I think Nina view on taking from the rich and give to the poor is very true to teens. I'm sure alot of teens feel that the world sucks so I should be allowed to suck too. As a teen you 1st see how much is wrong with the world so it's easy to do dumb/bad stuff and think it's ok. In her end we see that she grows up to just stop crime and take justice in to her own hands. If she gets married she grows even more and decides to become a philanthropist. As all of us she finds her self as a teen then grows from her mistakes to improve

1japanfan Well duh, she's an optional unit in an optional route. Also, unlike with Awakening and Genealogy's children, Fates' kids don't really have a reason for existing making all of them less memorable overall.

I wouldn‘t call Ninas world view stupid, rather i would say that she knows that she’s harming some people, but she also helping helping the people who need help. She seems to want to do what she believes is right.
I mean, think about it: if she steals from the 1% and gives to the poor, then the poor don‘t have to do awful things to get the money to feed their famalys. It seems that she wants to prevent people to do the same thing that her father did.

Baggett Brighten Some maps are kinda cool (Kill me, but i liked Conquest Chapter 10), the music is fine (Road Taken, for example), some characters are tolerable (although they have the tendency to characterize some characters with a single trait, like Setsuna's trap "fetish")
Honestly I loved some of the maps like camilla's underground map in birthright
I think the number one thing I don't like is how they messed up the weapon triangle! I can never remember the bow hidden weapons and magic part. I just wish bows were neutral, hidden weapons were kinda like a weaker sword class like PoR and RD did and i want my trinity of magic back. 😬

You Squidding Me? I thought Fates was okay. Not as great as many of it's predecessors but still good. The US versions of some of the characters were not so great compared to the Japanese versions though (Effie being one of the main ones)

To me, Nina's supports with Kana are saying, "This is what I think is the right thing to do, but that doesn't mean it will always be seen as the right thing to do, even if it was beforehand (by the same people, I mean)." If she's admitting that statement, that's more so justifying parts of what she does rather than the whole thing. I dunno, maybe I've got a soft spot for pervs lol
Every single time I see any Fates child character my immediate response is to ask "Who?"
I guess Nina is more memorable than most though, to me. Not because she's even vaguely interesting as a character or relevant to any aspect of the Fates canon, but because she managed to save my first Conquest Lunatic run. Reclassing Felicia!Nina to a Strategist at endgame let me use 8 movement + Pass + Rescue staff combined with some Dancer + Shelter shenanigans to pull Corrin all the way to Takumi and one-round him.
I still swear by Felicia!Nina. Not only is it one of the few supports where Niles doesn't annoy me, you can also get Tomebreaker + Shining Bow on Nina quickly and early.

See, Nina's world view may be flawed and naive, but I don'neccisarily think this is bad writing. I personally like her a lot. Her design is pretty good, and I find her quite hilarious :P

If I can recommend one Fates child who is worth checking out, it has to be Shiro. He has a surprising amount of depth to his character without an overused Gimmick. His supports with M!Corrin and Caeldori are one of my personal favorites.
I can agree on this. Nina is at best shallow,but harmless. I will say though to me the best pairing with Niles(more from the chemistry not mechanically) is Charolete. Not only do think their supports were fun, this is the only child with Charlotte where the conversation doesn't get awkward with or just plain sad. Charlotte and Kana proves that Charlotte shouldn't have kids or a have kid that is just as "complicated" as her.
Nina is like my favorite conquest child. She's always been super strong
Mmm.. I think her worldview works pretty well in the world she lives in. In the world she lives in, most evil rich people seem to signpost it in big bold letters and then hide behind the law. Most of them tend to be complete monsters as well, with no redeeming qualities whatsoever. Figuring out who is and is not an evil noble in the world Nina lives in seems to be well within even her own poor judgment's capabilities, as evidenced by the mission she is recruited in.
The real world may be complicated, but in Nina's world, not so much.

I personally don't see Nina as wrong In her mindset. I think her mindset is extremely sound. What I disagree on with her are her actions. Having a certain belief is fine but actions have drastically heavier weight than thoughts and ideals. Maybe Eponine realizes with time that although she may not have been wrong in her thinking, her actions may have had redundant effects on what she was aiming for. Also, I think it's a very hubris thing to suggest that only young people have an anarchistic view of the world. While that may be mainly true, there are layers to this style of belief. It would be better for you to not believe your own ideals to be factual in comparison to something you don't agree with, Mangs. All ideals are not for the betterment or worsening of society. There's more to the world than just humanity.

I don’t know if Nina’s really a fan service character. Yaoi fan service would be hinting at actual gay relationships between two male characters. She’s more of a joke character, like most characters in fates/awakening, and it’s a joke I find decently funny. I think she’s ok. Not the best but far from the worse.

