they do indeed i play the violin and i play the oboe parts cuz we don't have one everyone too scared. lol i play the flute part and oboe parts sometimes and on a VERY rare occasion i get to play my OWN part (UwU had to add that)
I was in a band class we had like 2 clarinet players, apparently 2 oboe players, but 1 never showed up to class, like 5-6 flutes, (me being one of them), 3 percussion, and i kid you not, 7 low bass players. They had to be quiet and everyone else had to be loud so it could work.
