In jazz I saw it had a lot in common with a V7 sus4 b9 no root to I. The IVm triad is the 4 b7 b9 of the V7alt. I've been teaching piano for about 40 years. If any one is familiar with the Thomson learning series books the early songs only usually the I V7 chords. Shortly after a lot songs use a IVm I cadence at the end. After about 10 or 15 of teaching with these books I noticed how similiar they were. I also use a lot of V7sus4 b9 chords going the I, like IIm7b5 V7 alt to I minor or major. Bill
