- Cinque Terre, meaning "Five Lands" consists of five coastal towns along the northwestern coast of Italy. Riomaggiore is the southern most town and is considered to be the starting point for hikers walking along the Via dell'Amore, a trail that joins all five villages. This walk was filmed on August 4th, 2020. Be sure to put on headphones to get the most of the experience.

I accidentally ended up here on a university trip to Europe in 2019 (took the wrong train from Monterosso and got lost). It was my favorite day of my three weeks in Europe, and this helped me relive it. So thank you.

I've never felt so good and alive as I did in Italy.
Thank you for these absolutely therapeutic and wonderful travel adventures. You climb all the exhausting stairways, wade through the tourist hordes, suffer airports and airplanes to take us on vacation. Excellent premise for a channel. Not to mention saving viewers tens of thousands in travel expenses. No interaction in person, but beautiful excursions.👍🌟👏🎉

I like the way you hold the camera on a view for a while so we can really soak in the view. Also, it’s amazing how smooth the view is, even when you’re walking over boulders. 😊

What a surprise this morning, cinque terre walk was my most sought after walk, its on my list next time we visit Italy, I was feeling depressed due to the 2nd lockdown in Toronto, this has cheered me up, Isaac thank you and keep cheering us up with your beautiful walks!

Such a beautiful footage...
Both the Cinque Terre and Amalfi coast have spectacular, seaside views. ... The Amalfi coast is also better-positioned, and better-connected, for day trips to other major sights. Depending on where exactly you're staying, you can easily day-trip to Capri, Pompeii, Herculaneum, Paestum, and Naples, among other options.

Yeah, it's amazing how many people act like they've never seen someone with a camera before.
Goes to show human conditioning. Nobody bats an eyelid when someone is on the street taking a million selfies, but shock horror when someone is walking around filming a street.
@@cristobal5096 It's probably because it's a real camera on a gimbal held high for a better view, especially in crowds. You can catch its shadow from time to time. And i can't say I've ever seen someone walking around with a highend setup in person but I'd probably stare too.

Amazing video. My father's family are from this town. I visited a couple of times over the years. Video refreshed my memories a lot. Very thorough and in depth. Only thing you missed was the pirate watchtower overlooking the Mediterranean Sea at the highest point of the town, but overall excellent video. Thank You!!! Job well done!
Great video. Did the Cinque Terre hike in 2012. At the end ate at a great restaurant... first time I ever had octopus.

We stayed in Sarzana to visit the Cinque Terre and it was a pleasant surprise. Beautiful old town full of concerts, vintage markets and great restaurants. It is the real authentic Ligurian town and still little touristy. We recommend it to everyone!

I wish I would have walked a little further on up to the castle but I didn't realize the path was right there near the church.
I didn’t go that far when I visited, will try to spend at least five days in Corniglia next time so I can take it easier in each town.

I have been recommending your videos to all of my friends!! This is the most amazing escape from the dreariness we have been experiencing for the past 9 months. However, can I just express my preferences, please? I much prefer those videos that are taken from the electric bikes. The walking videos do not get my blood pumping nearly as much. I compare the biking videos to the sensation I get from roller coasters. So much excitement! Please do more of the biking videos! Also, I would love to see more of less-traveled France, such as Brittany.

Thank you for making this video. I visited Riomaggiore in 2007, and it remains one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. I remember sunbathing on those boulders out in the middle of the sea. Such a magical place.

Thanks you so much for this videos. Italy is so beautiful. The climate is superb, and people seem so relaxed and calm going about their business. The mountain hiking, the Greek ruins, and Pompeii, wow! I really enjoy all of them.
I absolutely love your walks. Especially Italy. I don't know if I could ever make these because I'm not very good with stairs due to my knees and the fact that I'm a pretty big girl. However, I love watching these and it makes me excited to add Italy to a must visit list. It's also an encouragement to drop a few pounds so I can fit upstairs only wide enough for a cat. :-)

Wonderful footage! As so many others have mentioned, your channel has really buoyed my spirits during the pandemic. Any chance you’ll visit other Cinque Terra villages?
My kids noticed this first, so few people are wearing masks! Phenomenal! I hope you (and your family) stay safe and healthy.
Wearing masks wasn’t obligatory in Italy during the summer. It was only when entering indoor activities or walking through crowded places. It also mainly depended on the region. Liguria was less strict. In that period, the number of covid affected was very low and there was a common sense of relief. I have also to say that the majority of tourists didn’t use masks (e.g. Germans).
Yes, I filmed a walk of each town. Manarola will be next. Glad you're enjoying all the walks.

@@CapybaraCM This summer in Europe was erroneously meant as covid-free. Indeed, the daily cases in Italy reached very low numbers (200/300). Unfortunately, the cases increased starting from late October (the “second wave”). Liguria has been entering a second partial lockdown since then and we can’t move from one region to another one. Hopefully, we will start travelling more the next year. I’m very confident about it. Greetings from Italy!

At the end of the walk, at the sign pointing to train station, you should continue, now you are missing the most scenic part of that path.

Amazing video! If you should chose between Riomaggiore, Vernazza and Manarola, which one do you think it s the prettiest one and the one with characteristic and nice restaurants? Thanks
I think Manarola has the best views. They all look great from the water or from a drone, but when you are actually there in the town, things look a bit different. You can get a great view of Manarola from a restaurant. I thought Vernazza was the best place to hang out though. You can swim, walk around, choose between several restaurants right on the water. I would skip Cornigilia if you are going by train. There are too many steps to get up to the town...and the town doesn't have too much to offer. You can chill out all day in Vernazza if you wanted to.
