Great video one of the best I've seen on showing capabilities you move through quickly and show number readings to match what it was you were detecting keep up the good work
I have not...but I am familiar with it. While it is a proven detector...the GM1000 or even the Gold Kruzer are leaps better in my personal opinion. I am a multi-brand dealer if you want to talk pricing. thehuntergt@gmail.com is my email.
Okay another q for you.. if you're trying to stay in the $300 range, without buying additional coils, then what's the choice for small placer gold targets? Simplex+? GB?
My bos can i ask a favor can u pls show me the serial # of ur gold bug pro.what does it looks like? .i have mine here im not happy with my gold bug pro .this is like a fake fromchina it perhaps. Tnx
I own the goldbug pro and have all sizes of coils. Perfecting techniques is key! As for buying for $299? Nope. Not happening! This is mostly used for gold hunting! This is the best reasonably priced gold detector. Minelabs are expensive.... But GoldBug will find the gold without breaking the bank!
I notice you did this several months back. Do you still have and use the Gold Bug? If so how has it held up, does it continue to perform well? I enjoyed the vid as well.
This is my wife's detector and she still has it. In fact - check out some of my newer videos with the Husband VS Wife in the name and you will see this machine is a coin hog with the 5in DD. Cuts through trash like butter and gets a good 6-7 inches on a quarter in medium soil. We plan on getting her a larger coil soon so she has a bit more depth for open fields and parks. Thanks for watching and commenting.
First, love your reviews. Thank you. Second, I would like your advice. I have two main goals, meteorites and gold. Looking at the Fisher Gold Bug, Gold Bug Pro, Gold Bug ll and F75. Which do you suggest for my purposes? Right now I am torn between the pro and ll. Thanks, Mark
Thanks Mark, I appreciate you enjoying the videos. The Gold Bug 2...in my opinion...is best suited to a mineshaft and extremely tiny deposits in washes. Newer tech like the Gold Kruzer - AU Gold Finder - Gold Monster are much better suited in my opinion for open field (deeper) placer deposits. For meteorites, most detectors will hit the iron type...it is the stony type meteors that will be hard or next to impossible to hit. The Gold Bug Pro would be better suited there as it has a much better iron response than the GB2. The Pro will hit birdshot easily...so only get the GB2 if smaller than birdshot is the goal.
Gold Bug Pro. Make sure "Pro" is on the screen face! Order coil cover protectors too! If you'll be in a very windy noisy locations, be sure to get premium headsets!
F19 - G2+ - Time Ranger Pro are all identical. Only the faceplate and grips are different - and branding (for MAP price structuring). F11-22-44 are not made for prospecting being 7.7kHz.
Thanks for the review. I ordered one from bass pro for $375. Far and away the cheapest price I can pay for what seems like a very good gold detector. Hopefully it will help me find some gold!
Most people with a GB are looking to identify gold, not dimes and such. Show the performance reading on a gold target, flakes are a nugget! That's would be better. Thanks
Actually Jim...most people use the 19khz machines as coin shooters and relic hunters since the ID is so rock solid. (Gold Bug...F19....G2+) When you send me some of your gold nuggets...I'll be happy to make a part 2. Until then....
Coin shooters want depth and solid ID. Deep silver being the target...not shallow clad. The machines that do that usually cost a pretty penny. The CTX3030 is over $2000 and many consider the best coin shooter on the market. Others favor the F75 LTD platform on coins...it was $1200 at one point. I like the GB2 for smaller gold....but the newer 19khz machines like the Gold Bug and G2 and F19 will absolutely go deeper on a larger nugget. They are no slouch on the small stuff either hitting half a gram with no problem. You have a very sensitive detector in your hands that doubles as a great relic and coin hunter too. Something the GB2 does not double as.
@@thehuntergt Thanks because i have a gold coin the size of a penny and it sticks to just 80-81 no matter how many times i scan it its always the same numbers 80-81 so wanted to know if other types of gold give different numbers
You should of purchased the Fisher F19 instead, $449. Its a more advanced, Gold Bug Pro with added features, it should of been named the Gold Bug Pro Advanced or Alpha, instead of f19.
@@thehuntergt I live in Southern AZ and was trying to use a Silver uMax which has been worthless to me here. Just got a great deal on a Gold Bug and it seems like it will be a much better fit for me.
what machine would be a cheaper comparison to this one I live in a desert area outside Vegas like to try to find gold nuggets I was looking at the bounty Hunter tracker IV with a 4inch coil would that work.
For a serious prospector wanting to find gold - this is about as cheap as it gets. The Tracker 4 (even with the 4 in coil) would miss some of the smaller stuff. The Land Ranger Pro from BH can be had for about $250 on Amazon....in all metal it can hit a BB sized object.
Most small nuggets will land in the low foil range...so 40-55 range. However, you should not use the ID at all when prospecting. Go by the audio and dig everything...every tiny whispers...every bit of birdshot.
Dario Barreto yo también compré uno y es algo complicado identificar que es lo que marca ya que los números cambia mucho por ejemplo un oro de 14k me marca 64
Those are both PI based and very expensive. They are made for larger and deeper nuggets. They will miss the smaller stuff this one will hit. However, this one will miss the larger and deeper ones. A trade off.

Goes deeper and separates very well. Recovery speed does not suffer at all. I prefer the 5x10 coil over the 11DD however. Hits the sweet spot between the 5in DD and the 11in DD
This would work for that. It just won't detect the gold meters away. You would need to be within 7-8 inches for coins and such. However if they were stacked gold coins or jewels a couple feet might be possible.
You are right you could not pay for the machine with 400 quarters - you would need 1200 quarters - as this is a $400 detector (at time of video). Are you asking if it hits gold? Yes - obviously - as the name implies - and the gold ring in the video showed you. I did not have small gold nugget to test so I used a BB to show sensitivity. In my newer gold detector reviews I do have sub-gram pickers on display.
You keep telling people to send you some gold so you can do a nugget test....any chance your wife has some small ear rings or stud ear rings to test this machine on? I think that is what we would like to see! Just a thought. Mike in sunny Florida
I have small gold I test now. My last 3-4 gold detector reviews - and my last 10 normal detector reviews all show sub gram pickers. I no longer have this detector - but it will hit birdshot small gold. I am no longer married. Take care. 👍

Nickels and gold rings sound a lot alike so nickles are a good thing to be finding if you want gold rings.Great review my brother.
Thanks Kevin. You are dead right. Nickels and gold can often be the same ID and sound...for sure. Dig those nickels and gold will come eventually.
Nickel has been used in gold rings less than 22 k. Used to reduce wear-down of rings!
