    Sonam fails to impress. She tries to act very western but it looks very put on.

    This was such an important topic to be addressed and discussed. But Sonam doesn't address the actual issue or even inspire through her words and goes on and on about her narrow world of support system she already has. The interviewer keeps repeating the same questions in different ways, but it is an opportunity lost. Much preferred her post from 2016 that seemed more real than this entire interview.

  • @Seemstobereal
    @Seemstobereal 2 ปีที่แล้ว +80

    She is complaining about other actresses re size but she herself wanted to be successful in Bollywood. Also she has a mother who is a model and a father who seems to be extremely narcissistic re his image. I’m sure a lot of her image issues also stemmed from home and her own expectations

  • @grandfatherparadox1
    @grandfatherparadox1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +35

    The interview is not about the representation of the body in cinema at all or the warped ideas of what constitutes a beautiful body. These celebrities want to constantly play victims by blaming the media or even the audience when it comes to body image, but are so extraordinarily reluctant to look inwards and examine the messages they send out by the barrage of images they put up of themselves on social media looking 'perfect' with perfectly toned bodies, perfectly filtered and made up faces and constantly sexualizing themselves. This rant is no about Sonam but the plethora of Bollywood stars who are oh so eager to talk about the body shaming they experience but never ever want to deeply introspect on what they put out and the effect that it is likely to have on the thousands of young girls who watch them.

    • @SimV239
      @SimV239 ปีที่แล้ว

      True! I want to give an example of this one actress very skinny, must be a size 6, she’s in a candid pic with a friend & her insta post read, “my cheeks look chubby, must be all the burgers”. I was wondering what that post must’ve done to her young followers who’re actually chubby, dealing with body image issues, probably starving & not seeing the results they want to. I wish these celebrities thought through everything they put out.

    This is vogue India...not vogue america...why people are so ashamed of talking in Hindi..🙃...if she had to take interview in English, this video should have been posted on official vogue channel.

      Vogue India, right. Then who decides if it has to be Hindi? Why can't it be Tamil, Telugu or Malyalam or even Assamese?? Sadly English caters to most of its readers/viewers so let's consider it the neutral language, not Hindi for sure.

    Can you please stop subjecting India as the most horrible country! It's wrong to always blame India by saying India has this or that problem, here people judge you with your color so and so. Beauty standards came from Britishers , they were and are more concious about color of the skin. The problem is with your point of view and not with India . India is a holy country with beautiful ancient ayurveda ( now the whole world is following) don't forget India has given alot to the whole world . India is the most adaptable and diverse country . So stop this propaganda with wrong marketing of your own country.
