Almost 9 years ago I found this music and this beautiful cover while I’m was laying in my bed, trying to kill the pain off a broken relationship. I saw this video so many times that the chorus of this music is in my Facebook bio, i learn the lyrics without noticing. Have passed too many years and this week, I don’t know exactly why, i have that same feeling again. The girl gone ahead with her life, is married now, while she keeps coming back in my head since then. I love this cover, but the memories are too painful, and makes me wonder, how i could pass through that time without losing my mind.
The National is by far one of my favorite bands ever! Love the cover, it plays great tribute to the band. There is a documentary about them called Mistaken For Strangers, it is made by Matt's brother. It is something right up Tessa's alley, check it out!
Hell of a story... Most songs are beautiful on their own, and most artists will craft or cover something wonderfully even without context; but with a memory like that at your back.... It feels personal and intimate. Even though we're only experiencing it secondhand- like smoke.

I've been a die hard fan of The Nationals for many years now, and until now, I'd never heard a cover that satisfies me. Some good, technically better than yours (but it may be just a question of experience !), but I never found a soul in them. As a previous poster wrote, you made this song your own.
