@Kingsley96 I think the shorter season also helps a lot! We have less "Filler" episodes and season 4 misses this entire "TV Feeling", if you know what I mean. Less case of the day means more plot developtment in a shorter amount of time and I really like how dense and fast paced (in the best possible way) is! The writers now exactly how much time they need to tell their story. Netflix offered them 1h episodes, but they stuck with about 49 minutes. A Bit more than the TV episodes, but still much shorter than they couldve been. I think it's interesting they don't go Overboard with the nudity and violence they are allowed to show now, because they know what the fans want and if it suddenly turns into The Punisher.... Idk. Maybe we will see much more of the darker Lucifer in Season 5, which will hopefully come! It's common knowledge Netflix tends to end their shows after 3 seasons, so I hope we will get 2 more. But even that seems too short to me! 😩
The episodes that weren’t like this were the ones that got the show canceled. The whole thing about his mother got the show off track. It’s great that S4 starts off in the style that worked the best.
Tom's face. Tom's voice. The lyrics. The filmmaking. This scene is just a damn masterpiece! In less than 2 minutes, season 4 had already fulfilled the fans!
More and more desperate over the month that Chloe is away. It's like we can watch him sinking into depression or another form of breakdown. Beautiful (and sad, of course, but beautiful!).
I think the fact that we are so taken by this version of creep is because it’s so fitting to the story line, and we have had 3 seasons of context before the video attaching a LOT of emotion into a small portion of this beautiful song. I love this so much, it’s felt very deeply
There’s so many tiny details too Like the amount of cigarettes increases the sadder he gets. The amount of drinks too The background becomes dimmer and the lights are a darker hue. Just this one scene shows how good Netflix actually is!
Yup. Especially since my internet often sucks for streaming, I was like, "Oh, no, is the whole season going to be laggy?" And then my mom is like, "That's not lag; his clothes are changing." And I was like, "...OH! That's brilliant! Holy shit!"

