I am stunned by your documentary. 🙏🏻
I changed my eating habits drastically - vegetarian, my intuition “told” me so. Lately, I felt I should stop drinking coffee - so I did. I quit smoking in Summer 2020, chose self isolation in Nov 2019 after a burnout. This coincided with a spiritual awakening. My mind is quite tranquil now, while in the past I was constantly thinking. I deeply reflected upon my traumata via accessing my unconscious. The shadow realm is quite intense, but it enabled the cure of my inner child. There is nothing more exciting to see the world through the eyes of the inner child.
I have been watching both your documentaries and they are proof that my natural intuition is somehow Taoism pure without even having a deep knowledge of it. Somehow I put puzzle pieces from psychology, neuroscience, spirituality, history, etymology, medicine et al. together on my own, usually little pieces were sufficient to get a big picture view. I also experienced the artist experience of creating something without thinking about it (acrylic painting) - I trusted my flow, the process... funnily I cannot even visualize (aphantasia), which makes meditation even more exciting, because I am receiving clearly electromagnetic radiation in all chakra colours in front of my third eye. Since I cannot visualize this is proof to me that there is more in our universe than science can explain.
Big thanks to you! I see your videos as a confirmation that I am on the right path ☺️, and that I do not have to investigate further. That drive has been gone a few weeks ago... now I am focusing on feeling.

From the bottom of my heart: this is probably the most important thing, most impactful lecture, most precious gift I had the chance to receive. These two videos are masterfully crafted, I will honour the effort you put into this by sharing it with my friends and family and by trying to live accordingly. Thank you, my friend! This has reached me exactly at the right time as over the last decade I have been kind of a manic chi-siphon, whilst my own inner fire devoured me and left me exhausted. And I surely am not alone with this! Fasting the mind, cultivating yin, yessir! Then let this have been the end of my mindless binging through this vast limbo of distraction and embrace silence and trust. 💙💎

I am grateful for the fact that just discovered your channel through The Art of Effortless Living two days ago. And yes, it was the perfect timing as how the law of attraction usually works. I listened this video in this morning, what a great way to start a day! Listening your contents is joyful way to be in the moment especially when my mind is agitated. (: Also checked your website, judging by the quality of your videos I bet your books are as remarkable.
As a person born and grew up in far East I was not interested in Eastern philosophy for the first three decades of my life. But I found myself always captivated by the words from those who originally western born but obtained depth of both western and eastern philosophy/spirituality. To me their way of speeches are so effective, easier to digest and apply than those speakers/writers that are eastern born even though I don't doubt the eastern born also have good depth on both side of philosophies. I guess you are one of those exceptionally people have such depth in both way and know how to explain well.
Your contents are as listenable as Alan Watts' speech videos. I didn't expect to hear such words in Australian accent which is amusing and refreshing. :D

    • @JasonGregoryAuthor
      @JasonGregoryAuthor  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Wow! Thank you for your wonderful comment Shaaun. To read your comment makes all the hard work worth it, especially that my work is making complex Eastern philosophies easy to digest for others. Also it is an honor to be in the same conversation as Alan Watts, he was a great influence on my work. As for my accent, I think you are the only person who has commented in a favorable manner. A lot of people don't like it which is odd considering its just an accent. But I appreciate your humble gratiude my friend and I am planning to create a lot more just like this video.

There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

MMA is Yang over Yin in the marketing, public perception, and a few outliers in the ring. I get the cooperation thing you mentioned, but cooperation doesn't show what works and what doesn't work (which is the ultimate goal of mma, revealing what works in real life and simplifying/applying martial arts to as real a situation as possible without being too unsafe). There's also plenty of cooperation behind the scenes and also plenty of fighters that embrace yin over yang. Just look at Gunnar Nelson or Zabit Magomedsharipov

Great video! Intuitively relate to most of the points shared here. Except for that Yang needs to be conservative. Let's look at nature itself. Both the forces are profusely present and active. As long as Yin/spirit is leading, Yang can be as profuse as it needs to be without going toxic. All we need to do is fulfil the deficiency of Yin and give it the lead. We do not need to suppress or conserve Yang in anyway. That will create a counter-force and a whole other issue. Without the mutual industriousness of the both in a harmonious tandem, there is no manifestation. Another thing I want to say is about the 'I'. The 'I' doesn't dissolve, it just occupies the whole expanse of the universe and starts associating to it instead of the ego. It becomes the essense of 'I am That'. The 'I' is not bad, just limited and misinformed. Also, Confucius's wisdom is always coloured by a worldly point of view which tastes delicious with a pinch of salt for seekers of pure energy 🙏

Nope, not at all. This is also part of the Taoist tradition, whether you like it or not. I worked very hard for many months on this documentary and so your opinion of it being cheap is purely subjective and the name of the game is to get out of subjectivity. Also, word of advice, I would try not to talk to strangers in a forthright way as if your opinion matters. Never overestimate yourself like that. Remember, I don't know you and you really don't know me, so we should be kind and courteous. Manners is an essential aspect on the spiritual path. I will continue to make the content that I feel matters and if that offends you then that is on you. Nothing I can do about it. I hope you are not too eager to get offended in the future.

I watched both. Great understanding and expression. It really changed my way of thinking. Since I had suffered Anxiety attacks in past , I could find the explanation in the documentaries. It reminded me the concept of ardhnariswara ie. half male - half female an avatara of Shiva, which is nothing but a balance of ying and yang....So much similarity in both the philosophies but neither chinese are following Tao nor Indians are following Yoga in true sense..

To know when to stop; to really look within all things without self; is to be in harmony with Tao. Love yourself no matter what.

Just the same way we are critical of others we must be held to the same critical thinking level of ourselves...this video is a usage of words to describe something one has learned...we need both yin and yan...one cannot be more than the other...that's called extremism...super powers are possible they call it the movement of chi...and while trying to describe something sometimes isn't enough just like the words of this comment and the video..it doesn't mean there isn't something to learn...because life is a constant co creative learning process in so many levels guided by love...
It's good to listen but also listen to your own life lessons of wherever you are and share what you learn
Good stuff thanks for putting this video together
