Competitive Pokemon Singles saw the release of Miltank in Gen 2. Miltank had a solid start to it's competitive Career in OU with its great utility, serviceable bulk and ability to 1v1 Snorlax with Growl.
While Miltank dropped to the UUBL tier in Gen 3, those powerful qualities remained somewhat relevant. Miltank can occasionally be an alternative to the more popular Blissey and Snorlax, as a midground between both.
Miltank offers Offensive pressure with Body Slam and Curse, as well as immediate healing and utility from Heal Bell.
Let's explore this concept, perhaps.

How is that any different from the inherent plot hole of an all-male species? Breeding Miltank and Tauros just gets you a Miltank egg, so Tauros have always been making more Tauros without Miltank. How they do it is a plot hole, but not one exclusive to Paldea

I always enjoy seeing fast defensive Pokémon like Miltank, they can afford to be a bit less sturdy thanks to using their move first and I feel they usually lead to cool interactions.

@@lipika2841 Speed is still valuable for a defensive mon, especially to get that recovery first or status. Sableye was still viable despite putrid stats thanks to prankster recovery.

As a mixed wall with the utility of heal bell, reliable healing from milk drink
A hard-hitting Body Slam that can spread paralysis
And even the ability to 1v1 Snorlax using Growl.
In defense of Miltank, even though it was ZU in gen8, it saw ocasional usage un PU, being a decent alternative to Audino with more physical bulk

I like miltank its like a mini snorlax for GSC you get it around the same time you would get snorlax in rby and it learns all the same moves

Swampert can learn High Horsepower via tm, so that means that he is the strongest Horse in Gen 3 OU. Im waiting for the respond of the Horse council.
Man, Mandjtv absolutely hate this but can admit it is one of the only good og Johtonian pokemon
i just wanna talk during gen 4 wifi battle era (yes im old) i distinctly remember people experimenting a lot with miltank as almost like a physical wall blissey that was less passive. it never really took off but it's certainly not the worst thing in the entire world. with access to heal bell, milk drink, curse as a win condition good normal stab, has rock coverage and of course access to stealth rock. it also has thick fat as an ability. I honestly think it's not totally unviable in OU. however this isn't to say it's remotely good, it's main issue is it's strictly out classed and being a normal type physical wall isn't the best with close combats running around everywhere combined with how good clef, snorlax, and blissey already are it feels really bad to double up on normals.
I loved using it in Gen6 as a Milk drink/Heal bell wall. Although his spdef is certainly a lot lower than I remembered

@@jimothycool I reject any system that does not allow Falinks to be the horse it was meant to be. This ruling was merely a ploy by Horsea to gain power and question Magcargo’s legitimate claim to Horsedom. I imagine it will be overturned in time.

If a normal type needs Magneton + Pursuit Ttar support to sweep then you may wanna use something like banded Slaking, Tauros or even Zangoose.
However, they don’t have healing, which it does have.
@@strangevol5264 Don't need healing when they can just kill whatever in front of them with proper support. I mean you bring support for offensive pokemon, not defensive ones. If a defensive pokemon needs support to function then its a bad pokemon, as its primary job is to provide support.
@@pokememe2588 It's got role compression I think would be the counter-argument to that. It has heal bell to support your sweepers, longevity with milk drink, and can spread paralysis as well. If your team's sweepers are slower and need para to outspeed things, then it seems like a niche choice that fills the role better than similar pokemon.
You're not filling in Miltank with another sweeper because that's not what the team needs in this case. They want a support mon that is less passive than Blissey and can heal itself in a way that isn't Rest like in the case of Snorlax.
It's not really that it NEEDS Pursuit Gengar and Mag for Skarm, it's more that the sweepers you're SUPPORTING need it, or are benefitted by it. The team it's on needs to be formulated in a way where you can either sweep with an offensive mon or put the opponent in a position where Miltank is an unbreakable wall that can set up on them.
