Forever a lover of an all black outfit in combination with hero oversized item🖤 thank you Emma for your inspirational style and great videos. Wishing you a lovely Sunday
I’m glad I own a few of these pieces! It’s validating that my wardrobe is on track with some basics. I feel like I’m in the minority, but I’m not a fan of black at all! However, I find having a few of these staples in my wardrobe helps even things out. Thanks for the inspiration! 😊
Could not like this video more, black is my happy colour! 🖤 Back home in South América, black is usually reserved for mourning. Since I moved to Ireland, I mostly wear black, navy and neutrals (and I looooove it) and gotta say my mum was a bit in shock when she came over last year during winter, to say the least😂😂😂
Absolutely love your style and recommendations. I’m currently rebuilding a new wardrobe and carefully considering what key pieces I need. Thank you for all your amazing videos and photos🙌🏼💕
Hi Emma! Just wanted to send you some love! I just finished uni and started my first proper job. The last few years I've only replaced clothes that were absolutely necessary and most pieces in my wardrobe are 5-10 years old. So now I finally have the chance to build my wardrobe back up to fit my current style your videos are perfect! Especially last week's video was amazing but I love all your staples videos you're doing atm. On another note: have you ever tried something from the Cologne-based sustainable lable Armed Angels? They are doing DetoxDenim, the most wonderful knits and are about to launch their circular T-shirt (no waste!). Best wishes from Germany 😊
Thank you so much, I am really glad you are enjoying them. ❤️ I haven't actually tried anything from them but I have heard of them, I will have to take a proper look and give them a try 👍
I would definitely add black ballerina flats or a pair of velvet loafers. A bit more elevated than converse trainers for those times you want that look.
Love your videos Emma. Had a massive wardrobe clear out this weekend & I’m really thinking hard about the decisions I make now when purchasing any new item of clothing/accessory... “Is this classic?” “Will I wear this in a years time?” is what goes through my mind. I’m shopping less frequently & more intentionally. You’re helping me build my capsule wardrobe. Black is ALWAYS my go to, such a classic colour that will go with anything.
I recently acquired a black Elie Tahari blazer that I love. It was a new with tags, hand me down from a friend. One of my favorite designers - tends to really suit my body shape.
I would really love a video on outfits for the Christmas holidays (Christmas night, Christmas office parties, new years eve). It would be cool to have a video from a "minimalist" point of view (meaning using those staples we already have+maybe some new pieces). It would also be great to have it soon so we can prepare with time. I personally hate how those kind of videos always come out the same week as Christmas so there is no time anymore to prepare or buy anything one might need to purchase. Hope you read this. I really look up to your style and draw a lot of inspiration from it :)
Love black basics! I do hope you will do a video on Beige Basics next. I have always felt that a wardrobe has to have a set of accessories and basics in both black and beige in order to work. I love other neutrals, but for me black and beige are the foundation, everything else can build on that.
Speaking of black- just pinned a picture of you that popped up on Pinterest- black boot cut pants, oatmeal turtleneck, black suede Moro jacket. OBSESSED! I was like- oh that’s Emma Hill! You had really long hair!
OMG yes I remember that, I'm crossing a road right? And have a grey suede bag? That was quite a few years ago now and yeh my hair was long but it was extensions which, well, 'never again!' that's all I'll say 😂
For me the perfekt black Winter and bad weather bag is the petit Noe from lv in black Epi. But I also love to wear LV‘s azur canvas bags with black and greys
Emma! I loveeeeeeeee this video. I just need the perfect bag black bag, belt, and black coat!!!!!! Thank you for creating videos for women who want to do it their way ❤️❤️❤️
Kia ora from Aotearoa! Loving your videos! So EH Rule is no more than 3 colours and always add 1 tailored piece? Any specific advice for a "column" with 34DD chest? What to AVOID? What to attempt?
I was shying away from black since we got our little white fur baby, and then I saw the lint brush you use compared to mine which is rubbish. I've ordered the lint brush and a black summer dress from Mango❤️
As always, I love all the outfits. The black and beige combinations look so stylish together. You give me such inspiration as I have some similar pieces.
Loving all this content 🖤. Totally agree with all the staples you suggest. Especially the belt, I just want one that lays nice, has a gold buckle but no weird sticky out bits that make tops look weird over it. You’d think it would be simple but no! That bag though 😩😍.
Black is my favurite color to style. Black blazers are my thing fot more than 20years, and of course.. Black uunderwear 😂 thank you Emma for this inspiring video..
Hi Emma on this rainy damp Sunday morning irritatingly strumming my fingers on iPad as I am advised grocery delivery on its way but wanting to press play on your video without any interruptions 🙈🙈🙈🙈 08:52 finally he as arrived. 👏