I seriously don't like these Fanservice/gimmick characters that were implemented so hard in Awakening/Fates, because they are just so fixed on these few points or to be interesting to a specific audience like Nina for example and even though both games had their highlights with characters who were actually interesting besides their gimmicks.
Hopefully we can see some more multidimensional and more interesting characters in the future.
Some of the Fates children do feel like extensions or even parodies of their fathers' main characteristics like Nina, Soleil, Ophelia or Sophie. It's pretty silly.

I don't think Nina's worldview is dumb, I agree that she uses her philosophy to justify her actions, but, the world is not only imperfect, but it can be also rather cruel, indifferent and ruthless regardless of whether you abide by the law or not. So Nina's anarchistic tendencies reflect how things ain't black and white, all actions have consequences that can make you a villain, or a hero depending on context. And thus, I feel her personality fits well with the overall themes in fates, those being good and evil are pretty subjective, don't let your prejudice cloud your judgment, be open to accepting different perspectives, etc.

Nina's design is really the only thing I like about her
In my opinion, her views on the world are pretty much just that of your typical radical teen who thinks the world should be the way they think it should be and things should work out the way they want them to, only difference between her and the typical radical teen however is that Nina actually goes out and tries to change things, course considering she went out to steal from the rich, even if it was just to give the stolen wealth to the poor, one would have to wonder if that's actually a good thing in the end

I agree with pretty much all you said but especially the design: I love it, it's the main reason I've come to like her. Nevertheless, all Fates' children are pretty much boring with the exception of a few (Awakening had a much more interesting/decent children storyline at least). Looking forward to the next Spotlight!

I saw Nina as being more naive than stupid. This mostly comes from a combo of her support with Kanna and her endings. From the rest of the support she shows "proof" of the good her work does. It's also worth noting both endings show her maturing in the ideals she has, either by doing charity work or being a vigilante and fighting crime (ironic?).
Now with all that being said, I think the supports show she just needed time to learn and grow up to have that positive effect she wants.
BTW the quotes around "proof" was because we never hear about anything that goes wrong with the Robin Hood gig. For all we know she could've messed up something but we're never given details.
Great spotlight on a character I originally didn't like very much. I still don't like her but her design is good. I'd love to see a Lissa or Stahl spotlight next. And enjoy your vacation, you deserve a break

What also pisses me off about Nina is that she calls the world "flawed" and "wrong" when she wasn't even around in the world she's "saving" to see all the horrible things going on in it.
Not to mention she grew up with food in her belly, a roof over her head, and books for her to read. Niles, the guy who got handed probably one of the worst hands you can be delt, tried to protect her and tried to give her what he didn't have.
I get that Niles and (whomever you choose to be the mother) didn't visit her a lot but a few weeks outside of the Deep realm is a few years inside of it (according to Wikipedia). And since there's a war going on outside, Niles could've been deployed and fighting for a lot of those years.
Nina just strikes me as an ungrateful kid. And while it seems like she realized (once she came out of the Deeprealm) that others had it worse than her, she decides to, like you said in the video, take her Daddy issues out on other people.
I do remember we discussed Nina's philosophy at length in Ft. Mangs, though the post was deleted. I can't remember much of what we said, but it was rather interesting.

While I wouldn't say you are wrong to call Nina's worldview stupid, however I feel the need to point out that a lot Nobles in Norh ARE corrupt in some way, not all obviously, but we hear about them a lot. So she's got a lot more going for her then she would in our world.

While watching this I looked of the pastbin that has links to all the Japanese support translations and ya know what? I'm slightly relieved the last two lines of the A support aren't written to be like that, but the line from the English B support where Niles says "It's too late, Nina. The gross part of me is in you too." definitely makes up for it and his hilarious to read instead of slightly unsettling.

When it comes to Nina’s view of the world, I do think there are plenty of flaws in the world, but the answer isn’t anarchy and destruction. It’s much easier to fix something that you’ve broke, than it is to completely make a new one.
Theres no one true answer like one would agree with her one wouldnt....if theres any answer in the world its going to be your answer for yourself

My experience with Nina:
*Nyx!Nina:* WET PAPER BAG. Cannot take a hit, and also has issues hitting and inflicting meaningful damage because both Niles and Nyx have a low skill and strength stat. Doubles everything. Mage killer, likes Spellbane Yumi. Makes great use of Shining Bow, but makes her live on the edge due to that -20 Avoid.
*Setsuna!Nina:* Sonic the Hedgehog. Extremely fast sniper (+50 speed with all statues) with great resistance and okay strength and skill, but Takumi is still better. Lucky 7 also helps her evasion as well as a forged Bamboo Yumi.
In my opinion there's nothing wrong with a "live now, pay later" attitude, as long as you're prepared to face future consequences - The thing with Nina is that she is in fact still a young teen and overseeing consequences might be difficult, with the vigilante mindset not helping either as it provides her justification material to keep her eyes closed to the truth.
