Thank you so much for creating the only video out there which really explains all the value and details of this knife model, this helps to understand why the model became a legend
I'm enjoying you making some videos. I will never unsubscribe your Chanel because I know you'll be back and I don't want to miss it. You are the best knife Chanel.
Great insights on an interesting knife. This and the Socom are both overbuilt and well designed. I would have loved to see parts of the re-assembly, such as lubrication points, if needed.
The only reason I notice details like the ones on this knife is from watching your older videos. It's knowledge I appreciate quite a bit so thank you for that.
Great description. I enjoy looking at every little crevasse. Thank you for your knowledge and effort. I don't think the blade would ever break; the handle would go way before the M390 would, maybe except for the one quarter inch of the tip.
Fascinating, thanks for the detailed look. Do you think the internals of the Muicrotech/Bastinelli Brachial are basically the same in terms of pivot size, spring, lock etc?
I knew MIcrotechs were well made.....but my god, that's outstanding. The attention to detail at a minimum equals anything else in the price range - though I'd comfortably argue it's higher than anything other than CRKs in that range.
Cool breakdown. I wouldn’t recommend handing a stitch to a kid though lol. I’ve let 2 adults open mine and both of them dropped it from the kick of the action, which made me cringe to say the least, also had to repair my point and edge. I wouldn’t hand any auto knife to anyone that is not a knife enthusiast anymore.. people underestimate the power even when warned.
Came to see if I was going to run into any issues. I was worried because it’s a 2017 model. Lmao when I seen yours is the same as my two!! 05/2017 and 123 numbers apart from my Sn. That’s awesome man! Still got the knife?
I purchased this knife almost as soon as it was released. I looked for a disassembly video for months finally gave up. I was afraid to take this apart without seeing someone else do it first. The usual void your warranty stuff. So I really appreciate the take down video. Would you post a video putting it back together. That would be awesome. I’m kind of paranoid, did I mention the void your warranty taking this apart stuff? Thanks again awesome video.
Microtech does indeed machine their own hardware. The only thing they dont (or didnt) do was anodization and they may have brought that in house since i checked.
Tony makes guns too.....tony is in a class by himself....see them at the big show when they roll up in their black tundras....no one else is like that team...
Hey guys, if I take the coil spring and sand/cut the part that connects it to the knife will it act as a detent and will the knife function like a push button manual?
Just a heads up for guys who break down their Stitch, you might have to heat up the screws with a soldering iron, as they do use Red Loctite on some of their Stitches.
Yes. It will function as a manual button lock without the spring. You'd basically press the button and swing the blade out manually, then press again and let it swing closed under its own weight.
EKnives.com had some in stock, but they went fast. They will get more though. I would recommend checking out the Microtech dealers on the web and signing up for in stock notifications. If you get one, jump on it quickly. Good luck.
No one makes knives like tony does....I know one of his c&c men.....NC dude....he also sells for tony at the shows here in sc AND in nc....name is TIM....Tim has the best layout of tony's knives ....and the best prices....tony is just the best ....when tony goes to japan with his knives....they are all sold out as soon as he arrives....fact.
Good luck trying to outdo tony....and he is very humble....and I dont work for him or know him....i just know his stuff and his worker....tony is an innovator....and sets the bar.....kinda very high...hehe
Tactical Center knives have washers to take up space because the tolerances are loose, if your paying big money for a badass knife it shouldnt really need washers
I have several stitch’s personally and to be honest their pretty darn nice auto knives one of my favorite designs. Worth 300-400 dollars compared to other knifes in the same price range I would say yes based on overall unique design and quality construction. That said, I do agree TI handles would have been a great touch to add vs aluminum and price wise I think they could have did that. Washers really aren’t need the bushing design and strong spring fires crazy smooth and fast. Washers are mainly for adding smoothness on folders if the Stitch fired any smoother or faster the blade may shoot off into space. LOL Overall, it’s a great knife and surprising it carry’s pretty well in the pocket for its size thanks to shape and good pocket clip. Draw backs it’s a heavy duty knife at 6oz’s and has a lot of blade steel to it making it wider folded.$350-$400 is a lot of cash for most folks looking to buy a knife also.
