ABOUT ME:
I’m Liam Harrison, Bolton born and bred. I’m a lover of Golf, life and laughter.
Started Golf 12 years ago after packing in football when i was 28 due to a back injury.
I started the TH-cam channel as a laugh and a Wim, to make me practice but that went out the window as i started vlogging, loving being on camera but more so the interaction with my #golfmates.
In 14 months i have seen the channel evolve and become the only real golf community on TH-cam which i am extremly proud of.
I would like to thank all the #golfmates that have been with us and supported us and the channel from the start. Also not forgetting our new #golfmates that may have only just come across the channel.
As a Middle School golf coach I always tell my athletes to kill their egos. That is the lesson from OMP, don’t let your ego control your true ability. Thank OMP and Liam! Good video on management!

OMP hasn’t got clubs,they are magic wands. He should be the headmaster at Hogwarts. I am going to take a leaf out of his book in a competition tomorrow and play within myself and try to make use of the shots I get and not try to reach everything when I know it’s a dodgy shot.

I had exactly the same idea. Liam give it ago. Handicap yourself by clubs instead of shots. Only play your club that goes the same distance as his. I'd love to play him at his own game 😉.

Part of my pre shot routine these days includes the thought 'what would old man Pat do?'. That simple thought alone has got me playing some of the best golf I've played since taking up this crazy game 3 years ago.

I have been watching OMP alot. I have been struggling with my game. Played first round d like OMP plays yesterday, shot a 97. Had a very bad par 4 that turned into a 9 on the card and shot 4 doubles. Ill be a bogey golfer in a month, only play on Saturdays. Been 3 years since I played. Love the game. Just wanted to thank OMP for the video lessons and wisdom.
Did exactly this the other day and had the best round of my life.. Love this guy and these videos..
Basically, OMP takes the pressure of himself by playing lower risk shots. This keeps him out of trouble and with a bit of luck puts him into a scoring position. Genius; we all should try this.
By the way, that driver off the deck shot was absolutely mint! What a scorcher

How many times do you see people or try to smash the ball as far a the pros on the telly. we are all tense and wound up. Just relax and play this is key to the game OMP plays. its such a relaxed game within his own capability, there is no pressure on the shots. Great Stuff again lads.
Pat is a true golfing great. Knows how to get the best out of what he has. My mate Kev has what he calls his 3rd shot rule which Pat plays to perfection. When you asked best course played for me anywhere as long as I get one game with the master.
The best example of playing to your strengths in golf on You Tube. Every pro from Crossfield to Shiels should show OMP as The classic example. Legendary Pat, it's a privlige mate.

Unbelievable!! OMP has all the shots. Guess we could all learn from him. The one shot I use is when I am right up against a tree or another obstacle is an alternative way if you're naturally right-handed and play the game that way, is to stand with your back to the target area and grip the club just with your right hand turning your club facing backwards. I would like to see OMP play this shot if possible. Thanks Liam and OMP.

The man the machine the legend. Pat does what we all should do, that is he never forces it plays to his strength's lesson for us there. I reckon Pat could give lessons to Handicap players. Like to see him play with mid handicappers and instruct them over a few holes how to score.
Would love to see a video about getting and maintaining stamina over an 18 hole. My game always gets worse the more exhausted I get? Am I swinging too hard etc. Btw I’m not sporty like, but not overweight either.

Great vid Liam and OMP, as a high handicapper I find these golf vlogs really useful. OMP breaks it down clearly and simply and it makes proper sense. I'm sure it was you and OMP did a vid about putting off the fringe not chipping before, I've used that method ever since and my green scores have been way better . Maybe OMP and Dave should do a few Tip Friday vids together!

This is my favorite golf channel and you and OMP are just awesome! Every time I watch and listen to you and OMP I am reminded that it is the person who stays within and maximizes their limitations who stands best, not the person who hits the furthest or even the best (60 degree wedged flop shot onto the green).
If you watch and begin to think like OMP through every shot on the course, no matter where you are in your game you'll improve it by at least one stroke each time you go out, and that - round-after-round, will add up over time to a nice maintained and FUN level with where you are at; instead of a tortured round of over-reaching, duffing, thinning and spazzing out LOL.

No way would I be trying to land a 7 iron chip on the fringe before the green(that was sheer class btw).
I would 100% believe that feat is a harder shot for average golfers than a simple chip with a more lofted club.

I’m a big fan of your channel have been a #golfmate for going on 6-7 months now. I have been considering buying me a camera setup and start shooting me and my golf buddies days on the course and would like any helpful tips. We are not pro by far just average everyday golfers that do it for the love of the game. Thank you coming from Alabama. I'm 71 and a high handicapper. OMP is my hero. I intend to take his approach to the course this season to see if I can lower my handicap. I'll let you know how the OMP method works!

OMP is right make it simple i hear so many people moaning about the old boys playing it in low all the time stone dead when they trying to lob it in with there million degree wedges from 3 yards off the green just makes me laugh and then wonder why there handicap so high but keeping it simple is not always easy these old boys have been and still are very good players and i use the term old boys as a reference i hope im as fit as OMP at 77 love him

Thank you so much for the videos Liam, I'm learning so much from it and try and apply OMP's way of playing in my game to eliminate risk. I am a 21 handicap, but has shot scores as low as a 83 already this year and that included only one birdie and 2 triple bogeys. The mentality of a bogey is okay has made a huge difference in my game, thanks to your videos and OMP.

I got the best par of my golf life because of this legend, 360 yard par 4 water hazzard in middle brought into play as I carry 200 bounce and roll 220-230, I played through driver easy landed a little out to right about 180 yards, Six iron went 160 to left front of green, bump n run to front of green and then held a 15 foot putt for par. If I wasn't listening to OMP I'd of hit it as hard as I could and probably dunked it in the middle water hazzard. OMP knows the score!!!

Maybe if we all left our ego's in the car park and 'accepted our limitations' then we'd all be much better golfers? My son (who plays off 6) says I (who plays off 17) don't play bad shots I make bad decisions (3 woods from the fluffy stuff, trying to make the green from 200yds+ etc..) which is what Pat is saying in a round about sort of way. Maybe I'll try and take it easier this weekend.....
This is good stuff this Liam, as a golf instruction video it's more valuable to me than a teaching pro spending 15 mins talking through the theory of a shot without actually hitting a bloody ball!!!!

Fantastic Liam and OMP. OMP you make golf just look effortless. I think I've said this before but the game looks elegant the way you play. I am going to to what you said Liam, just except that I am not going to reach so why try play the course not just hit as far as possible. That's why I think I enjoy playing the old clubs more than the new stuff.

Loved the video. I know personally, I struggle with shots that go in the woods. How could that be played?
Omp's tips from the top ! Years of experience in those hands. All golfers would benefit from accepting they are not going to play their best Sunday shot every shot... especially when they have hit it in trouble! Manage your expectations of what is realistic and you will see your score improve . Omp out-thinks you ...therefore out-plays you most of the time.
Dam OMP its hard enough to hit a driver off a tee let alone off the deck that's why your a legend !!! great vid Liam thank you OMP for showing us how simple golf can be ! I think sometimes we over think golf and we make it harder than it should be, like the channel says golf mates together having fun.

I think Pat played off 2 a decade or so back, once a good player always a good player. I love the way pat thinks his way around the course trying his best to play to his handicap. Yes i would like to know what Pat has in the bag.
Have you noticed that OMP sets up for his shot then moves his right foot back half a step for all his wood shots and all but the shortest of his iron shots. Is this his "magic move" and should we all copy it? Interesting.

I read 20 years ago, if you hit it 150yards straight every time you would par the course.
