    The use of numbers makes me confuse it with the Enneagram.
    As a social type 3, I hate it when I'm chosen to be the leader. I'm good at MY THING. I don't want to control other people and their things. It's weird how 3s follow the trusted path, while at the same time doing everything their own way. But it's true. When I become interested in something like a new hobby, I have to do tons of research to determine the best way to get into it.

    I like this expansion, and I think it can explain a lot. I agree a different form of labeling, other than numbers, would be helpful. There's too many systems with numbers in the personality realm.
    I'm looking forward to applying this, and so far it's pretty easy to practice when watching movies and shows. Easier than spotting functions, I think, because people *seem* to feel less "shame" about their social type, and don't try to hide it. I suppose hence "social" type 🤣

    I laughed when I watch number 3. They are so dumb, they have flex but not want to be at the top, they specialize too hard and forget to do what it takes to reach their goals. But wait... I think I might be number 3 lol

    This is great. I'm pretty sure I'm a 3 and a lot of this lines up with stuff I noticed about myself years ago...very much excel over most people when I'm in a specific structured framework that's working towards a goal with incremental steps and progress, like school, and almost totally dysfunctional outside of that.

    • @powerforu94
      @powerforu94 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I've been going back and forth on my social type with other people from the community over the past few months, but the way you phrase it really resonates.
      Excelling at school was easy, but now, having to do a job that doesn't have a well defined framework or goal, and needs you to be more of a 2, it's a struggle.
      Also, the rules thing that Dave mentions might finally explain a behavior of mine that's kinda counter to my type: I've always had these personal self-restraint rules like "no smoking, no excessive drinking, no recreational drugs, no gambling, no paying for sex" that didn't come from my environment or parents or religion or anything - it's just things I decided for myself and considering I'm a MF Se/Ti CPBS you'd think I'd be super drawn and susceptible to those things, rather than run away from them.
      So being a 3 and therefore IxxJ-like might be the counter balance that's saved me from getting hooked on those addictions.

    • @Owlsworthy
      @Owlsworthy 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What you said was a beautiful representation of Oi. I’m not sure I see how it relates to being a #3 though. Do you mind me asking what do you specialize in? Also I’ve seen you on Reddit, you’re NiTi right?

    • @StanTheWoz
      @StanTheWoz 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@Owlsworthy yeah, so it's kind of the same thing Dave was talking about with his dad like going through a school program and kind of this sequence of mastering one thing, then the next thing, then the next in a very structured environment so that 5, 10, however many years later, he eventually has that broad skillset through gaining all those skills one at a time. Doing it all at the same time by just jumping in would be too much. School classes and training programs will do stuff like that, where you're just mastering one thing for a week or a month, and then you move onto the next one. And you do the assignments or whatever, you take the test, you get a result that shows that you've learned it and can move on. It's good for social type 3 because it cuts out all of the different random things you might have to be "responsible" for if you jumped right into starting a business - legal incorporation, taxes, payroll, safety standards, market research, advertising, whatever your actual business is, etc. You'd have to do all that stuff at once. In a training program you can learn one at a time. Some kind of apprenticeship or introductory position could also achieve a similar result of course.
      And yeah the fact that I'm a very introverted and Oi type of dude definitely also contributes, the demon Play as well as demon Oe means I tend to get exhausted by random chaos or having to run all over the place and do a bunch of different things.
      When I was in school I mostly specialized in math and did some teaching but that didn't really pan out after graduation so I've had to find other work, which is an ongoing process and kind of the biggest life struggle for the past several years though I'm in an okay position right now relatively speaking. I've also had various "hobby specializations" over time of course, like certain video games and this personality theory stuff.

      @@StanTheWozoh! That makes sense. I'm officially typed #4 but was having a hard time understanding specialize. So it's not that you choose one thing and specialize, it's you specialize on what's in front of you at that time of life. Thank you for helping me understand. I can't imagine how hard it must be to be Oi on top of specialize. Glad you're in a good place now 😊

      I don’t believe anything easily but I was fascinated when I saw the patterns in real life in my family members and friends! I can very clearly see the social types. Social types are like the long term goal that people have that is manifested and competed through saviours, at least that’s how I see it in people close to me, but yeah it’s 100% real I can see those patterns and also it’s super useful tool

    I love that Andrew Tate was the knee jerk response to a bad INFJ.
    I feel like I have the "enjoy life now" philosophy. I'm not an ambitious person, and I definitely am more specialize than generalize, but I wonder if my perception of that is warped because I'm savior Ti and Demon Fe, I feel like I'm not a Four because I don't have a ton of friends, but it is still a value for me, I spend a lot of one-on-one time with my family, so maybe I am a Four, I just get confused because I'm not being all Fe crazy when I interact with people.

    As an ExxP lead consume #3, I never understood how people could agree on a project spontaneously. Oh no, how could you forget a precise evaluation of your resources, knowledge and capability to complete a task? I'd just always refuse with the collective work/work that's assigned to me from the external, one that I wasn't interested in with the remark "I'm not suited for that." once and once again. Are you really supposed to figure it as you go? But what's... the purpose of that, to spit out the task completion? I want everything I go into to leave a deep mark on me, or I truly won't learn, won't extract anything useful in the long run. And this path I'm going down contains only... those 3 things (technically 1) I'm pro in, yeah, your guess is correct.

      @alert7750 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Markbenwisch it's really just a coin that can be typed separately. For starters, you figure out your observer vs decider, then animals. My attention is always directed outside, at the external with great immersion, but it's quiet and doesn't want to interact with info too much, just observe constantly. You can also rule it out by using Di vs De, Oe vs Oi. Your modalities can help. I'm mDi+mOe, so it wasn't hard for me to see where my literal primary conscious attention goes every second. As for fDi/fOe - you can feel directing more energy to other animals, but you still do something else and find your default mode to be observation, as for consume first. If an animal has at least one F, you'll feel the difference - you don't treat that side seriously, an animal can be less intense, permeating, deliberate in that half, but the mere compulsion that animals track is still here.

    Wait! I thought Friends (type 4) enjoying life in the here and now were bad Townsfolk people according to OPS. And Shave criticised everyone for not resonating with their type, but in this video he admits he himself was struggling with OPS type contradictions and so he invented the Social types. And now he's telling people it takes 15 years (when he's 55) to have his OPS personal growth and happiness all sorted out. I'd be ashamed to lure people into wasting their lives on a 15 year project that is based on Shave's mere personal preferences and idiosyncrasies.

    Nice clickbait :) Thanks for sharing your spin on this for the tribe Dave.
    One really interesting thing about personality typology is the hierarchy of sacrifice.
    What I'm finding is people are more willing to sacrifice their 512 type for their social type because there's more "emotional weight" on their social type. It feels more personal and real because its connected to a personal story/hero's journey/the personal myth.
    But this is only the beginning of one's story. The end part of it is what's meaningful for someone. And if we find our meaning, then we're willing to sacrifice our social type (social need/archetype/social instinct) in order to manifest meaning.
    I have some powerful visuals which shows a structures of the psyche and how personal meaning is actually the pathway to collective meaning, which inevitably is opening up a portal to another universe which is experienced outside of oneself.
    At the end of the day, we're just following natures script/agenda. It'll be interesting to see where this takes us.