Awesome video...... but the word.... chamfer/chamfered.... no extra A in it like I feel you say chama fured rather than cham fured. Sorry.... I kept watching and kept hearing that in my head =). Keep up the great work brother!
Stick it in a tree and step on it that pivot will pop first. Very cool that you notices and can explain all the details. Nice,Thx. Such a great blade shape!
How tf did you get the pivot to break free? I've tried 3 different bits (broke 2 of them) and can not get the pivot to even break free. Almost feels like they used a whole freaken bottle of red loctite on the damn thing or like both sides are captive. If I can't take this thing apart to service it, its gone because I'm not gonna own a knife I can't service myself without damaging it.
Really starting to think my auto Stitch was taken apart and reassembled with a shit ton of red loctite sometime after it left the factory and got to me. every auto Stitch I've seen so far has the 3 ringed blade stop as the blade stop whereas mine has the single ring spacer as the blade stop and the 3 ringed barrel (the actual blade stop) as the rear spacer. I also pretty much destroyed my pivot to the point it has to be sent back and replaced because of how tight the damn thing is. I broke 3 bits trying to remove the pivot and also broke 2 of the torx teeth off the pivot itself and the damn pivot never budged whatsoever. pisses me off that I have to send it back (not only giving up knife for how long but now something I'm probably going to have to pay to fix) espcially considering this is my very first Microtech purchase. 2nd Microtech purchase was the MSI and not happy with that either due to the ram lock failing. really starting to wonder why everyone loves Microtech so much because I'm far from happy with my 2 purchases so far.
I like my stitch,, but too many parts, the springs will fail sooner or later, for me it isnt a great EDC Very cool knife but not a keeper. My Socom Tanto dated 1999 , very heavily used is still fantastic. I'll either sell the Stitch or beat it to death to see how it holds up. My PM2 is actually much more useful
Thank you so much for creating the only video out there which really explains all the value and details of this knife model, this helps to understand why the model became a legend
Microtech's attention to detail warrants the price for me.
I'm enjoying you making some videos. I will never unsubscribe your Chanel because I know you'll be back and I don't want to miss it. You are the best knife Chanel.
Got this very same knife and finish. Love it. I EDC this and a Microtech Combat Troodon. Robust knives.
Microtech does make their own screws and hardware.
I have never been able to see the inside of an auto. That sir is why you are the man! Thanks Randy!
I enjoyed this video takedown of my new Borka/Stitch auto. Thank you.
Great insights on an interesting knife. This and the Socom are both overbuilt and well designed. I would have loved to see parts of the re-assembly, such as lubrication points, if needed.
Excellent breakdown of a tank of a knife. Great view inside a great knife!
Very informative! Did not see all the finer points of the machining until you brought them to my attention.
I have been a fan of yours since the beginning....and yes....you are great!
The only reason I notice details like the ones on this knife is from watching your older videos. It's knowledge I appreciate quite a bit so thank you for that.
Love this breakdown of the stitch.
I absolutely love your knife videos. I’ve watched a ton of them in the past couple days. Keep it up!!
I love the design, and the huge choil.
If they made a manual version of this, I would be on it. Not crazy about sidewinders.
Sidewinder is the perfect term! Do you like the new manual version?
@@lindboknifeandtool I do, and it looks real solid. Very interested.
@@voodoo7008 are they hard to get?
@@lindboknifeandtool I don’t know. I’ve not looked into them yet, but imagine that at first they will be.
Great Vid, Thank you for doing it!! I just bought this model!!
Great description. I enjoy looking at every little crevasse. Thank you for your knowledge and effort. I don't think the blade would ever break; the handle would go way before the M390 would, maybe except for the one quarter inch of the tip.
That was a damn good video. Now I want one of these even more. Talk about solid.
That knife is built like a tank! Great video Randy!
Thank you for the great video as always randy
Here's a question randy. Can you remove that spring and use it as a Flickr with button lock???? Would that work??
this is what i need before my decision. Well done, bro.
Fascinating, thanks for the detailed look. Do you think the internals of the Muicrotech/Bastinelli Brachial are basically the same in terms of pivot size, spring, lock etc?
I’m not sure, never handled one but probably yes as a guess. I’m a poet and didn’t know it lol
Thanks for this! Love the deep dives.
