the larger ones yes. I had a few different ones and I'd mostly agree with you. The small 46-size Decathlon from Seagull though flies like a dream, even without any rudder input, very light and steady.
This must have been this guys first or second RC plane. You could tell during his flight he wasn't using the rudder in turns and if you look closely you can see the reason he veered so hard to the right on landing was because he was giving it hard right rudder when he should have been giving it left. He also got aileron control backwards after he flew over the top of himself. He needs to spend some time on the simulator and maybe fly some smaller less valuable stuff for a while.
Agree,I made the same mistake I went and bought a big plane and crashed it first go,I was so distrot,I was told to practice on sim and buy smaller high wing plane, this was probably 8years ago.

@@makantahi3731 Yes, of coarse. All student RC pilots should always be on instructor pilot cord, unless they don't care about loosing their aircraft like in this video. Just a stupid waste of a very nice plane.

Rudder servo backwards?? Even the takeoff was wonky. I was wondering why the heck it was pulling RIGHT on takeoff - opposite of normal. Then the landing.
I fly electric and usually on finals , I slowly reduce throttle and slight elevator up on finals . Why did he suddenly throttle up last minute? Maybe he should have got a beginner trainer like a cub, ranger or timber
Some people have got way too much money than sense, and this is one of those cases. It was clear to see, as he turned the corners, he used no rudder when clearly you could see the tail was low. I'm wondering, has he learned his lesson? ie: learn to fly smaller and cheaper models before going out and spending a fortune on these large scale models. After all, the Decathlon is not only an easy model to fly, it's also a beautiful model to fly.
easy way to learn how to fly when airplane comes to you is to move controls of rudder and aileron in direction of airplane for ex: if airplane goes on left of you, move rudder/aileron to left
That thing was pulling right from the off. If you stop the video at bang on 3 min you can see lots of right rudder so i am guessing it had right thrust on the motor causing the right pull on throttle up and then the pilot got confused and hit more right rather than left making it a very sad ending. Lesson learnt.
Disorientation during landing, tried to over correct using rudder causing a slip. Once airspeed bled off, fatal stall- spin sequence at low altitude. Same thing happened to a real life Kingair in Addison TX that killed everyone on board (10 people)
Yes, as in most crashes with RC planes! And why was there full right rudder two times in the go-around? And then it crashed because of full left rudder… to go around just a bit of power would have allowed him to keep control… 🤔
Bet you didn't set any aileron differential. The aileron drag is collosal on these types. Especially at low speeds. You need at least 30% more up aileron than down aileron.
That really is some bad luck, and im sorry for your crash. That was a beautiful airplane, but it is very repairable. It's an unfortunate side of the hobby though. I've been there myself.
Another prime example why we need to learn how to fly first, before buying such a big model. It's not only wasting money, but putting everyone around in danger as well. This "pilot" could have seriously injured or even killed someone. He was lucky this time.
@@dynevor6327 that's what I saw. Like maybe he put in opposite commands than he intended to. It may have discombobulated him when he flew it over his head.

Only one part needed to fix. The big red and white thing that attaches to the top of the landing gear.😁
😅
I'm dieing 😅😅😅😅
Yep, that was purdy good, lol, bummer, tho.
Have had many decathlons,
They all flew like a bus
Big wing, short fuse, got to be proficient rudder pilot to handle one

He should train with foam planes to stear with rudder and to use the engine due landing.

kenapa landingnya di batalkan mas atau mau t & g ?
Mungkin karena berasa masih ketinggian speednya, mau dia batalkan

The Decathlon is a hot rod with wings.

That was not "bad luck". The pilot doesn't have enough skill to be flynig that plane. He does not know how to land. Time to go back to foamy trainers.

Sepertinya dia mau membatalkan, tp pas di gas sepertinya rudder ikut kesentuh, sehingga disorientasi.