Yess that's insane😍 I also love the scene in which Cloe was poisoned and lucifer went back to hell for her and everyone tried to save her with the song unsteady in the background that was amazing
That was an extremely astute observation about the details, especially the throne depiction behind Lucifer. Brilliant! All the more reason why I LOVE this show.
What a great introduction after such a long time. The song lyrics literally fit the situation and environment where the character is at the moment while also being amazingly shot to show that the time has passed
Lyrcis: When you were here before Couldn't look you in the eye You're just like an angel Your skin makes me cry You float like a feather In a beautiful world Oh, I wish I was special You're so very special [Chorus] But I'm a creep I'm a weirdo What the hell am I doing here? Oh, I don't belong [Bridge] She's running out again She's running out Again
I'm so glad netflix picked it up. In once scene they showed they can do better than Fox - The back drop throne. The way Lucifers hair gradually gets messier as time lengthens with chloes departure. The way they represent a month so effortlessly through changing environments. Not to mention those camera angles and Tom's magnificent singing. Absolutely marvelous.
I'm going interpret this scene: 0:00-0:28. That's when Luci first met Chloe, how she made him feel things he never felt or thought he could. How she stroked him from the beginning. 0:29-0:50 Their time together. All the great moments, how she became the most special person on his life, and how he learned to love. 0:51-1:13. When Chloe found out who he is and left. He felt himself like a creep, a weirdo, completely lost without her. 1:14-1:45. He's completely broken. Afraid that he lost her forever, and now thinks life is no longer worthy of fighting for. Goddammit, this scene was beautiful! The piano, the editing, Tom's expressions, his voice breaking down more and more as time progresses, just brilliant.
Well I mean he did showed up in a mans dream and sang a song beautifully. It’s quite famous (the story) i think it’s called the Devil Song or sum. Yeah so the guy sang in real world and he became famous.
I 100 percent agree with that statement, but at the same time your condescending ignorant remarks are exactly why atheists get a bad rap. It’s your fault.
I love how you can slowly see time taking it's toll on Lucifer, as he realizes the Detective isn't gonna be coming back soon. He stops doing his hair, his suits become more messy, his beard even becomes messier.
[Sing with Lucifer]: When you were here before Couldn't look you in the eye You're just like an angel Your skin makes me cry You float like a feather In a beautiful world Oh, I wish I was special You're so very special But I'm a creep I'm a weirdo What the hell am I doing here? Nice. I would change 'beautiful' for 'terrible' though to emphasise the beauty.
It is so fascinating that the song Creep was probably written before 1992 yet the lyrics reflect so much to Lucifer's situation towards Chloe. He sees Chloe as angel, floating like a feather in a beautiful world. Lucifer hopes he's special to Chloe. Chloe is so special to him. Clearly, he doesn't belong here on Earth. Then Chloe runaway after learning who is the real Lucifer. It just really fascinates me. It's like written for Lucifer show. I love this song so much
even other lyrics are directly important, i find the 'couldn't look you in the eye' one particularly interesting since lucifer can't use his powers on Chloe making her all the more interesting. and it also doubles seeing as how lucifer can't actually look her in the eye, since he can't exactly reveal his true face
the lyrics are perfect for this season: the way he hates himself bc he thinks he is a monster and he feels he doesn’t belong there, the way he sees chloe as perfect (and she is a miracle), the way chloe was running away from him in the beginning...
@@archlorddestin I'm just so glad this season existed, it was the best by far, I loved every minute of it. But yes. At least another 2 to entirely wrap up the full story would be great!
I have to say, this is my favorite part of Lucifer. Oml. When Tom Ellis sings this with all of his usual emotion and Lucifer’s desperation it is perfect. I don’t usually say this but, it it better than the original. I LOVE when he sings the line “in a beautiful world” with that burst of emotion. Oh, can’t forget the perfectness of the last of the song when he sings “she’s running out again” .. it is BETTER than perfect, no, it is BETTER than HEAVENLY. I love the character Tom Ellis made and how he doesn’t ever stop being the actor we all know and love. ❤
When you were here before Couldn't look you in the eye You're just like an angel Your skin makes me cry You float like a feather In a beautiful world Oh I wish I was special You're so very special But I'm a creep I'm a weirdo What the hell am I doing here? This actually made me cry, and I don't cry easily. I love this scene because I see myself in someone else for once. It shows a realistic example of poor mental health, something we especially need nowadays.
Also I think this series show very well how human the celestials are.. even in the Bible all actions made by the higher powers are driven by emotion. As with all theologies (if that's the right word lol). He killed this role🔥
This entire season was a man diving into mental health issues. The scene at the end of episode 8 with Lucifer in Linda's office (I don't want to spoil anything) hit me really hard, as someone who struggles with an anxiety/depressive disorder. I'll freely admit it made me cry. And at the end of the season, where some people saw Lucifer "accepting responsibility", it looked more to me like he was giving up (not in a way that he deserves blame, just in a desperate, "I have no options left so fuck it, I'll do whatever" kind of way). Such a heartfelt season, and I really hope season 5 lets Lucifer be truly happy for a bit before kicking him down again.
@@IceMetalPunk I've been bingeing on Lucifer this month and am nearly halfway through season 3. You saying about the mental health side...I'm dealing with a renewed depression after a few years of freedom. Would you suggest waiting a little bit before seeing the episode you mention? Or would using it as a good excuse for a good cry & cuddles be better?
@@kendesari That depends on you. I definitely cried, but whether it made me feel any better or not, I really can't say. If you're up for a cry and some great writing, watch it; if you're not up for that, wait a bit until you're ready. It certainly hits you hard in the heart.
Magikarp's Ghost Oh yes! Also, there’s a bit of foreshadowing too. The background is a representation of the throne in Hell and the suit at the end is what he wore that the end of the season.
I pull this clip up so many times because I think it's one of the most masterfully shot scenes in any show in existence. Tom Ellis performs this song like no other and the pain that you can see in him feels so real as the time lapse progresses through to the present. They knew damn well what they were doing when they cast this man as Lucifer.
I love this scene. A lot of work, thought, and emotions were poured into it and it's extremely well done. The jump cuts showing, not telling, how Lucifer is losing himself more and more towards his own emotions: his internal conflict, his fear of loss, and his fear of hurting someone close to him... This scene is absolutely spectacular.
I am now in love with this song thanks to Lucifer, the song fits perfectly for Lucifer and Chloe's relationship, Netflix did such a good job just on the first episode (I haven't watched anymore just yet I just finished episode 1)
@@guapoovale I'm almost done with episode 6 and I'm already hyped for season 5 and it's not even confirmed yet (hopefully they make a season 5). I think Netflix did a way better job than Fox, not that Fox did a bad job, they just made it feel a bit repetitive
Ig I'm the only one that thought season 4 was horrible? Cheesy acting, the plot was inconsistent and off the walls. Even the sub plots of the crimes in each episode were much harder to follow than previously. Eve was played by this no name actress I had to look up bc I thought she was a pornstar 😂. Just really didnt like her character at all thought she was poorly written. But if it doesnt matter my opinion lol

