1:08 the bus's like, "What tornado?"
Omg.....that has to be almost as bad as truck horns honking. Hurry and break out the ptsd social workers
I used to be a cribber (basement/garage foundation). The step before the framers show up. We have to insert these "tornado strips" into the concrete before it sets. These strips are then nailed to the wood floor when the framers start. This "connects" the conrete to the wood. But, as you put it in...you cant help but wonder.....how THE SWEET FLYING FOOK can these thin strips do a single thing against a tornado. Strong gust of wind? Yea sure, they do something. But calling them Tornado strips is comical. All those houses you see destroyed into little pieces were all likely fitted with "tornado strips". Its just another addition to make bills higher. "Strong gust strips" would be a better name.

I framed in every part of Ontario for over a decade and took my carpenters apprenticeship and we never used steel banding unless the wood structure was over 3 stories, connecting the walls bellow, over the rimmer or joists to the walls above throughout the building. I have never once seen what you’re describing
@@smokiethebear3334 lol well we have them in Alberta. If you have never seen what I'm taking about, maybe y'all should look into it...we put tornado strips in every. House. Foundation. We. Made. 👍
Thank a trucker for your repair supplies
these lightweight modern wood frame houses dont seem to stand up much to high winds
true. theyre literally made of drywall and paper, with pink cotton candy inside.
Old buildings never did either.
Did you notice the lightweight modern trees too that don't stand up to high winds? zero excuse nature has had millions of years.
But alas, we should all build out of solid stone and live like cavemen, instead of just rebuilding a few homes when a natural disaster hits them, that would destroy anything else in it's path anyway.
Stop reading memes on facebook and thinking its a reality.
The new construction is garbage. Check out how fast a new material house is engulfed in flames compared to older style materials
@@email5023 even victorian homes made of actual stone and brick and old growth wood?
Pretty minimal damage from a tornado.
Something more to this story folks
EF0/EF1 and it ripped of roofs? This houses were clearly poorly made.
I agree. And that one tree that was uprooted sure did not have deep roots. The other trees across the street looked unscathed.
@@mtlicq News. Trying to create drama where there isn't any.
i dont think you know how roof shingles work
"EF1 (T2-T3) damage has caused significantly more fatalities than those caused by EF0 tornadoes. At this level, damage to mobile homes and other temporary structures becomes significant, and cars and other vehicles can be pushed off the road or flipped. Permanent structures can suffer major damage to their roofs."
-Wikipedia
Clearly, poorly made. should be able to withstand upwards pressure, not just downwards right.
clearly.
Too bad you're not leading the construction industry and building 5 million dollar huts made of granite.
😅
We need a tornado tax.
Lol, Ottawa gets a Tornado plastered all over main news, Alberta gets one...
prayers to family....
The roofs need to be checked for how many actual anchors were used I have seen the inside of a few attics and a very poor nails and a lot of misses
these lightweight modern wood frame houses dont seem to stand up much to high winds
They’re called wind clips and unless the house has piggy back trusses (taller then average roof) single homes don’t get them, only barns and larger buildings.
why do we build houses from very cheap and weak wood
because it is cheap
gotta cut costs to make up for carbon tax!
Im a tornado rider!
Tornado was nothing in ottaww
why are tornado storms hitting our capital cities?
Because God's not happy with Justin Trudeau.
@@michaelkrolewski7406 I would say he is not happy with Canadians who don't read and educate themself before they vote.
City Hall should coordinate with police to catch renovation scammers. The public should be invited to give the name of the companies that want to do the work to police, to verify that they are reputable and honest.
Why is this in my youtube news feed? Are you going to force feed me every irregular weather update?
But we're paying carbon tax. This shouldn't happen.
The whole intent of the carbon tax is to steer consumers and industries away from fossil fuels. Whether that is working or not is controversial.
Why does the add for this story show a bunch of firefighters walking around doing nothing as usual.
Tom Hartman Nationalize oil industry
Karma
Canadian tornado. Too funny
It's not like it's never happened before.🌪
Could not happen in better place!
Why? Because of your Trudeau Derangement Syndrome. Barrhaven is a pretty conservative suburb of Ottawa, Cletus.
@@titusmccarthylol hey Cletus I see you’re using your other account today. Nice to change it up ?
Not to worry... A few more years of carbon tax increases and tornados will be a thing of the past in Canada.
You're quite the comedian ! 😄
I'm sure that's the altruistic goal of all those carbon taxes.
A few more years of Dildeau at the helm and Canada itself will be a thing of the past.
When Ottawa has problems, immediate action. When the rest of the country is on fire…. Nah it’ll be fine. This proves my climate change conspiracy theory.
Did Trudeau get caught? 😂
One day he will get far worse than a tornado!!!
Evil always gets defeated and hard!!!
The asylum seekers should be out voluntarily cleaning up instead of sitting around in those paid hotel rooms
Ahhh soo tooo bad…a bit of wind blowing…blocking swimming pools, it just sucks, you poor sad Ottawa ppl….😉😏🥲
