This game shows the difference between Tressel and Meyer. Both great coaches, but one on a higher level. Tressel too conservative in big games. 4th and goal from the 1, kicks a field goal. 4 points not there. Horrible play calling before the half, USC gets 3. 7 point swing right there when USC won by 3. And that’s just the 2 big examples. More in there. To Tressel’s credit, his defenses were better than Meyer, but he couldn’t find the ways to come up with points. Give Urban Terrelle Pryor and they score at least 30 in that game. Always appreciative of Tressel, but this showed why his departure was a blessing in disguise. Urban transformed the program, then handed it off from Day who has shown he’s knows how to keep a machine going and give the upgrades needed

Yea Urban unlike Tress could develop QBs and coach to win championships.. Tress coached not to lose.. and after the title in 02 tress’ best year was the year they vacated all the games.
