I always like when you clean and talk. Great upload.

It was originally supposed to be a live stream, but I apparently didn't connect it right. So I had to fill the air with my own chatter as their was no one to respond to in the chat! It was also something of an experiment, to see if I could stream while cleaning a comic, now that I know that I can, there will be additional video's of this type.

Thank you for sharing your thought process as you clean. I have noticed that brown, gray, purple and certain green inks will clean off easier. I believe it is because those colors are made up of heavier layers of ink on ink when using a four color CMYK press. More of the ink never touches the paper - only the next lower layer of ink.

The biggest problem with that comic is that it was printed in the seventies by Charlton, you see Charlton bought their own presses in the 40's and never updated them, They also used the cheapest paper and rarely if ever actually submitted copyrights on any of their comics, I can only assume that they also used the cheapest inks they could find. So add all of those up and you get comics that are difficult to clean without ink loss and nearly impossible to conserve with any chance of real success.

@@KollectingKaos I believe you. I have also cleaned The Incredible Hulk 253 and turned the elephant man from medium gray to light gray. And I did not know I did it until I compared it to a duplicate in my collection. I just thought all that gray on the cotton round was dirt.

Most, not all, but most of the time dirt is tilted toward tan. When I start seeing dark shades I become very careful. : )
