But I can't seem to find the post from Feb.15, part two). Do you have it on TH-cam yet? Do you do the binding the same way as you did on this tutorial?

  • @Bunefoo401
    @Bunefoo401 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wonderful tutorial. I loved nearly everything you showed. My only concern would be the thread ... Even if its the strongest, all it would take is for one section of thread to snap and the whole book would fall apart. I suppose to minimize catastrophe, you could sew each signature separately, even tho it might be more time consuming. Beautifully done. (And who cares about your nails, I was looking at the tutorial nor your manicure). Still looking for the video for how you decorated it :(. Thanks for the info!!

    • @cocoaandfluff
      @cocoaandfluff  10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Collette, the thread can be tricky but so far I haven't had any catastrophes (fingers crossed) I am like a mother hen with my books =) I have made books for friends and family recently by sewing the binding just like old books are done and I really like how they are turning out. If you are interested in learning how message me and I can send you links to some really good tutorials.

      Also, instead of just using a normal polycotton thread you can use a boot makers polycotton thread (almost impossible to break)...just a thought

    If you do this with the books a lot you should check out Raffaele De Dominicis's Four videos on hand sewing books. I warn you though it is all in Italian but you get the gist of it while watching the videos. I have tried it myself with some success although not as elaborate a setup as he has. If you do it I guarantee that your books wont fall apart, and it seems it might be easier then your current method.

    The volume is very low. I have the volume on my iPad up all the way, then I switched to my laptop volume up all the way and I could barely hear you voice. It makes it hard to want to come back for other videos. I enjoy the topics.

    If you are going to give tutorials on altering books and deconstructing books... I would suggest learning about book binding so you can use accurate terms for the anatomy of books, which would benefit your attempt at educating viewers.
