well...not really, it still goes out the stack on the left. a little smoke trickles up across the entire bottom, versus all of the heat coming up on the fire box side. This is how it evens temps. smoke is till everywhere, just the heat is more distrbuted. it gets similar results to a reverse flow, but it doesn't revers the flow. :)

Wouldn't this ultimately turn your offsets smoke direction? Instead of the smoke going over the meat, it would just come from under, no?
