I thought the ASCS when it first started was pretty awesome. I’ve seen some spectacular 360 races over the years. Gary Wright made a solid career with them.
360's at the ASCS level are expensive. The engines are putting out power that stretches them to the extreme. That means you have to rebuild them more frequently than a 410 motor. Not all 360 series' run ASCS spec motors, making them more cost efficient ... less rebuilds. Have a great day Justin.
Three weeks ago on the Sprint Car Unlimited podcast Ryan Timms said he was running full time Xtreme and USAC Midgets this season. 60 races and would race the Sprint Car on the other weekends.
We need regional sprint car series. ASCS is a key regional sprint car series in the Midwest. It'd be a shame to see it go! I believe every region needs multiple series for that level of competition for each other. -- The west coast has NARC for 360s. -- Here in the Mid-Atlantic region. We have the newly formed 305 Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series (MASS), and the 305 Pennsylvania Sprint Series (PASS), 360 United Racing Club (URC) -- southeast region has the Carolina Sprint Tour (CST)
- NARC is a 410 series - MASS is NJ and Eastern PA (Grandview/Big Diamond) - PASS is all over PA but their rules are ridiculous...unless things have changed they require permission to run in their "club" and frown on you racing elsewhere. Up until not that long ago they wouldn't even keep points. - URC is a fraction of what it once was and has been surpassed by USAC East Coast 360 Series. The king in the northeast is ESS.
Literally haven’t seen anything online but wondering, when you said dirt racing’s main player, were you referring to WRG? In that case combined with the rising cost of 360s, would a regional WoO 410 series (see ascoc / gumout) be a possibility? Or A more detailed 305 series? Again totally spit balling.
The problem with ascs and even 305s is the old technology makes it a money race. You can be 40-50k into a 360 motor that makes the same power as a 12k lsx crate motor. It would breath new life into the sport with a whole new crop of guys. Because you can make more power than a big dollar 305 for $1500 into a junkyard 5.3 truck motor
Yeah I’ve always thought this way, but something worth noting is that ECU’s will open a a huge box of worms and it will start a huge money race with horsepower and other things. If you think traction control and fuel mileage is a problem now? Wait until someone invests 10x to make it undetectable. There’s so many possibilities to go around the rules when you introduce EFI.
James McFadden has a job and is serving as a member of our American society, he should be able to stay and work. Compare his situation to how illegal immigration is currently going….
@@coach6662 that’s part of my point, sir, shouldn’t be having these issues. He’s not even asking for handouts like many others are, he’s just trying to do his job
@kylen82 a large majority of people coming to this country just want a job and to be independent. My great grandparents came from Norway for a better life; that's how most immigrants see America
He can do that, but he does not want to. His family is back in Australia and staying here would prevent him from racing year-round. I understand his situation but it's his choice.
I guess we will never hear about Jade and Taylor again other than a side show in the truck series maybe. I know nascar is desperate for a competitive female in the top series but i think their best bet at this point is to hope that Ty Gibbs transitions.
Huge sc fan and live to see James race, he is a great driver. Rir the sole purpose of him getting to race both places, I'd marry him . Did you hear that James ?
Would hate to see ASCS go away. They figured out qualifying isn't needed and they put on a good, end at a decent hour show. I've never traveled internationally so I don't know about delays in the various paper work. Are problems avoided by timely admin or can things go sideways at the gate at the whim of the staff on duty at the time?
Thanks for the shout out!! 👍🏻👊
Tough deal for McFadden. The whole ASCS situation is unfortunate to say the least. Can’t wait for dirt racing to get going full speed!! Great show!

Really would hate to see ASCS national tour go away! Some of the funnest times of my life came on that tour

Justin keep us updated on this topic please
They’ve ruined ASCS, the days of ASCS in its prime were amazing. Huge car counts , big events, great racing

It's a real shame that we're losing people to pavement racing. The true racing is on dirt.
Like who???
@@scored5 reimer and jade.
@sweetdaddydee1314 neither of them had what it takes to be a top 410 driver, that's why they are going to nascar, it's less competition
Looking forward to seeing how Zach Wigals season goes as he is from my hometown of Belpre,Ohio.
Thanks Justin!

NARC is a 410 series
AllStars was a great regional series that had been around longer than any other series. We all know what happened there.
@@billmellinger1134 Tough deal for the Ohio and some other racers. Powri now has a regional 410 series in the Midwest.
In the Great Lakes region we have the Great Lakes Super Sprints winged 360s. They have a decent following in our area.

How long can a 360 be raced between rebuilds VS a 410?
Sounds like the People who do the Visa can ruin a driver's Championship.

Yes, WRG.
Any idea what the upgrade cost would be from the 360 to 410?
The cost of a 410. There are really no similarities. Heads, block, injection, etc are all different. .
Shit loads
if the ascs national tour gets bought by wrg would thta meen ascs on dirtvision ?

A good 360 makes at least 730-780hp. A crate engine only makes 525hp, so im confused over your logic...
an LS engine can be built with a carb and distributor
Visa that’s a real knee slapper
James McFadden has a job and is serving as a member of our American society, he should be able to stay and work. Compare his situation to how illegal immigration is currently going….

Anyone know the reason why so many sprint car series don’t race in march?
March Madness maybe ?
Why anyone would run the ASCS is beyond me. The payouts are pathetic.

No as that would require him to have been a permanent resident (Green Card) for 5 years (3 if married to a citizen).
