My late aunt worked nights at St. John's at the time. She & coworkers would hear chanting coming from the woods behind Untermeyers.

HE WAS ON MY MOM'S ROUTE IN THE BRONX 170 ST HE WAS A MAILMAN MY MOM WORKED AS A CASHIER FOR FOOD CITY BACK THEN. HE WOULD ONLY GO ON HER LINE SHE SAID, HE SEEM OK ALWAYS HAD A SMILE HE ONLY BOUGHT YOGURT. WHO WOULD BELIEVE THAT HE WAS A KILLER... TRUE STORY.

What's identified as the carriage house was actually the gate house. Carriage house was at the Broadway entrance and burned down in the '70s. There's a community center building on the site.
I had the very same observation.
According to the new evidence, he wasn’t the only one who was killing the couples, there were multiple people involved, he was doing the killing for snuff films that were apparently for the cult members and for buyers on the black market.
I also knew people who hung out with "The Son Of Sam". They said he was a cool guy and was a really good 🎱 player. And yes, there are "The Sons Of Sam". Read "The Ultimate Evil" by Maury Terry.

I knew the Carr's. I lived 4 houses away from them. My dad said sam was an asshole and my friend's mom worked for him. My sister in law did his workman's comp .

Thanks for the interesting history regarding Samuel Untermeyer as well. I travelled the Bronx all the way from Australia back in 2016- I wish I had known a bit more about historical sites back then because I would have certainly visited Untermeyer Gardens and some other areas near the Hudson.

Great Video! I used to explore the gardens and the aqueduct trail all the time back in the early 00’s. I love that they have restored the garden and this house we used to call lions gate.
I was in "The Devil's Cave" before they bulldozed it down.🤘

@@JohnJames_23 I do believe it was 1986 or 87 when the Devil's Cave was demolished. That was a long time ago. It was an interesting experience to have actually stood in that room.

Fantastic storytelling about Summer of Sam and Untermeyer Park. As a teenager from Mt Vernon with friends all over lower Westchester, I remember the chill that this put on the dating scene thanks to the killer David Berkowitz..

I had the very same thought.
In Samuel Untermyer's day, the gardens were magnificent. He had 26 greenhouses and about the same number of gardeners to produce seasonal plantings. He would open his gardens up for the public to admire. He won numerous ribbons at garden shows. After his death, the City of Yonkers could not afford the upkeep, so the plants died off or got overrun with weeds.

My dog. Snoopy was not mean he lived catty corner from me on glenwood ave. My dog would pullaway from me. The dog had a heart which was to big for his bodyand would have a siezure. I worked in the post office and would take snoopy for a walk on the Aquaduct

I met the midget juggler/jester who would juggle the flaming torches at nighttime referred to in the narrative.... There is an evil demon iin that clown and my dog alerted me to it. He was from the nearby town of Hastings, and he said he was Topcat, a cartoon character at the time but I thought he was more of an alley rat! Didn't John Lennon and Yoko get married there?

'Twas the Devil's Cave. An inverted pentagram and 2 upside down crosses on either side, and it was approximately half way down the thousand steps on the left near the Eagle's Nest. I was in there back in the '80's before it was demolished. Really interesting!🍀

Son of same live catty corner from 84 glenwood . llilian Delroy lived i his building had her dance studio there alway had the smell of gas in her alartment. Ikick myself now for not buying the house next door.
