I've really liked this documentary. Lots of time documentaries will attempt to dissect Judaism by showing two extremes, atheist/seculars and chassidim; but, I like the variety in this one. It shows a MO family, it shows traditional, possibly conservative man (who is really into fashion) and it shows a holocaust survivor who has lost his faith. Not only that, but it attempts to cover all areas of Jewish life throughout the year. It doesn't just blab on about the holocaust forever. I like it.
First - using a Modern Hebrew translator to translate Biblical Hebrew is ridiculous. Second - even when using a Modern Hebrew translator, it still doesn't translate it as 'Muhammad'.
Interesting. I am currently converting to Judaism, after first having been to Islam. In Judaism the Rabbonim postpone it, or, 'put you off', to see if you're sincere. If you're not sincere, you won't stick with it. Muhammad isn't mentioned in 5:16. In 5:16 it says מחמדים. Muhammad is written as מוחמד. If G-d wanted to tell us about the coming of Muhammad He a) would have spelt the name right, and b) there'd be something more than an incorrectly spelt name.
The vowels are wrong. Hebrew is written in consonants - the little dots are vowels. You're missing the 'u' vowel, and your pathetic attempt at spelling it (just taking the word from scripture and removing the plural part) has ended up with the word ending in a vowel, which cannot happen.
Rubbish. You wouldn't accept non-Muslims telling you what the Qur'an says, so as a non-Jew, don't tell us Jews what our scripture says. And no, 'im' isn't used for respect. 'Im' is the masculine plural.
Jack is such an incredible human being. I cried buckets for him when he read at his bar mitzvah. Amazing.
Bernettte is such a happy character just love her :-)
jack is so special, what an incredible person.
I don't think it is possible to watch Jack's Bar Mitzvah without crying. Very moving.
Jack - wow - courage - strength - resilence L I F E, I love his defiance !!!!
i could hardly watch jack at his bar mitzvah without crying...i hoped he would do that with his grand son. that was awesome....
What a beautiful moment for Jack when he had his Bar Mitzvah. Made me feel rather emotional. Thanks so much for posting :-D
Great joy in parts tinged with an awful sadness of the loss of 6 million innocents, gone but never, ever forgotten.
