I took my R50 years ago to a guy in Bacup in Lancashire, he replaced my gearbox and clutch in less than 2 hours without dismantling the car to bits, without a ramp to.
Absolutely loved this IMM update. Thanks for sharing. Oh what fun and frustrations and thank goodness for Matt Green…. The Rally Picture-Rama was really cool and all the sites going and coming must have been wonderful. Hopefully you were able to see Katrin’s family as well…
Overall… sounds like a trip we made a few years back. Planned on taking the classic mini, but ended up renting (hiring) a convertible Bini. We have AAA coverage, but their packages are no where near as extensive. Basically all they cover is up to 200 miles of towing which is great for local drives with old cars. Glad y’all had a great time
About 10 years ago we went to France in our Rover 100 convertible, we broke down near Lyon I think and the AA were brilliant, we went to a hotel and we collected a hire car the next day and get this the wife the day after crashed that into another car on the motorway so we got another hire car and a couple of weeks later late at night in Dover collected a UK RHD car for the journey back home. About 10 days later I answered the phone and it was a car transport company saying they were in the street, I remember saying why is that? and the driver says we've got your Rover! So I've always been with the AA and always has Europe cover. Not sure if there's certain levels or after Brexit something has changed?

Wow that’s impressive
Your positivity is commendable!

I still can't believe the first time I saw you was on the Autobahn on the way home...! I'll come over for a beer soon.
That’s was so funny seeing you on the way home

An electric mini on the Isle of Wight would be ideal!!... never run out of range!😂
Yea you are 💯 right the island is perfect for electric ⚡️ if I could afford one I would get one as a daily driver 🫶
