It feels being in a sauna for months, all cramped and over-snug, and finally as soon as we get to breathe after breaking open the cocoon we are so sweaty but relaxed and then after 2 weeks we faint and die the end beautiful story
They don’t feel cramped because they digest themselves and rebuild themself so by the time it’s rebuilt it’s usually already breaking out and when they are digested guts they don’t feel anything
Well, your talking about Attacus Atlas, the atlas moth. That one's called the snake's head moth in Cantonese. And yes, almost all Saturniidae moths are like this.
They say the flame that burns twice as bright, burns for half as long. Well this species, Hyalophora Cecropia, the largest in north america, lives for just 2 short weeks.
Hi, there! It's me, Rain, again! Wow! What a truly beyond fascinatingly amazing vidio this is! Such a very gorgeous moth, and such a cute looking caccon too! So fasinating! I know I most definitely have to say, if I where a butterfly in the same position as that moth, I would probably likely be literally puuuuushing and puuuuuushing and paaaaanting and gruuuuunting and shoooooving with every Fibre of my being to get out of that tight thing! I know I can just Imagine myself saying," ooooooo- ooooof- ooooo- puuuuush, ooooo, shoooooove, oh, oh, oh, come- oooooof- onnnnn, cooooome- ooooon, pu- pu-puuuuuuuush! Ooooo, come- onnnnn, coooooome- ooooon, I- ummmmpf- haaaaave- ooooow- tooooo- pu, pu, pu, puuuuuuuush, ooooof, owwwww, ooooof, ummmmpf, oooooo, huuuuuurrrrrgppppfffffh!" Lol! I love this vidio! Rain.
Misleading. The Cecropia moth builds a horizontal and durable Cacoon which is pretty unique looking for a giant silk moth. It would have been nice to show it so your viewers can spot it in nature.
Does anyone know how long does it take for them to fully spread their wings? Mine was hatched yesterday morning, and now its been around 30 hours + and her wings are not fully opened. I am worried at this point. Please, help...
@@christipuffinburger4086 I signed up for a "Bug Forum" that same day. From what I found out she was deformed. My poor girl stayed the same. When the sun was almost down, that same day, I climbed a tree in my yard, and put her as high as I could. It was so sad. She was trying to flop her wings constantly...She knew she must fly but could not. Luckily, it is the tree that she would cocoon naturally, so she would emerge on this tree ( if not in my jar :)) . I originally found her as caterpillar on one of my apple tree, right next to this one. So, I just let her go. Hopefully she was able to attract a male, they live so little.
@@yulkabubble1954 aw I am so sorry to hear that! was she still able to mate? I made a cage last night from a cardboard box and this morning at 5 am two males were flying at her. She's been mating with the one since then. I am hopeful she lays eggs so I can try again and next time. Hopefully the wings won't be deformed. :(
@@christipuffinburger4086 I have no way of knowing how she did, unfortunately. After I put her on the tree she crawled up really high and at some point I lost a track of her. I would like to think that she met her man that night :)))
I did the worst thing today. I was fixing my garage door and saw what I thought was wet cardboard stuck to inside of door. I scraped it off and was wondering what it was. Well upon scraping it off I tore it open and saw yellowish fluid gush out! I googled it and yes it was one of these beautiful moths which probably had another month or so of coming out. Please people don't make me feel any worse 😰😰😰😭😭
oh well...... I've made mistakes like that too. like one day, there was a fly in our house and while I was trying to kill the fly, I felt something wet under my foot. I looked down and I had stepped on a caterpillar, it was still slightly moving but liquid was gushing out, and it was not going to survive. I thought to myself, if just I was paying more attention, I would have a caterpillar and be able to raise it into beautiful moth. it was all my fault.... but everybody makes mistakes.
it's such a fuzzy boy and I love it
wow cool butterfly
Poof it’s a female and a moth
And no one talks about how incredibly beautiful his eyes are.
Her* it's female
@@wolfbanesons you are taking about the moth right?
@@adamkhattou8694 yea
I feel like John Hammond from the first Jurassic Park when he's watching the egg in the lab hatch. "C'mon, push. Push!"
Even their little cocoons are cute! Honestly I have to wonder what that feels like....
Cramped?!

Imagine being wrapped up in a paper bag which is inside of *another* paper bag, and having to crawl or scratch your way out.
They don’t feel cramped because they digest themselves and rebuild themself so by the time it’s rebuilt it’s usually already breaking out and when they are digested guts they don’t feel anything
prolly like being in a wet plastic bag barely big enough for you to move in that you have to crawl/scratch your way out of
So cool! I'm raising cecropia moths myself and I can't wait for mine to hatch!
So.... how did it go?
Unfortunatelly a fever took him..
I remember the cecropias wings bears the image of a snake to scare off predators(birds)
Many saturnidae species have this trait...
