    なんて細かい手仕事。美しい、心が洗われるような美しさ
    ふっくらした杜若の濃淡、大胆なのしめ、金箔やて刺繍
    振袖着れるのは親の手元にいられるほんの少しの間だけ、
    まるで子育てを見ているようでした。
    高価なお品になるわけですね。

    着物、反物については皆が評価するところがだが、それよりまして職人の技術の業の伝承
    に敬意を表したい。業があって美が確立される。 小生不器用なれば、ただただうらやましい
    仕事! それにしてもため息しかでない絶品です。

    Something that has always caught my mind. Japanese craft is about perfection.

    • @morganolfursson2560
      @morganolfursson2560 5 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      It is about attention to detail. Perfection is never an aim in Japanese culture, it is a consequence . The aim is to pay attention to detail and to do one's absolute best without ever compromising .

    • @13gladius28
      @13gladius28 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It's not about perfection bcz perfection doesn't exist, it's an ideal. Exemplary craftsmanship is a labor of love not perfectionism

    • @morganolfursson2560
      @morganolfursson2560 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@13gladius28 Don't you believe that the golden ratio is universal perfection ?

    • @13gladius28
      @13gladius28 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@morganolfursson2560 Is the golden ratio a man made thing or a discovery? How is a yuzen a perfect thing? Art is contraction for artifice; a man made imitation of a natural thing. Is a yuzen work of art or a wprk of perfectionism? Is it created as a labor of love or as the work of an obsessive compulsive disorder? Is beer created to be perfect or rather to be enjoyed with a good meal. What makes one wine better than another, is it perfectionism? 2+2 = 4. You can drink to that but can you drink it?
      Is the yuzen created to show *perfect* renditions of natural forms or is it a art form (artifice). Yes the is somewhat of a perfect symetry in sizes and shapes but it's not created to with perfect abstract symetry as it's primary focus, is it? You stupid f'ing douchebag

    • @13gladius28
      @13gladius28 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@morganolfursson2560 "Is the eiffel tower an imitaion of nature"? Uh yes, you moron. It's the artificial rendering of substances (metals etc) not naturally occurring thus it is artifice. The Eiffel tower is a type of Egyptian obelisk and the Egyptian obelisk symbolizes a ray of the sun coming to earth as the sun god Ra into the primordial mound. So yes the eiffel tower is an abstract representation of a natural phenomena
      "Does perfection exist in nature"? If everything were perfect as is there'd never be any change but obviously change is the one universal constant that can be relied upon.
      Drinking beer by itself is fine but do you drink it bcz it's perfect? You can spend 5 hours looking at a bowl, wow ! Do you look at it bcz it's exemplifies perfection or due to something else? 2+2 is a perfect mathematical equation so since you love admiring perfection why don't you have mathematical equations plastered all over your walls? You haven't a clue have you?
      Picasso's art sells for millions. Is it bcz it displays perfection? HaHaHa!!! You doofus, you haven't a f'ing clue wtf!!!. Ceramic floor tiles need to be perfectly symetrical (in most, but not all) cases. When you have them installed is it the perfect symetry you admire most? HaHaHaHa!!!
      The yuzen, as many other works of art, is admirable for the love and passion expended on it's creation and *not* for the perfect rendition of forms, you doofus

    Wow, this just looks sooooo gorgeous 🥰 I love how these garments are the exact opposite of our clothing culture nowadays. That there's so much craftsmanship going into they're making, there,'s no left-over pieces of fabric when they're sawn, that they would be cherished, passed on as heirloom pieces even and repaired rather than throwing them out 🥰

    that's almost too much . this is the quintessence of textile dyeing and embroidery , Kimono are by far the most sophisticated outfit in terms of design and one of the most simple in terms of cutting and stitching, i love this contrast, all is about how the design, this is the opposite of western clothing where what matters most is the cut.

    I'm not sure about particular dye they're using in this video, but synthetic dye is mainly used noway day.
    In the past, or maybe some traditional Japanese yuzen craft hose still use traditional dyes which are vegetable dye, such as polygonum tinctorum, safflower, sappan, rubia, and animal origin dyes like cochineal insect.