Love this vid! Thanks for sharing your happy "colour" lol. I am so glad i'm not the only person haaaannnnnging onto that old black belt. Mine's been a work horse since 2000. Yep. Look every year at the Gap (where I bought it) and other shops. Have not been able to find a successor. And all your outfit inspos are bang on as always. xoxoxo
Hi Emma! Congratulations on your new home! The black square toed boots here have been haunting me. I can't stop thinking about them. I do have a question about them now that 11 months have passed. Are the boots comfy and are they true to size? I am still eyeballing them but I am worried they won't stand the test of time bc I am not sure whether square toed shoes and boots are coming or going in terms of style. Thank you!
LOVED this video! As luck would have it yesterday a pair of black converse high tops popped up on my local FB sale page, I snapped them up remembering that you wore them often and then you made this video! I am so inspired now and looking forward to wearing my #secondhandbutgrand purchase! 👏
Hi❤️, love this and last week’s video. The information is the best of the best. Tailoring is the key. As a petite (lean and 5’4), I was wondering your suggestions to add height to the basics. .....length of jackets and advice on oversized items that are so stylish....everything. I have a gem of a black Ralph Lauren ($) blazer, and thank heavens a belt and trim bottoms are in (?). Could you do a video on how to style items and suggestions for your shorter sisters, please? Black is my go-to, but, would love to find navy items to wear under my tweed blazers. Also, you are growing you hair I’ve noticed, and could you share your goal? You are our fashion “god”. ( little g, for goodness sake😘) The best of blessings to you and Simon... love you and pups to the Moon 🌝!!!!
I wasn't purposefully growing it but then lockdown happened 🙈 so I have kind of accepted it growing longer and am embracing it - although it needs a colour 🤣 My best suggestion would be to try and find a tailor that you trust and have some pieces tailored to suit your need - especially if they are quality items and will last forever ❤️ otherwise it is finding a petite range/brand that you like and trying some of their pieces 👍
Thanks Emma. I need new black trousers but I can't decide between cropped or full length. Which would you recommend if I am only buying 1 pair. I would hate to look dated next year.
It is down to personal preference, however longer trousers will be more suitable for the whole year and avoids the cold ankle situation in winter - plus you could always roll them up in warmer weather. I would just go with what you feel you will get the most wear out of ❤️
Perfect styling! Could you please make an video how to style Flattered Selma boots in black? Imjust bought one after your post on ig and they are beautiful but no idea how to style them;)
Im sure they will be making lots of appearances both here (I do have a boot styling video I am trying to work on) and on instagram throughout this AW season so keep your eyes peeled and I am glad you like them ❤️
Black and grey are my favourite colours to wear. Also long dresses and skirts when i want to dress up a bit or days when i feel a bit bloated or going eating have room for my belly. 😊 Cannot wait to see your daily vlogs. Also did you pick up anything in the Black Friday sale. With lockdown can only buy online.
Emma, do you size up in the Marks and Spencer cashmere crew sweater? I ordered a sweater from them and it was a little too clingy-- wondering if I should size up. I'm very similar in size to you... wondering if I need a 10 or 12?
@@EmmaHill Thanks. 6’1” So most blazers I’ve ever owned end up being push up at the elbows. Other items I get ok but a good Blazer to fit me is like gold dust 🤪
Another fab video; everything you wear looks great. I cannot find a video you did maybe 4 months ago and you are wearing a casual white shirt with light blue jeans throughout. My question is please is where is the white shirt from?

Black has been my favorite color for at least a decade now, I love this! :)
I’m glad I own a few of these pieces! It’s validating that my wardrobe is on track with some basics. I feel like I’m in the minority, but I’m not a fan of black at all! However, I find having a few of these staples in my wardrobe helps even things out. Thanks for the inspiration! 😊
Love this despite never wearing black! But switch out the black for navy and I'd say I'm all over this!
i am exactly the same , navy is my go to colour x
I prefer navy too. Just a bit kinder to your face.
Those Dear Frances black booties speak to me on a different level but they're so expensive and it breaks my heart
Try the ones from Sam Edelman

“ Release the kraken!” aka the charcoal grey blazer 😍 can’t wait for that to drop! Love the cut!
It’s like watching my own closet! We have exactly same style! Love it so much! You are my big inspiration 😍😍
Love this Emma! As my hair is transitioning into grey, black is now coming into my wardrobe more and I can tick off some key basics here 👍🖤🖤🖤

Great job Emma.

Brilliant video, Emma. You've shown the versatility of the item's visually, and they can be easily found within anyone's personal price range. ❤
Yes black will always be basic and classic. Thanks for the video.
Love that you have taken a turn away from over consumerism
I really cant fault this chanel. The only youtuber that doesn't irritate me
