Amazing! I just got this exact greenhouse this year. We are still working on it but I had done extra bean seeds when I planted so I put them in pots into the greenhouse and half grew perfectly! They were old seeds so I wanted them to fill in empty spaces in my bed. However I didn’t know about the uv plastic issues. I just assumed they would be automatically hardened off like growing outside. I had no issues and I was happy to get a few extra plants. They actually grew better than those in the ground! I’m curious about the electrical outlet you installed. We need to put in a fan.
So I didnt add an outlet but run an extension cord in. UV rays does depend on the plastic. Thanks for your support and please visit.. considering one of these. do you think it could keep potted citrus alive over the winter (zone 8b) just sitting on the ground like that, maybe with water jugs?
I don't have experience with them but your zone is pretty close to being able to do that in theory. Maybe a heater just for the occasional citrus cold nights if needed. But you should be able to collect heat with lots of water jugs. Thanks! Over 1500 gardening videos on my YT channel. Here is how you can support me, & The Rusted Garden... I am in central PA--really learn from your videos, thanks. I have already dug out my foundation of my new greenhouse with a SSE aspect to catch morning sun, the full southern sun, the fading off in the hottest afternoon sun. Is this greenhouse not positioned that way? I could move my foundation (but would hate to as I rented a backhoe and it wil bee a 10' x 14' gh once I build it.
@@THERUSTEDGARDEN Thanks a lot, I was questioning myself as I respect you. My wife said I can have the backyard if she can have the front. It's working for us 🙂 Altho I can't convince he to let me have chickens. Haaahahaha.
Excellent vidoes thank you. I have never grown anything but want to start with easy plants. Ive bought a pop green house yesterday. I dont want to grow anything in my garden. Is it possible to grow all the fruit and veg in a green house alone ? Im in the uk 🇬🇧 so not sure if ive left it too late to start growing...
Growing to maturity? Possible but you need to have the right container size or grow in the ground, in the GH. You also need to make sure pollinators can get in for things like cucumbers and squash. It is possible to grow many things in a greenhouse. Thanks! Over 1500 gardening videos on my YT channel. Here is how you can support me, & The Rusted Garden... Always fantastic advice. Thank you @therustedgarden for all your years of wisdom and helping gardeners and could be gardeners. Spring is coming!!!
Hubs knew he was fighting a losing battle last year when I fenced a small area in my front yard for a garden. Then put in a little greenhouse in the fall. Then , just a few days ago, had a dump truck load of compost dumped by the greenhouse. Look out lawn, you are about to become a thing of the past!! He should be grateful that I didn't fence part of it for the cows or move the chicken coop out there.

considering one of these. do you think it could keep potted citrus alive over the winter (zone 8b) just sitting on the ground like that, maybe with water jugs?
I don't have experience with them but your zone is pretty close to being able to do that in theory. Maybe a heater just for the occasional citrus cold nights if needed. But you should be able to collect heat with lots of water jugs.

I place mine for aesthetics to the house not the sun. Your set up is effective. I would stick with that. Good luck.
@@THERUSTEDGARDEN Thanks a lot, I was questioning myself as I respect you. My wife said I can have the backyard if she can have the front. It's working for us 🙂 Altho I can't convince he to let me have chickens. Haaahahaha.
Good deal to have the backyard for sure.

A good shelving system would be wire shelving with standards and brackets. Easily adjusted and last for ever. Lowe's /Home Depot. Or I check at habitat restore. Or any resale shops usually have used shelving and attachments.
Great idea.

The device you have bolted to the greenhouse, is that an ink bird?
It is. Was using it for the heater but decided it really wasn't needed. If I want earlier bigger leaf growth, I'll need a heater or if I put in other crops.

What company or website did you obtain your greenhouse from?
It’s from Costco.
Has to be purchased in a Costco. They come and go quickly.
