- Pipeline POV, Surf Coaster, SeaWorld Orlando, Front Row 4K Ultra HD. It's finally here, the new style stand-up roller coaster from Bolliger and Mabillard. Pipeline, the Surf Coaster is a new style coaster with 4 inches of movement, once your restraint locks in the station, you get 2 inches of vertical movement up, and 2 inches down.

Standing barefoot on a rollercoaster is wild 😂
I think it's dangerous. I can't believe the parks allow it. If you have to be evacuated, you're going to walk barefoot down a burning hot steel catwalk, or risk getting splinters in your feet if it's on a woodie? All it takes is one slip and you're SPLAT, and then the park is liable.

I love how the layout really feels like you're smoothly surfing waves. Original coaster designs like these are cool because they deviate from a lot of common layouts for coasters. And I don't just mean copies a lot of coaster layouts stay within a certain layout of inversions that happen almost identically😂😂 It's like if it works it works! 🤣

There is nothing original about the coaster. Typical and unimaginative . These parks need to start thinking outside the box

Slip hazard since they are semi-standing. Too much of a liability since they want people to be able to sure footed when their feet need to be down.

I always thought it would be neat if they made a roller coaster that started at one end of the park and finished at the other end, depending on where you got on at. If it was long enough, they could have two separate cars going simultaneously.

I can only imagine what the first blast feels like as you are standing up. And then going upsidedown? This would be nuts to go on!

The loop happens so fast you don’t feel it tbh . Everything happens so fast
I love this design, in my opinion what would make it better is if the seats were sideways and back to back, to give it that more realistic surfing feeling! But I am definitely going to ride this when I go to wear world!! ❤️
I was just thinking the same thing! Oh and it would have been cool if when it takes photos (I think it does) and had some kind of background cgi of water and a beach in the distant. or if the photo thing is at a more extreme are of the ride then a cgi of that Barrel wave (That tunnel of water). Those images combined with being sideways.

Row 11 is the best! The coaster is so much fun! B&M redeemed the stand-up coaster with this one! I’m sure with this success, they will definitely build another one somewhere else! It’s so good

Would love to start seeing these parks integrate better theming. You've got Veloci-coaster just down the road. These days, the ride is only half the battle!
this coaster was so fun guys! i went on it today and let me tell you, the air time is AMAZING!! the launch is pretty fast and has a lot of force but if you like aerosmiths (its at disney) launch, you will for sure love this coaster.
One of the best coasters I’ve been on. The seats move with you so you get plenty of air time.
That ride was terrible, short and dont tell me ur knees didnt hurt afterwards..

Thanks for the video of this new exciting coaster. It really fits in with the Seaworld park that has an ocean theme for the park. I hope it stays popular and people can ride it for years to come.
Quick fact: B&M 's first roller coaster was the stand up Iron Wolf at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois. It was built in 1990. Here we are 33 years later.

I've been on the Iron Wolf maybe 20+ times in my lifetime, hands-down, the most painful roller coaster I have ever been on! HA! Your head would bang on the sides the whole time, your eats would hurt so bad! Your butt checks where so sore. You always got off and no one was smiling or happy they road it. Then you would have vertigo within a few hours. LOL- it was also so dang loud!! It was time they took it down.
You gotta admit b&m is a very good manufacturer and has made elite coasters
@@zodiakw8963 Reliability is their main strength. They make solid coasters for a high price tag but good return on investment.
Im really glad more stand up rollercoasters are being made. I went on shockwave at drayton manor and loved it, hoping to go on this roller coaster soon lol
This is an updated take that is supposed to address some of the problems faced by the original generation stand up coasters. The two biggest changes are allowing the restraints to move slightly instead of locking completely in place, and making the layout focus more on airtime to emphasize the restraints' new range of motion instead of positive Gs and inversions (which can be quite uncomfortable).

