Leno Rd. Woods Fire 4 23 24

Harrison County Fire Rescue was dispatched to 911 calls for a large woods fire (greater than sixty acers) Tuesday afternoon 4-23-24. The fires were threatening homes, barns, and other buildings as well as large, wooded areas. The Harrison County Fire Rescue along with the Harrison County Sheriff's Department patrol, and aviation unit were on the scene flying the helicopter, UAV (drone) pilots from HCFR, flew to locate the fire and keep crews informed of the fire movement. The Mississippi Forestry Commission assisted in this fire and the US Forest Service, sent fire crews to put boots on the on the ground and dozers to cut fire breaks to contain the fire. No structures were damaged, and no injuries were reported.