Ohh mamma that’s one of my grail knives as I live in the UK it’s going to stay on that grail list for a damn long time 😘👍
Good review...thanks for sharing your videos

Amen, had the same problem with an adult, he let the knife shoot straight into the table 😭
Came to see if I was going to run into any issues. I was worried because it’s a 2017 model. Lmao when I seen yours is the same as my two!! 05/2017 and 123 numbers apart from my Sn. That’s awesome man! Still got the knife?
They should do manual version to use that hole in blade, with liner lockbar like in Amphibian.
Do you think the spring could be removed? Make the knife manual button lock only?
Would love to see the inside of the Microtech Hawk and how you think it compares to the Stitch.
Now we just need a reassembly
nice breakdown Randy, dig it........
Can you post an assembly video
I purchased this knife almost as soon as it was released. I looked for a disassembly video for months finally gave up. I was afraid to take this apart without seeing someone else do it first. If you take out the spring, is it a manual buttonlock?
Yeah i was wondering that too...
Awesome video, thanks!
A Man's knife. 💪
A really impressive knife! It makes me want one bad! But, I have too resist...must..resist...urges...
do it!
Microtech does indeed machine their own hardware. The only thing they dont (or didnt) do was anodization and they may have brought that in house since i checked.

amazing video quality man
Been killin it Bro. 4 videos in a week??? Awesome sauce!! Lol
Not a huge fan of the nice but man it's good to see you back hope cor more and hope to see some knife pimping tutorials
hey in what angle do you sharp your blade
hi, to convert it to a no-auto just take the spring apart and it will works, what do you think? thanks
Hey guys, if I take the coil spring and sand/cut the part that connects it to the knife will it act as a detent and will the knife function like a push button manual?
Can it be converted to a manual button lock?
What is the coil spring diameter?
Just a heads up for guys who break down their Stitch, you might have to heat up the screws with a soldering iron, as they do use Red Loctite on some of their Stitches.
Why does the blade stop have ridges? Won't that make it wear faster over time and cause up and down play?
Awesome video. What is the coil spring diameter? It looks like a .50”. I need to order spares because coils will eventually break.
Awesome video!
Does anyone know where I could get screws? I’ve lost some of mine over the years.
Great video!
awesome review
Great video! I just got one and was always ehhh on microtec. I think I have a different perspective now
kool video, thx for sharing!
awesome review man! congrats. can you do one review like that for the socom elite please?
I absolutely enjoyed watching this video! So brave to open the knife up! Thank you for that awesome video!
No, just because it is cut out dont mean that is the weakest point. Its clamped from 2 sides by 2 more peices of metal at the pivot.
just got one anyway to make the button easier to use not so stuck hard push to it? thanks
How much is this knife going for??
Could cleaning an old knife reduce its value ?
Would the knife be functional without the spring.
Yes. It will function as a manual button lock without the spring. You'd basically press the button and swing the blade out manually, then press again and let it swing closed under its own weight.
Do you know where I would be able to buy a micro tech stitch? Can you recommend a website or place?
EKnives.com had some in stock, but they went fast. They will get more though. I would recommend checking out the Microtech dealers on the web and signing up for in stock notifications. If you get one, jump on it quickly. Good luck.

Do the 2018 socom elite!
I'd bet that Stitch would outlast a Spyderco.
Good luck trying to outdo tony....and he is very humble....and I dont work for him or know him....i just know his stuff and his worker....tony is an innovator....and sets the bar.....kinda very high...hehe
do the socom next those are very well built to
Do one on the 2018 socom elite please.I have one but not sure how to disasimble it.Thanks.
i just cant get over how it costs 3-400$+ for aluminum handles. doesnt even have washers, just rides on the aluminum.
Tactical Center knives have washers to take up space because the tolerances are loose, if your paying big money for a badass knife it shouldnt really need washers
Big Worm You should educate yourself before you go making ignorant statements like that.
Big Worm that's dumb, stuff like phosphor bronze or even telfon washers exist to minimize friction aswell
Max D your gay

Had you spent even a month working with your hands you would realize 14:52 doesn't make a difference!
What do you mean?
