Got another one about Stonehenge, some of the stones were re erected in the 19th century, using old illustrations as a guide. Until the protection of monuments movement, in the 19th century in the UK, many ancient sites got vandalised. Some stones at Stonehenge still have marks from vandalism on them.

    • @DneilB007
      @DneilB007 24 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

My favourite Stonehenge hypothesis is that it was basically a hospital.
The igneous bluestones-the ones that famously came from the Presilli mountains-have acoustic properties. A village in Presilli used local bluestones as church bells until the 1800s. In many ancient cultures, lithophonic rocks (rocks that ring when you hit them) were considered magical and had healing powers. The idea was that you put an ill/wounded individual inside the ring of bluestones and then the attendants would make the stones “sing” by striking them. All of that healing magic would go inward to the suffering individual and, hopefully, help them heal. So kinda like Lourdes. Then later on, the larger Sarcen stones (the ones with the lintels) were built around the bluestones, with the idea of reflecting the magic of the bluestones back into the circle, rather than dispersing into the surrounding countryside.
I have no idea if it’s true or not, but it’s an interesting hypothesis that does align with a lot of the data, like using the bluestones rather than local ones, that some of the burials in the area around Stonehenge were people who had lived far away (the Amesbury Archer came from the Alpine region of Germany, the Boscome Bowmen were probably from Brittany, and another person (without any alliterative nickname, just “the Boy with the Amber Necklace”) was from the Mediterranean region.

The whole 666 vs 616 has to do with the language of translation.
How it works: many languages during ancient times used gematria, where letters have a numerical value, because they did not have symbols for numbers. Think Roman numerals-DCLXVI would equal 666. Ancient Greek and Hebrew languages also used gematria. In Greek, they often drew a line overtop the letters so you would know that they were numerals and not letters.
When the Greek form of Nero’s name is translated from Greek into Hebrew, “Nero Caesar” is written in Hebrew, the gematria totals out to 666 (NRON QSR), because the Greek form of Nero is actually written as “Neron” because of Koine Greek rules about how masculine names should be spelled in the objective case [grossly simplified version]. When the Latin form is translated into Hebrew, there is no second nun letter in Nero (so NRO QSR), so without the second nun, valued at 50, the total comes to 616.
There’s a theory that the author of Revelations, like other dissidents during the reign of Domitian, used criticism of the emperor Nero as a coded attack against Domitian.
So, interestingly enough, if the original text of Revelations had the number of the Beast as 616 rather than 666, that might indicate that the writer wrote the text in Latin rather than in Greek or Aramaic, which introduces all kinds of interesting questions about the author’s background, their origin, their level of education, their legal status (Roman citizenship vs subjugated nation, etc.).
    Pointless digression over. ✌️

Urgh, no thanks, I'm 36 and already fed up with it. Youngest child being the favourite isn't necessarily the best indicator. As an older person my life's experiences have taught me that a lot of mothers prefer a son over other children. Both of my sisters and myself would tell you that I was my mums favourite child. And I'm the middle one of 3. A younger & older sister.
Same with dads. They often have a daughter as their favourite. (I have 1 son and 2 daughters myself also. And am admitting NOTHING!)

If you grow fruit trees, you are likely to get fungi clusters growing underground. Apple trees especially attract fungi, to the ground around them, due to rotting windfall fruit.

20: Given the level of mayhem that occurs in the comics, that is exactly the prime universe in Marvel comics is called 616.

the senses part shouldn't be 11 senses as the ones you listed are all perceptions. they should all be categorized into 1 and just labelled awareness.

If we as humans are granted 1 billion heart beats, then why is many of us going to the gym to raise the heart rate which will reduce their lifespan?
For all these years I thought that 666 was upside-down according to the movie End of Days.

What? 666 is a meaningless number. End of days was a weird movie. Neither is relevant to life. Why go to the gym and get your heart rate up? Because its good for your heart. That 1 billion beats is an approximation. Some get more some get less.

The 616 one is wrong. While the fragment is old, there is an older copy of Irenaeus discussing the fact that 666 was correct, and debunking the copying error in the one saying 616. So we knew the document existed and knew it was wrong before the fragment was ever found.