The only other stand up one I can think of was Green Lantern at Great Adventure (not a bad one, in fact it’s quite fun though the lower harnesses can be a bit questionable LOL)
@RB01.10 Mantis at cedar point was a stand-up coaster. It didn't do well, it was a rough ride and people didn't like it. They closed it down, replaced the stand-up trains with floorless seated ones, and reopened it as Rougarou.
I like how you embraced that surfer motto riding it barefoot without shoes. Way to experience that whole surf vibe completely. Kudos

He had flip flops on, they made him take them off due the risk of the flip flops coming off during the ride.

if yall r confused about the barefoot part, rollercoasters where your feet r dangling will have you take your shoes off it you arent wearing normal tennis shoes because your shoes r gonna fly off, the people barefoot probably had sandals or some sort of slip on sandal type shoe so for their safety they have you take em off, its not weird and makes sense, you could loose your shoes or someone could get hit in the head by a flying shoe so yea
Wow haven't seen a B&M launch AND a stand-up coaster in a while, looks great! Looks like Intamin's pacing and layout but with B&M's smoothness.
I think this is the first 60fps POV of this ride. Nice POV, and maybe I can ride this when I go down to Florida this summer.
I like that it has two cars. One can be loading/unloading and the other going, so less wait time. I've only been to two parks near me the last 20 yrs, so I don't know if other rides have this set up, but I would try it for that reason alone, lol
Most rides work like this. Some even have 3 trains working at the same time.
I knew the folks in the roller coaster industry would see the potential behind something like this. I seriously need to go to SeaWorld, and check out the sea life, maybe ride a few coasters of my own, too!

Awesome flying and rolling raid to stimulate the sensation of surfing. Very cool, but the concept of you just standing on a board like you at least stand up that is crazy.

I don't think it matters if you stand or sit (or hang) in rides, if the safety bar fails for some reason you will fall from the ride any way. One can only hope the safety and maintenance of rides are checked and done as supposed to. Especially checking if the bars are locked for each person and have no damages before each ride takes off

Rode it earlier today, can't really compare it to anything. A completely new and interesting experience, can't wait to see what B&M does with this train design because it was a clear success from everyone I spoke to today.

I haven’t been to SeaWorld in Orlando since I was too young to remember more than a few bits and pieces. This makes me really want to go back, but it also looks terrifying. 😂 I do have to admit I’m disappointed there was no water involved.

Leave it to B&M to finally make a standing coaster that doesn't suck! I rode my share of standing coasters back in the day, and on every last one I was like "Why?! This is like a regular coaster, except it's slower, rougher, and the restraint thing is smashing my privates."

Now that is one Damn Scary ride if I ever saw one. Standing up like a surfer and nothing holding your feet in place while doing loop to loops, etc.
Not exactly for the faint of heart person. I know I would not try this ride. Maybe if I was 20 years old again. i hope the upper body is held in place pretty good.

For extra realism would be dope if the seats could pivot a bit to the right or left (goofy/regs) depending on board stance

It's fly out of your seat with your seat airtime. It's so hard to compare to anything, but it'll blow you away especially on the first ride. It's really, really different and cool.

@@Verminity It’s so cool, because the seats work in tandem with the ride! The airtime is crazy and unlike anything else out there! I’m pretty short, and I go absolutely FLYING on this thing, it’s fantastic!
do the seats adjust to height ? or are some seats higher then others for tall and some lower for shorter people like me .

Actually this isn't new. One of (if not the first) was the King Cobra at Kings Island over 30 yrs ago. They're maintenance hogs because of the forces applied by the individuals standing.

Certain six flags already have similar stand up rides
you have to be careful with these types of rollercoasters, typically nausea with stand ups can be more frequent then sitting ones

everything was comfortable except for the vests but i think that is a problem with being too tall

Front seat is a must for this ride as it’s short and having nothing in front of you is cool standing up. The back row gets more airtime though. I have been on every row and it’s a great ride just wish it was longer for the usual long editing times.
I rode the front for the very first time I rode it and it was an experience. The very back row is good too.

I remember The Mantis at Cedar Point which was a stand up coaster . I seem to remember enjoying it but many guys did not . Apparently having that bike seat between their legs was not fun with the bumps and what not . Now Mantis has been converted to a sit down coaster called Rugaru. Wonder if this ride has made it more boy friendly to stand while you ride or if it too will eventually be converted 🤔
I don't remember the Mantis as being a :stand-up" coaster....always considered it to a suspended coaster