He wrote the song ... ;-) ... as all songs with this dark touched success Like ... Sympathy with the Devil, Highway to hell. Etc. The devil never covers others. He is the original. Radiohead, Rolling Stones, ACDC etc. covering the Lord of the underworld.
I started this series because I thought it was funny and wanted to laugh at it. Now, 5 months later, I'm emotionally attached to 90% of the characters. Please send help Edit: At this point, every reply is just people flexing with how quickly they finished the show
Season 4 was a masterpiece. Season 1 was great. Season 2 was average. Season 3 was pretty bad. The show is not a masterpiece but season 4 definitely is! Season 1 was always my favorite until I watched season 4 yesterday (I watched it yesterday because after season 3 I was done with the show, I’m so glad I gave it another chance) Thank you Netflix. You restored my faith in this show. I don’t want it to end now!😭
Me analyzing this scene: It starts with Lucifer singing, refering to when he showed Chloe his demon face and how he feels about her, calling her an angel. But then he starts refering to him as a monster, a creep, a weirdo, as something else, because he is. He's becoming the Devil he has been calling himself all this time, also showing his how much he feels that its his fault, that he's the reason she left, how he no longer feels at home in Earth, how much he hates himself for that. While he's singing, the crowd changes multiple times, showing just how much time has passed. His backlight also changes. Starting with a light blue colored color, then starts darkening into a dark red, as a reference to his throne in Hell, where he will end at the end of the season. This scene is also shows up his life in a way, starting with light and purity as an angel, then falling and being expelled from Heaven, then having a new light with Chloe, just to at the end being surrounded by darkness.
I've literally gone through dozens of Creep covers and... I can say without a doubt... On my behalf, nobody hits the song correctly like Tom Ellis does.
fun fact:if you put this video to play on a loop lucifer will sing the whole song again, making this his personal hell living it oooover and over again :P Edit: Thanks for pointing out my mistake, although the 1st case would also be cool.
Please check out the video I post about the song that he and Chloe played and tell me what do you think! Im 14 and I never took clases so please don´t hate too much. (I know, spamming is bad but im not doing it for money because I can't earn any because im minor)
His own personals hell. He has to play the song over and over again for the rest of eternity. Which is probably why Radiohead refuses to play it in concert.
Gina Lopez if your last name really is Lopez do you think its a bit funny / cool because in Lucifer we have miss Lopez / Ella Lopez just wondering cause i think its kinda cool and funny i hope you have a good day though sorry if I offended you in anyway bye
The cinematography is masterful as well. In 1 minute 45 seconds they showed just how much Lucifer is losing to his inner demons. Isn't it ironic that even the Devil himself has to fight off the demons within him?
I mean everyone else has already talked about how powerful this scene is so all I think I can add to that is... I’m not the only one crying right? I mean this scene makes me cry every time I watch it now just because how well done it is and how well it shows Chloe’s meaningfulness to Lucifer and how much he needs her.
Just now started Lucifer for the first time on Netflix. This scene is what they used to get my attention when I scrolled over shows to watch. Needless to say my own demons and sadness reacted to this beautiful rendition of this song. Looking forward to seeing this show through.
This scene is foreshadowing. If you pay attention the image behind him is identical to the throne he sits on in hell. He is also wearing the same outfit at the end of the song as he is when he's on the throne.
that heavy sigh after the first two lines hits me so hard. you can tell that he hasn't fully realized how long Chloe will be gone yet and he's just sad and it's coming from his heart, then as the song progresses and you see him slowly losing himself over her -- incredible. everything about it, the emotion, the editing, just everything is perfect. it really just sums up the entire season in the very first scene.
i like how the robbers was polite enough to let him finish the song, they were probably standing there just chillin and enjoying the performance

