I believe all that accumulated silt along the riverbed demonstrates why every dam in the world is destined to ultimately fill with sediment from upstream.
I’ve always noticed that the river is really muddy. I live east of you by about 70 miles but I frequent the Fremont area. I would guess that after the river is blown out from flooding a few time and all the sediment is washed down street the water should clear up quite nice. It’s always good for the ecosystem to be restored to its natural state. I would bet that after a few good floods of you fly the drone over muddy creek bay there will be new sand bars and it should look a little different.
as you looked at the water intake, there did not seem to be much water in the area, I wonder is the city excavating the rock and silt that could plug the intake?
question: --there was talk of removing an earlier 'wooden dam' in the same general area, that was to have been uncovered when the pond went down... --any signs of that? --or do they think it's covered in the silt build up behind the old one?? (sometimes out here, during heavy drought, the reservoirs reveal all sorts of stuff... -cars, towns, --and older dams.) thanks as always for the vids, keep'm flying. -e
I really have enjoyed watching your videos.Where is this dam in relation to Ohio river / Cinci ? Why did they demo the dam ? Keep iup the good work. Thanks Tony
Ohio River runs across the bottom of Ohio and the Sandusky River is in the NW part of the state running through Bucyrus, Upper Sandusky, Tiffin and Fremont before emptying into Sandusky Bay. The dam was originally constructed to furnish electricity to the area but could only operate for a few hrs a day. It also served as a source of water for the city. The power generation was discontinued more than 50 yrs ago and silt build up had rendered it useless as a water source. The primary reason for taking the dam down would give fish a much larger area to spawn in helping the fishing on Lake Erie. I imagine the fish will be very confused during the first run up the river next spring.
Lol You stopped adding music. Did the complaining finally get to you? (I think it was more the choice of music, rather than the fact that there was music. Of course, you can't make EVERYBODY happy, right?!?) Good flying though. Thanks for doing this!! 👍👍
Notification system was never good imo either giving me alerts for everything of which I did not want or nothing for what I did want being new videos, so now I just check in once a day and peruse through, mostly watching past videos.
George Canvin There is if you were raised in parts of the Ohio and Mississippi River Valleys. At least thats what my grandmother and mother claimed years ago when I pointed that fact out to them. LOL!!
A more efficient way would be if they use a diamond cutting wire to cut through both the steel rebar and concrete which creates much less wasted time and waste to clean up into still manage-able pieces an excavator or crawler crane can handle.

Can't wait to see it after a good thunderstorm, thanks Bruce keep up the great work.
Thoroughly enjoying this series.
Yea.
I used to use ASMR videos to fall asleep.
Not anymore!! 👍
Thank you for the trek upstream!
Imagine having bought a house on the reservoir and having a nice deck and dock and now you have a sea of mud to a stream.
Thanks for the updates

Surprised at how clean the banks are

Oh,
Us humans are just NEVER satisfied, are we?!?
If it's not too hot, it's too cold.
@@twstf8905 I'm not too sure, he may have been referring to the speed limit.
There is no “R” in the word “washed”.

Hahahaha
That is nasty looking water. Green slime, probably from fertilizer runoff, or something worse.
Yes! from having peoples lawns fertilized!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Sheldon. That’s sarcasm. 🤦♂️
By draining the river, how bad did the fishing population change
We are hoping it will improve the fishing.
