  • During the 1960’s, NASA was under a huge amount of pressure to land humans on the Moon by the end of the decade. But without the help from a truly unique aircraft, NASA would have struggled to assemble the massive Saturn V rocket in time and their ambitious goal might never have been achieved.

You said that Apollo 11 landed on the Moon with just five months to spare on Kennedy's promise to land a man on the Moon and safely return him to the Earth In that decade!
(Or words to that effect.) "If I have said this once I have said this a thousand times"
The Romans used Roman numerals to count with! In the year 1 BCE the Romans controlled the Holy Land of middle east and most of the western world. Roman numerals do not have a zero!
So the year 1 BCE was followed by the year 1 CE. Notice there was no zero year.
The first decade started on January 1, 1 CE and the first decade ended on December 31, in the year 10 CE. All Decades end at the conclusion of the zero year. So the 1960's Did not start until January the 1st 1961 and did not end until
      December 31, 1970 was over!
It is Just that simple! (So really Apollo 11 still had 16 months and 7 days at the conclusion of its flight. !)
Forget What the T.V. Talking Head's Keep Saying!
