    Super helpful. Furthermore, the resource map for planets are the same, so you can land in the exact point at 2:07 and get a border. The planet layout may be different (landmarks etc), but I've heard the nodes are the same. I headed south east for ~500m and found the overlapping 4 nodes.

    i've seen so many videos in the last three hours and you're the only one that has actually helped me because you told us what we should be looking for rather than aimlessly walk around. i was able to find the perfect spot with aluminum, helium-3, beryllium and iron. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

    More tips for this very helpful video
    1. He's spot on about ditching the spot if you can't see the gradient right off. Pop on top of the ship, look around, move on.
    2. When looking for a border zone in the Resource View - its the biomes that matter, not the color. Stuff that isn't colored counts as Iron on this planet
    3. I got lucky when I zoomed in super close when picking spots. I found a tile that bordered three colors (remember blank counts as a color) and landed there

    Finally a vid that mentions what type of area to visibly look for while planet side. I didn't know you have to spot out the red and blue. I thought you just pick a zone between and hopelessly wonder till you find it. I've been at this for hours. This should be quite simply now,thanks. Also that's your top left ,not top right.

    • @squipy
      @squipy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep and you can use the color strategy for any future planet/moon outpost to get multiple resources easier. Top right shows your available resources once your outpost is built, top left shows what resources you will be able to extract before you put your outpost down.
      Also note: it's free to delete any object in your outpost or if you want to move your outpost around a little.

    This is the best advice that helped me. When you land jump up and down near your ship and DONT USE YOUR SCANNER at first until it's a waste of time instead look at the actual ground and if your in the right spot you can see the divide of the colors blue and red.... you'll see it plain as day it'll be very obvious. I spent an hour last night using my scanner and other methods but it's a waste of time, this method it's the best one. It may take a couple times landing and what not but you'll see that divide clearly. Once you do it once you'll understand and then it'll be really easy to use this method again.
    Sometimes your screen will be all blue or all red and that means you're not close to the border.
    In my case I landed on the aluminum side so its all blue, so pretty much the bottom half of my screen was all blue and then the upper half I could see the line of red of where the iron starts YOU CANT MISS IT if your close.
    You can walk around a little bit by your ship put by jumping you can see really far away .If you can't see the line when you're jumping in any direction just move your ship slightly. I had no hope last night but with this method it's easy did it today in 5 minutes

    • @squipy

      Just keep landing in the middle between colors, and you'll eventually land on a spot with both red (alum/hel) and greyblue(iron) all within eye shot. If you don't see both colors when you land, fly to the next spot and don't waste your time.

    I managed to find one on Linnaeus IV-b, similar to andraphon. On that planet, the color of the terrain is red for iron and pale for aluminum, opposite from this video I guess? Like the video, I flew to about ~10 locations that the resource map showed the colors for He3, Fe, and Al close together. I walked about ~2 minutes from each site in a straight line. Finally, at one landing site, the resources shown in the top left corner switched from Al, to nothing, to Fe. So like the video, I followed the boundary between Al and Fe until He3 showed up. I'm not sure outpost building is all that useful or cool yet, but this was bugging me.

    • @squipy
      @squipy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You need two helium extractors per gas generator. After you build the helium extractors, go to modify mode. Right click to set your outputs to a gas generator. Then you have to walk over to the generator and turn it on with E if it's off.
      Note: you need enough solar (one per helium extractor) to run your helium extractors to begin with.
