It sucks that I wasn't able to see Jamie Parker as Harry, since the tickets were sold out so quickly. But thankfully by the time I got to watch the play the new actor who played him was great as well. The costumes really look amazing. All of them are good, but Harry and Draco especially looked handsome and impressive.
It never really states it in the books, her description only says she has frizzy, brown hair, buck teeth, and is petite. It never really states her race
Because she's brilliant in the role! Just saw the play last night and she KILLED it playing Hermione. To me that's really what matters, if you can act the part. But other people's mileage may vary.
Jo Fetner There are a number of instances where she’s described as pale/ashen/blushing red based on when she’s scared or embarrassed. Also when she gets a black eye in the fifth book she’s said to resemble a panda. Her race was implied, and if you look at all the characters who *were* originally written as POC, they’re explicitly described that way-Cho, Lee Jordan, the Patil twins. If Hermione being nonwhite had been planned from the very start, it would have been presented equally clearly. I imagine the fact that Rowling retconned her own canon and initial intentions is a big part of why some people were annoyed by the change.
@@jo763 This is such a weak argument. Don't be one of those fools. Hermione is a white character in the books. That's not even open for debate. That however doesn't mean she can be portrayed by a black actress in a play. Noma Dumezweni did an amazing job, but no that's not how Jo intended Hermione to look.
Hm? The cursed child isn't a film, it's a stage production in London. Daniel Radcliffe is a screenplay actor, although he has recently done some Broadway productions.
Jamie Parker looks like an older Daniel Radcliffe, That's probably why they casted him besides his acting
I saw the play in October 2017 and I loved ever second cried at the end and met the cast so friendly
Cormac Hallihan You could meet the cast members after the show? I'm looking forward to see the show myself, I found the theatre but it was closed.

I love Jamie Parker even before he got cast in cursed child.
I wanted to see Delphi in this TH-cam video.
Me too, she’s so underrated. Not enough of her on the web.
I just want to see the play so bad!!! But I can’t because I live in freaking Sweden and the tickets sell out so quickly ugh kill me

Hermione negra
Why is Hermione Granger being played by a black woman when she is white!?
Rachel Zamora, yes my worry is also about it
It never really states it in the books, her description only says she has frizzy, brown hair, buck teeth, and is petite. It never really states her race
OH GOD SHUT UP! Racist people.... my god. Noma is a TRUE Hermione. This is one of the reasons that prove humanity is so racist these days...
River ruins thats not racism. People would be pissed if they had chosen a white actor for a black character.

Why is Hermione Granger's character person is chosen a dark colour lady
I mean Hermione was that dark
I didn't like only this in this play
😐🙄🙄🙄🙄
Harry potter rocks In the books her race is never described...
