the feeling of the movement while knowing the water is like waste deep and if anything happens you can just stand up. Also swimming lessons. You know the reason for the fears so remove the reason. I believe in you and I know you can be proactive in fighting your fears.

    I read the title and thought it was a Manly, aka he-man like adventure! I did not know that there is a beach called Manly in Sydney. I know this is why I watch videos like yours---I can learn about the world. And, therefore not be a total imbecile about geography! I would guess that those nice lizards are eating the spiders. And some other rather unpleasant critters!

  • @seebastian5834
    @seebastian5834 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    With a title like that, I was kinda expecting you to go wrestle saltwater crocodiles in the nude or whatever Australians might do to demonstrate their masculinity, but it turns out that's just the name of the place... facing your fears is pretty manly, though. Don't forget the reflection (what's the worst that could've happened, but didn't after all?) and positive reinforcement (feel proud for overcoming that hurdle) with exposure therapy, though.