The way Lucifers hair gradually gets messier as time lengthens with chloes departure.
The way they represent a month so effortlessly through changing environments.
Not to mention those camera angles and Tom's magnificent singing.
Absolutely marvelous.
I think it's weeks not months, as Chloe would have had to be gone for at least a year with that amount of cuts
Noah Reeves it was exactly one month
@@alektoledo4436 yeah I realise that now, my bad, completely forgot lmao
@@alektoledo4436 but in my defense that's kind of what I was saying
Spot On!
I'm going interpret this scene:
0:00-0:28.
That's when Luci first met Chloe, how she made him feel things he never felt or thought he could. How she stroked him from the beginning.
0:29-0:50
Their time together.
The Ghost of Winterfell that was beautiful but also truly sad. 😭
Luci go to the hell 😭😭😭😭
you made me cryyyy🥺🥺🥺
And gun on his head at last🙄🙄
Or hes just singing a popular song
Imagine going to hell and just hearing the devil sing this. Honestly, I wouldn't mind hell at all.

this is one of the best scenes in Lucifer hands down, the way he sings “she’s running out again” gives me chills every time
Maybe if he clarifies things really with her she will stop running away. She loves him it's just a simple real conversation. Private 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This guy is seriously gifted & severely underrated.. wish to see more powerpack performances from him in future
I love the usual Lucifer, but the messy, confused from this season was the best, from performance, emotions and looks
Luv it
I love how you can slowly see time taking it's toll on Lucifer, as he realizes the Detective isn't gonna be coming back soon. He stops doing his hair, his suits become more messy, his beard even becomes messier.
I love it
The club becomes more and more empty
He also drinks more and smokes more

I’m sorry to disappoint you, but this lyrics reflect half of the earth’s population in my opinion
@@bernardor5792Wouldnt you know, Love and loss are human emotions, glad we still embrace them.
the lyrics are perfect for this season: the way he hates himself bc he thinks he is a monster and he feels he doesn’t belong there, the way he sees chloe as perfect (and she is a miracle), the way chloe was running away from him in the beginning...

this scene was so powerful, the switch in between scenes, just wowowowow
And when the camera was face on, it was great that they made the beginning scene the end one as well, if you look at the background.
The fact this character is singing this and his voice as well makes this a top moment for me in this show.
I love that Lucifer looks up to the sky when he sings "what the hell am I doing here" He blames his father and I love the small details of the show.

This actually made me cry, and I don't cry easily. I love this scene because I see myself in someone else for once. It shows a realistic example of poor mental health, something we especially need nowadays.
Eggxactly . You stole words from my mouth .. so much to learn and enjoy 😀
It's unfair for someone to look so good and sing so good. As if he wasn't gifted enough. That's a God's irony, indeed
i love how the back lighting and his outfits reflect his internal struggle.

Hit like if you believed Lucifer is the most underrated series ever.

Me analyzing this scene:
It starts with Lucifer singing, refering to when he showed Chloe his demon face and how he feels about her, calling her an angel.
