Hi Ruth, I have only been onboard for a short time. I'm South African, living in the UK and widowed a year ago and with no family here it is so good to see friendly giving people on TH-cam. Your Ruthie shawl colours you are going to knit is just up my street. Maybe you could help me, I am uber sensitive to all wool and other natural fibers. I sometimes think I am the only one on the planet, because most podcasts are really geared towards everything natural. By the way your Ruth shawl has definitely got little yellow bows. Thank you for being positive and happy we need it.
I am so sorry for your loss. There are so many more options now for all sensitivites. I love natural wool but there are plenty of nice acrylics around now. Have a google or go on wool warehouse.
I've cast on my Ruth shawl! And cast it on again.....and again.......and again. This is my first ever lace knit and i am struggling but am determined to get into the groove. I think i may finally have the twist between the main and contrast yarn correct so hopefully the next cast on will be the final one.

So exciting for you--and it transfers to us as well. So of course I need to make the Ruthie Shawl. I am trying to add some more brightness to my wardrobe, but not "too much" so I will definitely do a grey MC and a bright color for the CC. Now I just have to wait for the yarn to arrive (thanks for enabling my shopping and shawl knitting 😎 don't worry, it happens as the wind blows...)

I have started the Ruth Shawl today in Yarnsmiths Merino Sock Superwash (4-ply) in 75% merino wool plus nylon, in two contrasting colours. It's very soft and smooth and, although I had to undo it and restart, I think I'm getting the hang of it......

Ruth, I have a 17 yo boy and a 16 yo boy and they eat SO much!! Both my boys are 6'3" ish and it takes a LOT to fill them up!
My 14yr old is 6ft now too with hollow legs!!
