You sir did a fabulous job putting this project together. One of the hardest things to do sometimes is taking your time and completing the project to your best ability when you just want to get it together and use it. However you took your time obviously and It came out great.

Was/am considering building either an entirely new maybe 1” steel tube frame to carry the track components, and one concern is incorporating a boxed in storage area top of the track, pails, auger, maybe a 3 man flip over hut, whatever extra weight is over top that track in my mind will make for tougher steering but should give better traction rather then having no weight over track. Now see if I was still your age it would be loaded down with beer and likely some whiskey too haha.

I been brainstorming how to outfit a sled to transport my friend whos handicapped ( a gimper) without too much unstableness which would be disasterouse and painfull. but I could use a means of hauling him rather than trying to traverse a wheelchair guy over ruts, ice crust and general winter terrain. And still haul the 2 shelters and all the gear. Looking for Ideas.

Nice build nic. Did you end up playing with the final drive sprocket size ? Like start with a 10 tooth and work your way up ? Would be awesome to incorporate a low/high and reverse transmission of some kind, maybe off a lawn tractor, some red nic engineering !! More vids please. There are a lot of people out there that are interested in building something that is economical, reliable and fairly cheap to build . For myself I would like to build one for dragging logs out of the Bush, nothing fast just a lot of torque.

Great job! I am watching this video because I am building one also. I found a dead snowmobile I had planned to use, but now I'm told two tracks are better than just one. Also the sled runners inside the tracks limit it to snow use only. Two tracks with basically wheel barrel wheels inside can be used in the summer too. What size engine did you use? I bought one through Northern Tools 420cc. This video was back in January, did you find any problems or anything you would change? How do you like it now that you have used it more?
